also to mee it look a termistor fail but you have do all the check...by Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi Joni, When I start with ABS, one of my first part was the x-carriage in ABSby Zonzo - Ormerod
Sorry for the stupid question, but HOW the heatsink have to fit on the Form232-tek/Joar's airduct??? PS: no way for the DC42 ir sensor to fit here.... also with the shoe horn... I forgot to consider the space of the connector.by Zonzo - Ormerod
Yes, the print result much better! I have print that cooling duct and I've think to attach the dc probe using a "L" printed support fixed to the hole of the original probe.... I'll check for that this evening Erik, cous You post your last gode please, i want to print that and see the differenceby Zonzo - Ormerod
Thanks, great point Erik. I want to fix my ormerod structure with some aluminium pcs like you, but in any case I think that this is ok for a good adjustment, but the software correction give to the printer some fine tuning. the same for the bed, I've manually set the bed almost perfectly but at every print i do also the 5 point bed compensation with the Dc42 probe.by Zonzo - Ormerod
by the way the result isn't good as my expectation, so I have 2 question: 1- how can I define the right extrusion temperature? 2- there is another way to make the axis compensation? thanksby Zonzo - Ormerod
last test: when the print start to lift the "z" column I've 1- add an extra external fan to cool the print 2- increase the print speed to 250% via Duet Web Control 3- reduce the temperature form 180 to 170° (with step of 2° tosse the difference) Slicer speed setting was: Perimeters = 60 Small Perimeters = 30 External Perimeters = 70% Infill = 60 when the print reach the colum the print slow dby Zonzo - Ormerod
Approx the same or just a little moreby Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi Treito, I don't know what it is, but since February I haven't touch my printer and I leave it printing really good, that's why I suspect a software fault. My reading when turning on is around 30-34°Cby Zonzo - Ormerod
Ok, Dave & Erik, thanks for your help. I agree that it is a temperature problem but I can't understand why the same hardware configuration have work well some month ago and give me problem now. That's why I thinks it could be a firmware or a slic3r setting problem, my first doubt was that something change on the termistor reading parameter and I forgot to adjust something on the config filby Zonzo - Ormerod
Honestly I think that the problem is due to the upgrade I do to the firmware and also to the Slic3r that I do before restart my adventure in the 3d printing. when the Ormerod run the dc42 0.78 firmware an old web interface and an old Slic3r version in febbruary I've done a lot of print with a really good quality, all in ABS and without that kind of temperature problem. look again at the attacheby Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi again... I've tried to print this damn Axis Calibration colum a lot of time but it seems to me that there is something wrong with the setting, the printer or on me! from my last message I've improve the bed levelling and some other stuff, including the return to print PLA instead od ABS and the consequent use of open air duct to cool down the print. So please someone can give me a ready to pby Zonzo - Ormerod
Look at that: REAL bridge made with 3D robot it seems they haven't problem with cooling fan heheheby Zonzo - Ormerod
Ok, This morning I've print the spring loaded extruder, and after check the nozzle (that's look clean) I've tried it... Incredible how much the spring work! I've print the one with the ptfe tube inside exactly ad your recent suggestion. Before left office I've only test some quick filament feeding inside the tube without change the mA, no step was left. Tomorrow in the morning I want to printby Zonzo - Ormerod
Thanks David. I'm sorry for the bad explanation: my E motor skip step when I load filament on the ptfe tube at a speed more than 5mm/sec, i have write extrude but I mean forward. Aniway all the information is good information, my print have just finish so, during the lunch I'll check the noozle for obstruction, then I decide if still necessary to set the mA to 1000 thanks.by Zonzo - Ormerod
actually I've this set: M906 X800 Y1000 Z800 E800 ; Set motor currents (mA) so my first step is to set the E1000 to see if that is enoughby Zonzo - Ormerod
thanks Erik, and also thanks Radian, I found that problem when I update the firmware after a long time, so I'm sure to have already change the mA set on my old config file, but I don't remember if I've change also the Extruder... in any case a quick check to the noozle is a good ideaby Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi, I have some problem with the extruder motor: it lose some step, it seems like it isn'n strenght enough to extrude... if I try to load the filament quickly than 5mm/sec, the motor start to click, and the same happen during the print. Anyone that can remember me the string that I have to inserti in my config to increase the step motor current? (i've try to search in the forum but every searby Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi Dave, Probably add to the printing area a small column on the opposite side of the glass is a good and also simple way to fix that problem, Monday I'll try this solution In any case I've try to print again that pieces with PLA, but unfortunately with that filament I had another problem that result in a print worst than the ABS... I think the filament is a poor quality one, so the diameter isby Zonzo - Ormerod
ok, thanks for the tips, I've already remove the 100mm/s speed row, but about the second things I've some doubt: the cooling setting is a section that I have not set, do you think it's a good idea to activate it for PLA printing? thanksby Zonzo - Ormerod
Zombiepantslol, I've stop printing pla when the reel received with the printer reach the end... In any case tomorrow I'll try again... But to print pla I need to modify the hotend fan duct (actually half mounted and closed for ABS print) and after the print close the air flow again, so I hope all that operation don't change the axis compensation just made... Do You think that my actual parametby Zonzo - Ormerod
Always impeccable explanations Erik!!!! heheheby Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi, after a long time of inactivity with my printer, I found in these days the time to upgrade it with the modulater IR probe bought some month ago... I took the opportunity to update the firmware and web interface (1.9a dc42 & DuetWebControl) inverted x axis motor wiring and took some minute to understand what happen in few month of absence from the forum everithing ok, the probe work welby Zonzo - Ormerod
it seems that you have some problem in the layer height... if your bed surface is leveled correctly and don't present bubbles of air, I think that this kind of defect was caused by the dangling of the noozle that could vary in the X axis position due to the PTE tube and wiring tension. it's better if you can write the axis direction on the picture Zonzoby Zonzo - Ormerod
Now I'm anxious about my printer after what happened today... nozzle and bed on whit the Ormerod blocked in the middle of a print with nozzle touching the printed part. I have immediately update to the last 058dc42 firmware and then launch a long print that I've previously load to the sd... I leave the printer finish the work in my office...alone... and now I'm worried... I'm sure about the wirby Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi, I'm using 057y the print start from the sd, I've never print via USB, every time I use the upload button on the web interface. the USB was not connected during the print and the pc don't have any kind of energy reduction option enabled, there are only the LAN cable In any case I'm looking for update the firmware right now. I just want to understand why the print stop after one hour...by Zonzo - Ormerod
Hi this morning I have start a print, when I come back to see the print status I found that the print was stopped and the noozle was in the middle of the print with the bed and noozle still hot... the Pause button was disable so I had to lift manually the noozle and set the temperature to 0... in the message log I found this: Warning! Ormerod webserver is probably broken, power cycle/reset yby Zonzo - Ormerod
Great work! Next picture of that one require a cloud backgroundby Zonzo - Ormerod
