Decided to try side mounting. Files posted on Thingiverse in case anybody wants to try them.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
No objections here.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
Mine is set to 1000ma and is fine. I don't know what the limit is but plenty here will be able to tell you that. I don't normally lubricate gear teeth, however, in the case of the extruder herringbone gears I found that a couple of drops of 3-in-1 on the meshing gears made a huge difference.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
That's great news! Looks like I'll be able to print the violin in carbon fibre filament after all. Parts are on order for extending the bed I'll report on how it goes. Many thanks for trying out the fillament and for sharing.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
The new iOn High-Performance ABS/PA Alloys here also look very promising.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
I would go for the better display.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
My preference would be for option 1.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
Many thanks all for the helpful comment. It turns out the neck part is longer than I thought, over 290mm. I tried it on slic3r plater, and needed about 200 x 250mm to comfortably accommodate the print due to width at nut and neck joint. I see 200 x 300mm beds available so will have a go with one of these.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
Thanks for that. I'll be really interested to hear how it goes. I will be trying the filament too but not for a while. I wanted to use it to try and print David Perry's superb F-F-Fiddle He recommends this filament for improved tone and aesthetics. However, I'll need to extend my Y-axis/bedplate to 300mm first since the neck section is 280mm long. I'm thinking about how to do that in the meantimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
I'm keen to print with this: does anyone have experience with carbon fiber filament? They mention possible issues with bowden type machines such as the ormerod.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
I would be interested in one too. Jimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
Hi Dave You could run the mac version of slic3r on the mac.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
Better still get some 200mm Kapton tape - £14 for a roll from ebay (enough to last a lifetime), also clean thoroughly with acetone before each print, store filament correctly to prevent moisture, print a brim (I found this really helps and always use on larger prints). regards Jimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
Hi Dave Put me down for a set too. Many Thanks.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
I did find it tricky to set up the Z-axis and had been wondering about, rather than a permenant fixture, a jig or something to make it easier to: 1) Confirm squareness. 2) Enable positive adjustment by attaching.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
Paypal is good with me.by JDNicolson - Ormerod
Hi I'm definitely up for going in on the laser cut bed purchase. Jimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
Hi Option 5 for me to Jimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
Hi Since I'm going to be printing a few insurance spares, does anyone know where I can buy the correct filament to match the green Ormerod. Strangely, RepRap Central tell me they don't stock it. cheers Jimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
Hi Put me down for a populated board too, if you can cope... Thanks Jimby JDNicolson - Ormerod
