Nice! I will try to reproduce this with your gcode! Possibly dc42 could debug something, because i have not installed the development envirement / toolchain so far. I have no complete overview of the code at the moment so i am not sure if velocity could really be negative and my statements above are only speculation! Frankby Cash - Ormerod
I think the problem could be found inside the AccelerationCalculation() function, move.cpp, starting at line number 807: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- // At which DDA step should we start decelerating? d = 0.5*(v*v - myLookAheadEntry->FeedRate()*myLookAheadEntry->FeedRate())/acceleration; // This should be 0 or negative... startDStep = toby Cash - Ormerod
Quoterayhicks I presume that the feedrates for X and Y are limited to 50mm/s in firmware, to mitigate the effect Ray But in my case I had this jump while using 20mm/s and I am not losing small single steps from layer to layer or so. There was one jump at a specific (random?) layer. Before and after this jump the positions are perfect and i think there is not one step lost. If it where a problemby Cash - Ormerod
Quoterayhicks Quotedc42 Adrian at RRP is making major changes to Move.cpp to sort out issues with combined XZ, YZ and XYZ moves ah good that's encouraging I also think it is a firmware issue. These "bangs" are only rarely, the hardware doesn't change and i think 20mm/s is not so fast. @rayhicks: Would you send me the gcode snipplet to provoke this "step loss", please? Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Hi all, today I has printed a larger object and in about layer 75 I had a jump in the X-Axis of about1,4mm. I have no idea where the problem is. In the past I had the same problem on the Y-Axis because of the belt fixing is no perfect and the bed has more mass. Since I fixed the belt with cable ties I have no problem with the Y-Axis. It looks like a step loss, but the fact that it is round aboutby Cash - Ormerod
I am very happy the hear that the plugin is also useful for certain people! Today I found out, that inside the preferences file was a wrong "active_machine" number (2 instead of 0). This could cause Cura to prompt you the "first run wizard" every time when you start Cura. Also the machine settings could not be executed and the preset values (filament size and so on) are not correct. I fixed itby Cash - Ormerod
Hi dc42, thank you for the explanation! Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Today i have also the same problem again, connect button will not appear with the remote version. I have not completely understood why the .js files could not be hostet on the Ormerod itself and why i will need a separate web server. Could anyone explain this for me? The reprap.js is already located on the sd card inside the js folder, why could it not be used? Frankby Cash - Ormerod
I have modified the Cura plugin (see attachment). The Cura Profile line and lines containing "#" will be removed in the final gcode file. Not testet yet on the real hardware, but i think it should work. Frank Edit: Tested 2 small prints now and it works!by Cash - Ormerod
Quoteauser I too have the problem that sometimes cura prints start "mid-air". this is using 57l from dc42 (thanks again for the great FW improvements). What I did find out, is that to transfer cura-g-code i have to remove the last line which is a comment containing the cura-profile. so any hints on how to avoid "air prints" AND how to presuade cura to not save the profile into cura-generated g-cby Cash - Ormerod
Hi dc42, I had the same problem with another filament I have bought. I supposed that it is another sort of PLA like 4032D which will need higher temperatures and increased bed temperature to 70 degrees Celsius and extruder to 220 degrees Celsius and it was working very well now. Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Thank you Dave, i will try it! Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Hi all, i think i have a little problem with the bouden extruder hysteresis and i don't know how to deal with it. I have pinted a litte rotor for a model motor, a disc with a hole inside. The extruder is printing the filament around the hole in the middle with only a small amount of extrution. After that the extruder if printing directly the outer perimeter with much more extrution rate. At thatby Cash - Ormerod
Hmmm, i have no problem with closing the top surfaces. I am using only cura for slicing now and have printed several different parts... Nice object! Frank Edit: You could use Repetier-Host to view the layers with top surfaces, so you could verify your g-code without wasting material and time...by Cash - Ormerod
Now i replace my www content with the new 0.60 version it is working now! Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Still not working for me. I am working with the remote Version (no local Webserver) and have nothing changed on the sd-card since yesterday. Only the firmware from 57h to 57g and back again. Connect button is not clickable anymore... ;( Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Unfortunately, I can't get it to work. When I try to load it, the webpage comes up, but the Connect button remains in its unresponsive state instead of going to a darker colour and becoming clickable. I've checked that all the .js files, font files etc. are in my Apache directory, and I've replaced all 9 occurrences of the IP address in reprap.htm with my own. Is there any anywhere newby Cash - Ormerod
I have also noticed, that the print will continue after reset. Another issue, if i SD upload or print directly, the progress bar will sometimes stay at 99%. At SD Upload the corresponding file will have 0Bytes. Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Hi again, i found out it is not only the the Z-command that will be ignored. It looks like only the last 2 or 3 move commands/lines from the attached file are executed. I had to add more and more lines, that the Ormerod does anything. The temperatures are set propperly and after the wait a lot of commands are ignored (normaly skirt commands so it is not so fatal). You can try it and remove onlyby Cash - Ormerod
I will try to truncate the file as much as possilbe so that the effect will remain and post it! I am using your 57h-dc42 version!by Cash - Ormerod
Hi, if have finished also a few prints with direkt print without problem. Then i changed only the print speed and was frozen at 0% and at about 30%. Then i've tried uploading the file and it hangs at 30%. Then i copied it directly to the SD card, the file size of the frozen upload was 0. But i will also thank you for your great work so far! Frankby Cash - Ormerod
It is a single line "G1 Z0.30". This line is only ignored in combination with the other code like written obove. If you PM me you email i will send you the file. Frankby Cash - Ormerod
Hi again, now i have printed several parts working fine with the cura plugin. But i have a small "startup" problem when printing, possibly someone can give me a hint. The first Z-command of the generated g-code file will be ignored by the Ormerod and i don't know where the error is. It is the first Z positioning Z0.30 and it doesn't matter if the Z position before starting the print was 0.00 orby Cash - Ormerod
You will find a new version of the Cura Plugin attached! - Fixed wrong E values like: "G1 X41.52 Y43.37 E5e-05", i am not sure if Ormerod will handle this correctly, now it is: "G1 X41.52 Y43.37 E0.00005" - Added extruder retraction when the layer is changed like Slic3R (to prevent extrusion while layer change) - Added the Cura "preferences.ini" file with the machine settings to the zip - Cleaneby Cash - Ormerod
Ok, i did it! Here is the first version, some cura parameters (like speed) could be optimized surely but it is working pretty well. Please replace the corresponding 2 files in your cura program folder (programs/cura and programs/cura/plugins) with the attached files! And don't forget to enable the plugin after loading the object, or your slices view will be scrambled and your generated g-code fiby Cash - Ormerod
Hi again, thank you for all the PM's! i am sorry, but i have do do a few additional tests and therefore need a little more time. It looks like the ormerod firmware as a problem moving all 3 axis at the same time (Cura want's to do this in the generated g-code). I have to convert this also in the plugin and do some tests again. Please be patient, i will post the files in this thread as soon asby Cash - Ormerod
Hi all, I have written a cura plugin to convert the extruder values from absolute to relative and now Cura is working very well with Ormerod RepRapPro. PM me and i will send you the plugin and my actual settings for Cura. Frankby Cash - Ormerod
