QuoteWibbles This is my setting, the printer was doing exactly 100mm when I originally set it up, but slowing the rate down on the lcd didn't affect the print quality. I went down in steps from 350 to 160, but still get the micro retracts, not as bad, but I can't get rid of them altogether. #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80, 80, 80, 350} #define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE {200, 200,by hacker - Delta Machines
QuoteWibbles Good to hear that someone else has got theirs up and running. I amazed at how fast this thing prints, my Smartrap+ has the slight edge on quality but then it does have an E3D hotend, but the Kossel will finish a job in a lot less time. Just wish it had a bigger print bed. Since discovering extra firm hairspray (on glass, no heated bed, PLA) I can print 1mm thick sheets that are 100mby hacker - Delta Machines
Quoteohfurryone Well hey, would you look at that. Replace all of Sintrons frame with cheap moulded parts and magically it prints perfectly! Very happy with the printer now! You definitely sound happier than when I remember you posted last time, congrats!by hacker - Delta Machines
QuoteSJN OG, have you selectred the correct probe in the marlin firmware ? Try use my config.h file, and see what happens. Wibbles, the extruder will only move when the hotend has reached the temperature preset in the marlin firmware :-) There's a g-code, M302 or M303 or something close to it to enable cold extrusion, should be useful for testing.by hacker - Delta Machines
I also got mine from Germany, I doubt they have improved much since I bought my, so I tend to attribute SJN's quick success to his skills rather than to kit's quality. Back when I had my problems, I opted out of Sintron guys sending me replacement plastic parts, because I have another printer, but they did offer it (don't that that was needed anyway, their attempt on fixing, I'm afraid, had neglby hacker - Delta Machines
QuoteSJN its all in the settings....trial and error. settings for this print , will not work as well for another object.........tick off te wrong box in the slicer, and that will mess up everything :-) Its a real learning experiance, athat you can not prepare for realy...... QuoteSJN you can get the boat here: All the details are in the instruction text. :-) But it is 0.3mm layer height, and 0.6mm layer width , and 115% flow. I use the cheapest hobbyking silver PLA. Its designed to be printed with "spiral vase", so it is printed in one sigle strand of PLA :-) Only one wall thick , so it is thin....and light. Thanks, I didn't realize it's spiral vase. QuoteSJN Just test printed the bow for an rc boat..... Only the bottom layer is messed up because my bed is not level..... Easy fix. Looks disgustingly perfect! What's the layer height? And how long? And what's the filament?by hacker - Delta Machines
QuoteSJN how do I adjust the current ? I have not changed anything from stock. My tepper motors are at normal temperature after a long print. I'm actually not sure if the driver itself overheats because of too much current (though why not?) and if you say your motors aren't overheating that may not be it… At any rate, try googling for stepper driver calibration or some such. In essence, the trby hacker - Delta Machines
QuoteSJN Stepper motor driver failed today..... No cooling I installed the included heatsinks with the thick heat conducting foam pads on them. Ran the printer, and felt the heatsinks, and they were only luke warm...... Fine I thought. Now, after the failure, i removed the foam, and glued the heatsinks directly to the driver chip, and they get VERY hot! The foam pads stink at condby hacker - Delta Machines
Quoteo_lampe I'm surprised you have good print results with a heatbrake that isn't cooled appropriate: Did you have an clogged hotend by now? Usually the heatbrake should disappear almost completely in the heatsink... That's what I meant in my comment about heatbreak above. I've just found my original sintron hotend — its heatbreak is about 5mm long, still quite long, though the one picturedby hacker - Delta Machines
Looks great, congrats! Not just faster, I generally find deltas tons sexier than cartesian. (I have a feeling that my original sintron hotend looked differently and heatbreak wasn't this long, but I can't check right now, it's in somewhat inaccessible box).by hacker - Delta Machines

QuoteGrAndAG QuoteSJN I thought that I got 5 stepper motor drivers, but one of them is different than the others. What is it ? it looks similar, but not quite if you look carefully. They always include extra one as spare. Because this part can be faulty rather often. (Actually, 99% of kits provides spare driver.) But mine five were absolutely identical. QuoteSJN At 01:30 AM CET a new mini kossel opened its eyes for the first time, and was born :-) Its allive :-) Just connected everything up exept the heatbed and temp probe, and hot end and temp probe. QuoteSJN The metal balls are just not a good match for this printer.... What is the optimal arm length center to center... 22cm? I ptinted some new end stop holders. There is room for the solder islands on the rear side of them. Much more steady setup thsn the flst plastic peices included. Quotenebbian QuoteSJN Thanks. It looks like they changed the effector so the metsl balls dont interfere any more. But the ball distance on the effector is now 38.50, and 39.50 on the carrige. Should these dimensions not be exactly the same to keep the arms parallel? They did what? Cripes. QuoteSJN I realy dont like the autolevel probe. It seems so primitive. Can I just level the bed instead? How does the delta printer know where the bed is when the home switchs are in the top? My M150 has them at the bed surface. Well, that's what probe is for ;-) You start with initial values and the rest is probed. And it depends on the firmware how much is probed/calibrated and how mucby hacker - Delta Machines
QuoteSJN Thanks. The build is going well so far. The parts are quite a slim fit into each other, but I managed. I forgot to put the T nuts int the bottom base holding the XYZ bars, and I did not want to take them out again, so I decided to drill 2.3mm holes all the way through, and tap them to 3mm. Works great I forgot one or two myself, but the fit is so tight that I never bothered tby hacker - Delta Machines
Welcome aboard, if you already ordered traxxas and have another printer, I guess you're all set to get it to work ;-) Actually, I think having traxxas or another printer should theoretically be enough to get it workingby hacker - Delta Machines
Quoteohfurryone Can anyone here print completely flat across the whole build plate without the nozzle travelling too high or low with roller carriages? I have not had any consistent long lasting success with rollers. If it's not the plastic bending after a few months it's the bearings wearing out. I'm looking to print at 0.1 - 0.2 layer heights. Quotenebbian Quotehacker You mean centrifugal 3010 blower? Sounds like a tiny one? (will look at it anyway, thanks for the tip). Speaking of fans on my e3d I replaced the stock fan shroud with the one I printed for 40mm fan and installed noctua (I think that's the name) fan and now it's totally silent when on. Quotenebbian Hey that's a great idea there hacker! I reprinted my vertices in PETG (original design), they are going fine so far. There's not much of my original kit left either, and I'm about to do an upgrade to mine (0.9 degree steppers, metal effector, toothed idlers), but I have to say that the original all metal hotend has been an absolute champion. Quoteohfurryone Very interested in seeing the new revised sintron kossel parts that are being sold by them if anyone has purchased this kit recently. I have a suspicion that they might be slightly familiar to me already.. >_> Although hopefully people are choosing better options than this printer now, I kind of hope not to see another picture of it.
