Quotedc42 I have just checked the DueX4 0.2a schematic and I can see the problem. The DueX4 0.2a does not make pin AD12 available on the expansion connector. However, it is available on the 2-way jumper block. So you need to move the proximity sensor modulation wire from pin 12 on the expansion connector to the 2-way jumper block - the pin that is not occupied by the VSSA flylead. I have tried using the flylead and tested but still no luck, but when I wire the z-probe back into the Duet it seems to work fine. Has anyone encountered this problem before?by HWrp156 - Ormerod
So I have removed the jumper, but the z-probe still doesn't seem to work. It tries to home but never seems to detect the bed, does this mean there is something else that might be wrong?by HWrp156 - Ormerod
I emailed Think3dPrint3d and they were great, sending a fly lead out today. I will try it with my Duex4 and Duet and post back if it fixes my z-probe issue.by HWrp156 - Ormerod
Thanks dc42 I'll have a look, but when I bought my Duex4 there was no flying lead supplied? Is this something that should have been supplied by think3dprint3d or will I have to buy one separately? I think the duex4 currently has a 2-pin jumper on which I have left since it was supplied with it on.by HWrp156 - Ormerod
So I have got my power supply (12V/30A) connected up to my RepRap. Since then I have also wired up my Duex4 and it seems to work with my thermocouples which is great, however the Z-probe doesnt seem to work now. I have reverted back to the Duet by itself and the Z-probe works, so there must be something wrong with my ribbon cable or the pins on the duex4? I am unsure. I am using the same named pby HWrp156 - Ormerod
Great thanks for the advice, I will look into other supplies and post my results when the printer is up and running.by HWrp156 - Ormerod
Sorry in case it was unclear, I meant the new power supply for the whole setup not just for the expansion board. So the supply would be used for everything and replace the one supplied. Or do you guys feel the one supplied ( I think it's 12V 3.5A) is more than enough for the duet and duex4?by HWrp156 - Ormerod
Hi guys, Seen some of the posts and now considering buying a new PSU for my Duet 0.6 + Duex4 setup. Was hoping to get an opinion on one I have found (similar to the one dc42 mentioned). - 12V 25A supply. Would this work fine with my Ormerod 2 and still provide sufficient power to my setup?by HWrp156 - Ormerod
Hi again guys, So I have received my Duex4 from Think3DPrint3D and wired it up according to David's blog. Next I am going to power the board and was looking to power it straight from the Duet. Therefore I noticed there was an unused terminal next to the input terminal for the PSU that has 12V across it and was wondering whether this is designed for the expansion board or not? It lies on the regulby HWrp156 - Ormerod
Can you recommend a thermocouple which can be bought to suit the board? Had a look but struggling to find one which is not too expensive.by HWrp156 - General
Great thanks for your help! Will try it when I get my Duex4.by HWrp156 - Ormerod
Hi again dc42, I have noticed that the thermocouple I am using is a grounded one and have read this may not be compatible with the MAX31855 chip? Is this the case and will this be why the board was not operating? Thanks.by HWrp156 - General
So I have ordered a Duex4 Expansion Board, thanks for the help. However I noticed that the proximity sensor wires from the current expansion pins will have to be moved to the duex4, where will they be placed now? Also can I power the duex4 from my duet or need a separate supply?by HWrp156 - Ormerod
Hi everyone, I am trying to add another extruder to my Ormerod 2 and was hoping someone could help. I am unsure if another one can be added to a Duet 0.6 without the need of a expansion board? Any feedback would be great. Thanks, Rhysby HWrp156 - Ormerod
I purchased the "MAX31855K Thermocouple Sensor Module Temperature Detection Development Module" board from ebay. Are these compatible or will new board have to be purchased? I will attach an image also.by HWrp156 - General
I have rewired my board and using a 10nF capacitor across the T+ T- pins, and tried a few CS pins but still no result. I am using the newest firmware and changing the M305 command for every pin, but still no luck. Is there something I am missing still?by HWrp156 - General
When wiring to the duet, what pins should be used? I am using a 4-pin LED strip where the pins are used for red, green, blue and 12V. And will a pwm be needed to control each light?by HWrp156 - General
Hi again dc42, so I have connected the capacitor and using the appropriate firmware version. But still I am getting no response, can you upload a picture of the Duet expansion pin layout to double check my layout is correct? However I am sure the wiring is fine, is there anything else that might be wrong that I can check?by HWrp156 - General
I am thinking of buying a LED strip for my Ormerod 2 to indicate which temperature is being shown on the heated bed (for example 0-15 = blue, 16-30 = amber and 31+ = red) using the 4 pins from the strip and separate 12V power supply. However I am not sure if it can be done using a Duet Board version 0.8.5, can anyone help?by HWrp156 - General
Hi again, so I have purchased the board and connected up according to the RepRap wiki page. However it doesn't seem to give me a temperature reading on Pronterface and instead just states -48.8 degrees. I have connected up the correct pins (with CS as pin 11) and used the M305 P1 X102 command but it just responded with lots of text. Is there something I am missing?by HWrp156 - General
Thanks dc42 for your help. In terms of the DuetExpansion connector pins, are these on the original board or is this a separate component that gets attached to the Duet? If so it was not supplied in my Ormerod 2 kit.by HWrp156 - General
I have recently purchased the 'Type K Thermocouple (Welded Tip)' from E3D-Online along with the 'External Thermocouple Board v1.0'. I was hoping to integrate these into my Ormerod 2 system, however can't see any schematics on how to connect them to a Duet version 0.8.5? Are they compatible or does it have to be Ramps? I assume the same connection method can be done for both controller boards, howby HWrp156 - General
