Quoterm2014 why would you want this interface when there are interfaces many times better??? I have completely stopped using Prontrface now, i am only using this web interface!by PaulHam - Ormerod
Wondering if someone can help me. I have been printing fine since the weekend i got the printer. obviously had the small niggles like everyone else but ive hit a brick wall. The other night i was printing all night, lots of different prints and everything was fine. i was so impressed everything was working.. The next evening i go to print again and nothing will stick to the print bed, it does oby PaulHam - Ormerod

Quotedc42 Thanks John, that one looks good! I'm considering designing a new, larger pcb for the modulated IR sensor. The pcb would also feature a reliable and more easily dismantled connector for connecting all the hot end parts, and one or more LEDs to illuminate the print. I'm Interested in that if you come to selling themby PaulHam - Ormerod
Hi, Is there a plan for anyone to work on multiple extruders? I know that the slots are there to hang the extruder stepper motors from, but when could this happen and what is involved?by PaulHam - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Thanks, Matt. May I suggest another part for your upgrade library? It would be useful to have a version of the y-motor bracket that has a hole and nut trap in the back to take the 4mm screw from the Duet enclosure. That way, the Duet box could be slid further along, making more room for fan inlet ducts etc. I had a shock when I first tried to zero X axis with my newly printed fan baby PaulHam - Ormerod
The only way i can get the interface working correctly is to connect it straight to the laptop. I haven't tried it with the printer connected to the router and using the laptop wired. ill have a go at that later to see if it works. I can confirm that using the laptop over wireless doesn't work. it seems like the commands are send to the interface and it is waiting for a packet to be received whiby PaulHam - Ormerod
Ive actually noticed that my prints differ from using the web interface and prontrface. on prontrface i was using the paper dragging method and everything was fine, but now when im using the web interface i done exactly the same as normal but the first layer is too high (0.24) and wont stick. What i do now is the same paper drag as always, then lower by 0.2 and zero there. When i print they sticby PaulHam - Ormerod
Quoteiamburny File Uploading progress bar is Fixed and on my git hub, if your using a "Remote" version on reprap.htm you just need to refresh your browser (F5) if your hosting local to you replace the reprap.js in the js directory @PaulHam - Sadly most older "remote" versions wont work with the javascript I am updating, so much is changing its essential to keep the reprap.htm & reprap.js filby PaulHam - Ormerod
Quoteiamburny bah... thanks for spotting that Paul, i'll fix it asasp. I made a change as web printing was also making the upload progress bar move, didnt test uploading after tha, sry Matt I felt a bit rude mentioning it as i know your not getting paid to do this. But i suppose if someone doesn't mention it you might not notice, I bet its like painting a white wall. Matt, will your older versby PaulHam - Ormerod
@iamburny - The progress bar on the print status screen doesn't work? Will that be in a future version or is it just mine?by PaulHam - Ormerod
I've just seen ormerod168's post about the Single Wall Alignment Test Now I'm wondering what tests do you guys like to do to check your machine? Also, I saw a comb on thingiverse and the description said each tooth was a different setting, is it possible to get slicer to used different settings in one print or have I got the wrong end of the stick?by PaulHam - Ormerod
Same as FalseIdle - Slic3r 1.0.0RC2 I do have retract on layer change on Not sure i have the temps correct though, why do you use? im on a new roll of filament which i got on ebay. i ordered purple and it turned up as a pink colour. I really wanted some colour in my 3d printing life as white wasnt doing it for me.by PaulHam - Ormerod
I get blobs alot, especially when printing cylinders. Each time the z axis moves up it seems like the extruded starts and the nozzle moves a fraction of a second after, leaving a blobby PaulHam - Ormerod

ive just had a little play around with the standard bed file in the master directory. Ive never done anything like this before so what do you think? What format does it need to be for a lasercutter to use it?by PaulHam - Ormerod
QuotePaulHam Thanks David, Ill have a go. Ive finally managed to get it to print without hanging, even the graph on the print status is still working 22mins into the print. Hi all, I have upgraded the firmware to DC42's RepRapFirmware-57h-dc42.bin and iamburny's new webcontrol but ive been going around in circles for the last 3 hours. it seems that the web interface crashes randomly when sending commands. it feels like its sent a command and is waiting for the printer to say 'yep, ive done that' but it just sits there. and then chrome comes up and asks me if i wanby PaulHam - Ormerod
QuotePNut @iamburny: Absolutely magic! A vast improvement over the original version, thank you. As for feedback.. I think swapping the "Bed" and "Head" buttons over so that the Head button is above the Bed button is more aesthetically pleasing And that is the same as Prontrface. It would be good to keep them in the same order as not to confuse when people change between the 2by PaulHam - Ormerod
Sagging x carriage. I have the same. Widen the slot for the bearing on the right side, and get a 10mm bearing instead. I still need to widen the slot some more but the bearing helped a lotby PaulHam - Ormerod
The version of circle.g i downloaded re homed the z axis and then dropped 5mm (if i remember correctly). ripped up my bed many times till i worked it out!by PaulHam - Ormerod
Now that is on my to-do. Got some here aswell Thanksby PaulHam - Ormerod
Suggestions from someone that doesn't really know much. Check to see if you have slic3r v1 not 0.9.9 Download dc42's slic3r ini's and try again. I think you will get better prints.by PaulHam - Ormerod
QuoteTMD_RS436 QuotePaulHam Thanks John, that's cleared it up for me! Perhaps ill give it a go in the future! I see that you have had to bend the pin for the ir sensor too, I have a feeling mine will snap off ! Yeah I thought the same, I am so tempted in buying a 50pin IDC plug and connect that wire to pin 33 (I.e. the bent pin) Paul Yeah feels like overkill, a big connector for one pin. Quotejohneato Kim :- The material is Poycarbonate, a couple of years ago I bought a large amount from an old hardware shop that was closing down. It is in 500 x 300mm sheets and labelled as aircraft screens. It machines and taps very well and is incredible strong. A significant amount of my CNC is constructed with it. Quotedc42 To get auto bed levelling working well using the original IR sensor, you need to avoid bright sunlight or incandescent light. Also use white tape or paper instead of the aluminium tape. Does the paper/tape need to be underneath the kapton tape?by PaulHam - Ormerod
Quotedc42 My settings files were made for slic3r 1.0 RC2. If you load the standard Ormerod settings files in any slic3r 1.0, it warns you that the settings files are old and should be re-made from scratch. So there is some incompatibility between settings files for 1.0 and pre-1.0 slic3r, and I guess the settings files I provided may not work well with slic3r 0.9.9. All works as it should on sliby PaulHam - Ormerod
Is there anyway to have a wizard open when you want to do the bed compensation? Example, when you open the wizard it homes all axis, then you set the nozzle hight and click next, it moves to the next point. you change nozzle height and click next then it moves to the next and then the next?by PaulHam - Ormerod
