Quotedmould Try increasing the wall thickness slightly, or decreasing the nozzle diameter in your slicing software slightly. If you can get a preview of the G-code paths you should see a sudden change in the paths used for the thin walls as you increase their width or decrease the nozzle diameter. To print 1mm walls using S3D, I need to set the nozzle diameter to 0.49mm (instead of the actual 0by tig124 - Ormerod
simple really?! I think the walls are too thin (Set to 1mm) printing with wood filament, But would like someone else opinion. Twice I set this to print, and both time once we get to the top floor windows it looks like there is movement, however the roof then is fine! I am going to try the same print but with a wall thickness of 2mm (previous building design had a wall thickness of 2.5mm) Thby tig124 - Ormerod
Out of interest - How many would be good to get made? i.e. How many would people be looking for? Orders now!by tig124 - Ormerod
Excellant interesting , I will check these against the fillament setting I have.. Gives me a good start.by tig124 - Ormerod
OK give me a few days and I will come back to you..... I will aim to speak to him early part of the week (Have my appraisal in Manchester Wednesday and busy bodies in the office Thursday and Friday!)by tig124 - Ormerod

Hello Eric, Thanks for the input - Think I will go down that line, although will still need to print out a lower Z mount - which I have been doing again... and now this time approx 4 hours through again, the x axis decided to jump, therefore print ruined and now I have to start at the beginning again tomorrow (Although now the lifting has been reduced to one small corner - which I suspect eventuby tig124 - Ormerod
Have considered replacing the lower Z mount with a machined plastic part to provide more strength.by tig124 - Ormerod
Thank all... I found an improved toungue that stops the bowden tube from moving soo much. And yes the split on the lower Z mount is where the counter sunk screws are - Can totally see why as well now.by tig124 - Ormerod
Getting very frustrated with this printer - I trust that I have brought one thats been printed by someone else and not reprap - Trying to go through and replace parts as we speak - Trying to print the lower Z mount, only to find I come back half way through (4 hours in) to find bowden tube out of the extruder due to extruder clip broken, and now I cant find the STL file for this in the files I doby tig124 - Ormerod
Hello All, Whats the minimum power supply requirements for the Ormerod? 12V how many Amps is the minimum required? I had a night in on my own and wanted to get the 3D printer up and running at home, having moved it from my office before Christmas, so I can try out the new wood fillament!... only to find by blowing up the power supply that one of the kids had placed a screw into the power supply!by tig124 - Ormerod
No I don't have a cooling fan, i will try printing out two of them though... However the white PLA printed fineby tig124 - Ormerod
Hi, If you look at the following link, The Black print is using new fillament from Fillamentum It has a recommended print temperature of 190 - 220, as I have explained I have been setting this to 190, however it looks like it has been too hot (if you look at the top of the print it has some sagging ) as opposed to the white print which is straight... Have I got this prognosis right? Is it poby tig124 - Ormerod
Quoteormerod168 Yes those small 3mm nut can be a pain to adjust but if you bolt you printer down to something solid you will only have to do it once Erik Ah yes that would do the job eric....Mind you I need it to be more portable! and Compact!!! I was thinking of ditching the nuts and inserting a spring mechanism in there somehow (need to switch my brain into mechanical mode and figure thisby tig124 - Ormerod
Just wondering what setups people have for levelling their print bed? Looking for something better than screw and individual nuts to get the bed level? Thanksby tig124 - Ormerod

Hi Thanks The Bed is level, although lose (Have just found this out) - So moves at the edges (Need to dismantle and tighten up the bed), Prints fine if the print is in the middle. Thanksby tig124 - Ormerod
Maybe I should really buy some new filament, one that I know the spec (As the filament came with the printer and its second hand from Ebay, the person who sold it never got round to using it and brought it from a chap in bristol!). At least that way I would know what I am dealing with OK anyone know good PLA supplier? that works reliably?- Going to want to get some glow in the dark stuff as wellby tig124 - Ormerod
So even though for smaller parts I was getting better adhesion on Blue painters tape (as I was getting corner lifting from Kapton), that for larger pieces going back to Kapton may be best to acheieve adhesion!???by tig124 - Ormerod
So I am printing on Blue painters tape on glass, running the temp at 20 for the bed, 200 for the PLA, This has been fine for smaller prints, however now have scaled up to a large print it lift on the same corner. What is becoming clear to me here is that soo many people have different ways of printing PLA regarding the bed material! - I started off with Kapton tape on the glass bed (as this is wby tig124 - Ormerod
Ah in that case the corner lift was happening at the high end of the y axis!, the Fan is pointing towards the low end of the y axisby tig124 - Ormerod
Erm Low/High? Assume Low means closest to the Stepper motor? If so then this is at the high end Thanksby tig124 - Ormerod
Hi, Can anyone help? Why is the part lift at this corner? Tried is twice and lifts each time here... running at 200'C for the PLA I am using (If I run lower I have noticed that the layer truly dont knit properly and then I get delamination of the layers) Bed temp at 20'C I am trying to print out the lower Z mount (as I spotted the one I have has a crack on a part of it) I have posted (Cos of iby tig124 - Ormerod
Hi, Just out of interest what is the expected life time of parts on the ormerod? I have had some fracturing of parts which is frustrating as I am still getting to grips with the printer and trying to get a good print out - However its looking more likely that I need to replace at least the Hotend nozzle mount and now also the bracket that holds the z axis (Which I just noticed as trying to findby tig124 - Ormerod
Hi I have a question, whats the difference between the different types of hotends? If I was to upgrade the hotend on my Ormerod what would it be? Looking to print eventually in abs, wood filament, and nylon! (Although may well upgrade to a newer printer for some of these!) Its just working out whats good about the different hotends! Thanks Tomby tig124 - Ormerod
Thanks will try the code change tomorrow when I get to work - Printer is sat at work until I get space at home!by tig124 - Slic3r
Yes I have extruders set to 1.. Please hopefully find the code here Thanksby tig124 - Slic3r
Now I turned off retraction in the slicr software with the idea of speed up the travel distance to reduce the oozing between layers and its still retracting!! - Is there a bug with slic3r version 1.2.9 - Now I have to unblock again.... Grrr!by tig124 - Slic3r
