Actually scratch that. The board triggers with the nozzles at 1.8mm above the glass build plate so 2mm would be too much. 1.5mm would do it as there is a little more play to lift the nozzles a bit. That or drop the Z Sensor plate a bit which may be a better option.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Just finished installing the board and it could do with being 2mm higher. At the moment it hits the Z sensor plate you have to add to the X Motor Bracket and I have had to drop the nozzles a bit. You can adjust it so that it clears with the bearing on the back of the X carriage but thats a pain to do if your print isn't perfect. Other than that it works. Ok problem solved, Dry joint on the Cat5 connector. Still doesn't explain why I can't connect with pronterface or Simplify3D but its working. I'm going to assume there is a dry joint somewhere on the SD card as well as It couldn't have been something I was doing wrong when it wasn't reading the card..... Thanks all. P.S. I'd still be happy to Beta test the New Duet Dave Crocker.....by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Ok so I have the board on the workbench now so I can see whats going on. I can connect to the board with the Arduino IDE and it is accepting commands in serial console. However it isn't reading the SD card and there is no network activity indicated. I have tried a different SD card and the board is powered from an external supply via the 5V_PS header. Measured as 4.9v with the internal Regulatby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Thank you. I'm fully aware that T3DP3D only stock the v0.8.5 board and I would have no problem upgrading to that board. I was referring to the new Duet that is being developed by DC42 and T3DP3D. I was running DC42 1.09m firmware and I have just flashed 1.09r. I know there were issues with a previous release. It's not the firmware! it was running fine before. I have powered the duet both withby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
No connection with pronterface and nothing is getting hot. Like I said I can upload firmware so I think that it is just not initialising. I am running DC42's firmware but as I said it was running fine so I don't think it is a firmware issue. I've heard bad things about the quality of Replikeo boards so I would prefer to go with T3DP3D personally and having read that there is a new duet out sooby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
So I powered up my Ormerod 2 today and nothing. No network connection.. I can see the board in the Arduino IDE and I can upload firmware but i get no response to serial commands over USB and the network won't connect. No activity on the ethernet connector led's. I have created a new SD card as I thought this might be the issue but nope. I have checked the board with everything disconnected exby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
I've printed this and am in the process of wiring up the hot end board. Position looks good. Can't comment on Backwash but as it's based on the original RepRapPro fan spacer it can't be any worse than the standard.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
There wasn't really an issue, just me being stupid. I imagine you have a version mismatch somewhere. What version of firmware and web interface are you using? Did you update the firmware as described in the build instructions?by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Ah Sorry, I posted a reply but must have forgot to actually press post Message. It's sorted now. Just needed to reset and re-load the page. I'm using Safari.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Ignore this, It's sorted now... So I've just updated to 1.09m-DC42 firmware and the 1.07 web interface. from 1.09k-DC42 (I think...) Now the web interface only updates the readings if I disconnect and then re-connect. They then stop updating again unless I am in the settings page which keeps updating for some reason. I'm sure I just have a version mismatch somewhere? Any thoughts?by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Ok. Here you go. PDF versions of the solidworks drawing for the Quickset hot end components and a quick drawing of the MDF spacer. Personally I'm going down the E3D Chimera route and will try and post designs for my mount when I get it working well. Nby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Hi Ian, So sorry to hear you were made redundant. Your help when I was assembling my Ormerod 2 was invaluable. If you or anyone else knows where we can find some quickset nozzles 0.3mm and spare 0.5mm or spare glass print beds i'd appreciate it. Guess i'll have to convert to an E3d hot end now if I can't find spares..... Neil.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
I'm running Slicer 1.1.7 on Mac and it looks like you can do this easily. Add multiple STL's of the same object. Select object you want to modify, click settings and then just add modifiers for the settings you want to be different. You can do this individually for each STL that you add. You can modify anything from print speed, infill parameters, suport material parameters and even layer heightby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
The extra terminals are for the Duet extension board that comes with the 2 nozzel Mod kit. Details hereby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Quotefotomas It seems like the M557 coordinates for bed calibration are not used. I have checked and rechecked my settings. When sending G32 it moves to X60 Y0 dispite my config G setting M557 P0 X28 Y15. As confirmed Here by Dave, if you have a bed.g file in the sys folder G32 uses this insted of the M557 coordinates.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Great. Figured it was that simple.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
I had the same issue with G32. It uses the G code in bed.g now.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
So I Installed 1.00h today to replace the stock firmware. Great improvement. Runs a lot smoother and the extended functionality of the web interface is great. I have found that when I run G32 to auto compensate the Bed it uses the positions in the Bed.g file instead of the M557 positions in Config.g. Is this Correct? Thanks for your work updating this firmware!by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
So I just found out that this is a thing. If you use the M556 Axis compensation with the RRP firmware supplied with the Ormerod 2 it throws off the position of the other axis. Anyone know if there is a fix yet? I know I should just flash DC42's firmware but I'm not quite ready to do that yet as I've only just built the thing. Disapointing that there is no mention of this issue in the build doby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
I had the same problem. Im finding that the quality of the crimping is not great with the supplied cables in general.by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Ordered. Nice website. Thanks!by NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
Hi Dave I'm very interested in an Aluminium X-Arm having just cracked mine... Let me know if you still have any up for grabs. Interested in any other mods for the Ormerod 2 as well. Nby NeilFrazerLX - Ormerod
