Thank you all for your helpful reply's Will be working on this now on my vacation.by Lejoni - Ormerod
Hi I have bought some ABS filament now. and I want to start printing with that. My printer is a Ormerod 1 with a few platic mods but all in PLA. What parts do I need to replace with ABS first? I imagine I need to replace the plastic parts closest to the hot end with ABS for it to be able to print ABS in the long run. I assume someone must have done this already. Can the PLA parts take the heatby Lejoni - Ormerod
Quotedroftarts Hi people ... Ian RepRapPro tech support Are you planing any "upgrade kits" that would upgrade a Ormerod1 to an Ormerod2?by Lejoni - Ormerod
Quotedc42 QuoteLejoni Really looking forward to multi-color printing Will have to wait a few months before I can afford the upgrade. Off-topic I know, but you can find a list of what you would need to buy to replicate my 2-colour dual nozzle conversion at . If and when they release it, the RepRapPro single mixing extruder upgrade may cost a little less, because it won't need the extra nozzle anby Lejoni - Ormerod
Ok I got the freeze again now with this version. I did notice that if I pulled the network cable and reattached it again the page woke up briefly and I managed to get the JavaScript console up. And then it froze again. No errors in the console. This got me thinking though. It is a good CAT5 F/UTP cable I made myself so I do not believe that is the problem. But I noticed that my router refused toby Lejoni - Ormerod

Just as a contrast to KimBrowns posts. Where to start.. I of course dose not have anything else to compare with. But my experience with the Ormerod has been thoroughly enjoyable. I do not really recognize the all the problem Kim is describing. Maybe I don't have as demanding use cases? I have replaced a few parts on my Ormerod that dose improve it somewhat, but even with all original parts I goby Lejoni - Ormerod
Been using this version a bit now and Webinterface 0.98 And it works great So fare I have not gotten the lockup of the webinterface. But still to early to tell as it did not happen all the time before ether.by Lejoni - Ormerod
The Ormerod is my first 3D prrinter And I have done very well with it So in that respect I would say that yes it is a good first 3D-printer for a technically competent person There is already an expansion board for it that lets you drive more hotends and extruders. I have not tried that myself though. The printed parts that comes in the kit is PLA so if you want to print a lot of ABS you shoulby Lejoni - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Have you tried pressing control-shift-J to get the JavaScript console? There will probably be some error messages. Ok it happened again right after Home All finished. Pressing Ctrl+Shift+J dose not do anything in that tab at all. Now I'm using Google Chrome but it was the same with Chromium Pressing Ctrl+Shift+J in this tab works and brings up the console. Essentially it seams like thaby Lejoni - Ormerod

Btw. I doubt it is any network errors. This freezing of the web-interface seams to happen once or possibly twice after the printer has been un-powered for a long time (like over night). After I restart the printer and web-interface runs on happily for 12h+ straight without any problems at all. Quotedc42 Next time it happens, try connecting via Pronterface. If that works, try refreshing the web page, and look to see whether any network errors are reported to the Pronterface message log. I hope to release an update with improved network layer resilience within the next few days. This is unfortunately very hard for me. Quotedc42 That diagnostic info does not suggest that the Duet firmware locked up. Did you try closing the browser tab and opening a new one? Or just refreshing the old one? This time I tried nether. The time before this the same thing happened I tried both and I would not get anything. (the Ormerod would not deliver any webpage at all)by Lejoni - Ormerod
Quotedc42 The code to get diagnostics in my 0.65 series and earlier is M111 S2. It will change when I release 0.78. I'll consider adding a diagnostics tab in the web interface. Ok so the freez of the webinterface happened again. After I cycled power I sent that code and it replied with this: Program static ram used: 42044 Dynamic ram used: 38476 Recycled dynamic ram: 1400 Current stack ram usedby Lejoni - Ormerod
Sorry for all your troubles. Hope you have better luck with another model. I'm also new to the Ormerod (and 3D printing in general) But I have been lucky. My Ormerod works really well! In fact I'm surprised how well it works From all I read in the forums prior to buying it I had expected to have much more quirks to fiddle with.by Lejoni - Ormerod
Quotejstck As mentioned in the first post, the "rear" goes under the Z axis, and the "rear left" goes under the Y motor/bracket. I found neither of those fit too well, but I just sort of placed them somewhere it seemed decent. However, on a flat surface, the "rear left" one in my case would barely touch the printer and would easily come out, so I just removed it. And since there was a lot more wby Lejoni - Ormerod
Ok have printed them now. It deffenetly reduces the vibrations transfered to the table! The front once fitted nicely. But I cant really figure out how to put the other two. seams to be no real obvious way they go?by Lejoni - Ormerod

Funny as I was calibrating my G92 feed ratio thingy I used the WI controls to feed back and forth. Trying the different speeds I could not notice any difference. But thought it was just me not being able to notice the difference.by Lejoni - Ormerod

Using 065j-dc42 and WI 0.95 now Works good most of the time. My Ormerod dose sometimes "crash" however. Not sure what it is related to. It just happens sometimes usually when its been off for a while. I turn it on and do for example Home All. But can be other things as well. Last time it "crashed" it was right after Home All finished. The Web interface had frozen up. Could not do anything thereby Lejoni - Ormerod
going to print these for my Ormerod as wellby Lejoni - Ormerod
Awesome Will try it out as soon as I get my Ormerod patched up (It fell of the table breaking its acrylic feet )by Lejoni - Ormerod
I recently got my Ormerod and finished building it! Some of the problems you mention I recognize! The cable connector that goes in to the Zprobe has pigs on it that make it not fit in the correct orientation. I simply clipped of the one closest to the hotend so it would fit. But then it would sit really lose. So I used a zip-tie to attach the cable to the filament tube and it would stay put whiby Lejoni - Ormerod

ok so 5MB/min 83KB/s Is it the ARM / NIC chip or SD card that is the bottleneck? or just software? Just to clarify I'm not bashin anything here. Im just curiousby Lejoni - Ormerod
Quotedc42 * Upload speed for all file types is now almost 5Mb/min on my test system, using Windows 7 and Chrome. First I should say I do not have a Ormerod yet. (Plan to get one though, why I registred to this forum 5Mb/min is this a misstype? thats little faster than old dialup modems from mid 90s.
