Hi Yes, problem fixed by just added a line filter on my power supply :-)by tru168 - Ormerod
Scary ! haha ! but anyway , thanks guys for all precious suggestions, I'll try to print again, but need to solve my Mac problem first, Mac seems unstable running Pronterface, ( although I can use others software ) I'm thinking of buy a new computer install with ubuntu for just printing 3D now...... Hi, Try several times to print ABS but fail. I wait for 1 hour and the bed only keep constantly 95 degree and the red LED never goes off, thats means the bed is at its full power. I try to click SD print and it shows disconnected . I press connect again and keep waiting for " connecting........." for 20 minute and nothing happen. ( my Ormerod keep randomly disconnected during print since dayby tru168 - Ormerod
Hi, Anyone know which type of PLA that come with Ormerod kit? I suspect it's 4043D or 4042D because it prints nicely at below 200 degree. I have several Kg of 4032D , which require higher than 200 degree to print.by tru168 - Ormerod
Yeah, wish Pronterface can support late 2013 iMac too. I still can't use pronterface in my new Macby tru168 - Ormerod
400 W thats thats a lot of power ! I'm QRP guy and my DIY rig will not more than 5W, FM or SSB. need big antenna though..by tru168 - Ormerod
Yeah, I'm printing from SD card. sorry for hijacking this thread, just mention this and see if anyone having the same problem. Ewby tru168 - Ormerod

I printed 2 filament reel holder yesterday, both printed via SD card. It halted halfway. Pronterface ( print run actually , Reprap Pro Pronterface won't work in my new Imac. , still crack my head to find a solution to make it work ) shows USB connection lost, I disconnect and connect back, and the printer start continue where it stop. It happened virtually every larger prints ( anything larger tby tru168 - Ormerod
Hi, As a Ham Radio Operator for years, I should think of that before you mentioned it. Thanks ! Ewby tru168 - Ormerod

Hi, Just switch on Ormerod, and kids shouting at me that TV suddenly turns snowy badly, I try to switch on and off my antenna booster, check on RF cables and try to fine tune my TV but can't correct the badly snowy image on the screen , and also white noise from TV's speaker. I gave up and think I might need a new antenna or TV. After I turned off Ormerod to take out SD card for saving somby tru168 - Ormerod
Just back from office, I check the nut / m5 rod, wipe it with clean towel, i can see thick dark goo on the rod. that was 3 + 1 oil that I applied few days ago when I install it. Indeed , dark goo means the metal rub each other and worn out. I will try to find a brass nut and try it. The M5 rod takes the load heavier than other design I think, because its the only metal rod that takes the load frby tru168 - Ormerod
Z gear wobble, I even suspect my 623 bearing worn out ?!by tru168 - Ormerod
Yeah, found a spare nut in plastic bag. I will clean, oil and replace it by tonight.by tru168 - Ormerod
Hi Kim , Take a rest , get yourself a cup of hot coffee, and back to your computer later. I was looking for z-driven gear stl and can't find it yesterday until I take a good rest . :-)by tru168 - Ormerod
1£ for extra 50W , why not ?! Although 250w seems adequate, power supply will run happily with a little bit more spare power.by tru168 - Ormerod
Strange that, after test print about 200g of filaments and the nut have weird sound , and shaky.by tru168 - Ormerod
I didn't see that instruction when I assemble mine.by tru168 - Ormerod
TMD: Try it, you can feel the deference before and after. I used just sparingly to avoid dirty heatsink. Ewby tru168 - Ormerod
Hi, Some of Ormerod users experienced overheat screws which will melt the print head holder . I apply silicone heat transfer compound in between cooling block surface and heat sink. The heat from cooling block transfer to heat sink very quickly and tested several hours of printing and the two screws are cool to touch. Ewby tru168 - Ormerod
hi, I checked my record ( I recorded down each step I've done for future reference ) and here's mine : /Applications/Arduino.app/Contents/Resources/Java/hardware/tools/bossac --port=tty.usbmodem1411 -U true -e -w -v -b RepRapFirmware-057a-16-01-2014.bin -Rby tru168 - Ormerod
Mine not printing yet , still stuck at commissioning stage. ( Just received the Ormerod 3 days ago) I did check with temperature using industrial thermometer. hotend temperature seems quite accurate .by tru168 - Ormerod
Yes, mine shown with cu and tty, I can't remember which one I used, but no harm try both. Should work . I don't know if FTDI driver helps but mine already installed months ago. Ewby tru168 - Ormerod
I have the same problem too. I suspect that the thermistor can only work accurately when it heat up to higher temperature, at room temperature it will operate at unlinear region. Mine shows 12 degree, and my actual room temperature is 27 degree. I believe it's normal.by tru168 - Ormerod
Hi Ozeng, I'm using 27" iMac (late 2013 version) and it works without problem Make sure your USB name are correct. I open arduino software, and when I choose port and I can see all Bluetooth serial ports and also USB ports name. Copy the correct USB name from there and apply into command. hi, before key in the command, did you proceed with cd downloads ? Hi DC42, I'm still on building stage, and MDF seems a little soft at corners and it began to sack already ! I know it will happen because I'm in Asia country, very hot and humid.
