Hi Dave I recieved the shim tape Many Thanksby trilby - Ormerod
Hi Dave Are you able to help me with some of that shim tape as I am seeing some wear starting to appear already on the arm. (my bearing is damaged and i am awaiting some replacements) I am willing to pay for the cost of postage and materials. Thanksby trilby - Ormerod
Thanks Dave I recieved my X arm and bed support yesterday and was supprised at how quick I got it all installed. It has given new life to a printer I abandoned for 2 yearsby trilby - Ormerod
Quotedroftarts I noticed this printing plate, which looks interesting: Ian RepRapPro tech support I made a post about this the other day. I have ordered a package that has a magnetic holder that should fit the printbed. Will let people know if it is any good when it arrives.by trilby - Ormerod
Well I have gone and backed the project. When/If I receive the bed I will let you know what I think. I haven’t ordered the magnetic print bed as couldn’t' remember the print bed dimensions after having a drink so I shall mod the heat spreader to take some magnets to hold it in place.by trilby - Ormerod
Just been browsing kick starter and come accross this project. Kickstarter Looks like an interesting replacement for the glass and heat spreader if they do a magnetic base for ormerod in future, But I do wonder how long the coating will last.by trilby - Ormerod
Normally you see a minus value from the thermistors if they are not being seen by the duet. I used to have this problem with the hot end due to a poor crimp at the connector block that joins it to the hot end loom.by trilby - Ormerod
I am looking for both the bed and arm whats the price for both?by trilby - Ormerod
Fair enough back to the drawing board then. Do you have any links to these raspberry pi projects you mentioned earlyer.by trilby - Ormerod
Isnt the Duet already handling serial comms in some form or another (even over usb) as computers recognise it as a com port. I will admit I have not studied much of how the duet works Making a breakout board for the unit would not be a problem as I have a few of the modules knocking around my desk. It is just a thought I have been having.by trilby - Ormerod
A product that is made by the company I work at uses an interesting device made by digiconnect. Digi Connect 9210 From my understanding this is a form of Serial to ethernet convertor. I am wondering if it might be worth looking in to using this with the duet board rather than the inbuilt webserver, that isnt really that powerful. This would allow me to control my ormerod from anywhere on my neby trilby - Ormerod
I have done a visual check of the wires and checked the connector block so now it is on to checking continuity. Well after i have taken a break for a while.by trilby - Ormerod
Hello I have just started having issues with my hot end thermistor not giving a reading (-274) after a week of printing. Can some one please tell me the expected values from it at room temperature. This should hopefully help me diagnose if it is a wiring or thermisor fault (and pray that its not the duet thats dead). Thanksby trilby - Ormerod
Tsessebe Speak to RepRap support they may be able to replace it for youby trilby - Ormerod
Hello Can someone explain to me the changes that i would need to make to add homing mircoswitches on the software level. And also what pins on what header for the wiring on the due I have plenty of micro switches left over from another project and the IR on my machine has been fully removed as it was causing me many more problems that it solved Thanksby trilby - Ormerod
This happened to me on 1 of my first prints and I found that the cause was the fan duct / IR sensor was to low and catchs on the print causeing the motor to stutter. you can see that it has not happened on the z part as the movement does not cause the fan / IR sensor to catchby trilby - Ormerod
Hi I downloaded all the files at the same time on the 22nd and loaded them the same day. Thanks for your help it has now resolved this issue, now to file down the now removed IR sensor's mounting as it is now pulling my work up as it overhangs a bit. Cheers for all your help PS. For people wondering the fix was to remove the G28 commandby trilby - Ormerod
Hi DC42 Yes doing homing at the center of the bed and I am running firmware RepRapFirmware-057a-16-01-2014. No G92 commands in the file, one homing command I have noticed is G28 should I drop this command from the file? Thanksby trilby - Ormerod
Hello I have been trying to set my Z axis manually and following the instructions found on the forums. I do not want to use the z probe as the measurements always keep varying to wildly due to the bad lighting I use. I have manually levelled the bed and have managed to get it nice and level even with the bed heated. I have followed a few guides and no matter what I do I keep finding that whenby trilby - Ormerod
