RepRap is really bad in service... They didn't want to replace my board. After trying everything they just blamed me for using their hard and software.... I contacted RS and my complete kit was replaced the day after (even before I send back the broken one!) 1-0 for RS!!!by PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
I also had some issues with my Ormerod. I have no problem in putting time in the setup of the printer, but once its ok, it should keep on working... The Ormerod is not there yet. After a lot of replacements, improvements and patience I had the machine and software working, but then my Duet broke down. RepRap tried everything to put the blame on me and finally didn't replace my board. Luckily eveby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
I get no response from the duet anymore, so flashing is not possible (that's what I tried initially after the "freeze") I conclude that the board is dead and asked RS components for a replacement. They can only replace the complete printer. For a duet replacement, I need to contact the reprappro support. I send them an email but no response yet...by PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
Hello DC, I can't communicate at all with the board. (with or without 12V, with or without all other connections). The board is even not recognized anymore. (the stop happened 1 day after upgrading from 0.57a to 0.57y (0.57zb was not working for me)). If I understand well, you suggest to plug back the 12V (no steppers or sensors) and see if the linear regulator gets hot. I will try this and letby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
Hello DC, I removed all connections still the same result. USB led turns on, but further nothing happens. Can we conclude the board is dead? Kind regards, Philipby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
After a joyful day of printing with the upgraded 0.57y firmware, my printer died today. I started a print and went away. When I came home, it was not moving anymore, but the extruder and bed were still hot. I thought, not a problem, we will start the print over. What was weird is that the extruder had jammed into the board (after many successful layers it went back down???). When I tried to resby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
Thanks Dave! After some tries with the 0.57zb, I still couldn't connect to my Ormerod again. I tried the 0.57y version (still beter then the a ) Printing started again. In exactly 1h43min I will know if this solved the problem! --> PROBLEM SOLVED: after upgrading to 0.57y (thanks DC42 and Dave!!!) the print came out perfectly. PS: My automatic bed leveling is also improved! the probe takesby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
Hello Papakel, I'm just having the same issues! Please check the following post. Somebody found out his problem, it might help you also... I'm still searching :-( Pronterface stopping discussionby PhilipTheMobster - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
After some reading, I found the following quote: Quotedmould To try to reduce the amount & effect, you can try increasing the retraction speed, and/or tick the "wipe on retract" box in Slic3r that tries to move the nozzle out of the way quickly before a blob is created. If you do the latter however, be sure to install DC42's latest firmware - earlier versions had a bug that would cause the sby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
Hello all, After two weeks of struggling with the RepRap Ormerod, I have the same problem since yesterday. I have made some really nice prints already, but each time, I encounter new challenges to solve... I wonder if this is the right solution to have a 3D printer to make prototypes. It seems more and more that it is a gadget that needs a lot of attention... Nevertheless, I have read this threby PhilipTheMobster - Ormerod
Hello, After a long night (or short...), I finished my Ormerod hardware. This morning I started with the commissioning. First everything seemed to work well. I didn't print anything yet, but what fun to play around with the axis and turning on/off the heat!!! Nevertheless, I have one issue at the moment. Connection is working great and the pronterface software loads, but the screen is not whatby PhilipTheMobster - Reprappers
