The current batch of arm kits is ready and all pre-paid orders will be dispatched tomorrow (wednesday) via their arranged methods. I am now collecting requests for the next batch. Thanksby Davek0974 - Ormerod
This batch is now sold-out, please let me know if you are interested in an x-arm kit and I will start planning the next batch. Thanksby Davek0974 - Ormerod
There are two version believe of x-axis runners - one with the bearing running on th back of the arm and one with it on the underside. I will send a bit of shim with your order when ready.by Davek0974 - Ormerod
Thanks all for the orders so far. Treito, if you let me know your order number I will put a length of shim in with the order when they get packed. It will only work on the version with the bearing running on the back though, i think yours was that one so should be ok. Daveby Davek0974 - Ormerod
QuoteTreito Is it too late or can I place an order, too? And if so until when I have to place it? What about a shim without adhesive components? No still ok, but get in as soon as you can as i have started the batch now so qty is fixed and there will probably be a long gap to the next batch Not sure what sort of shim you need ? Daveby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Quotesteve0-uk Just paid for mine Dave. Order no. 941 ☺ Many thanksby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Good News... We have gained enough interest in the Arm-Kits to start another small batch. If all those who expressed an interest could please head over to my shop here... DD Metal Products Shop And place their orders, I will start as soon as the orders are in, delivery is usually around 10 days from when I start. Many thanks for your interest.by Davek0974 - Ormerod
It might have been hard but I think you made the right decision, and sorted it out in an admirable fashion. It's always hard when companies close but doing it right I think softens that blow. The legacy will live on I feelby Davek0974 - Ormerod
QuoteTreito Regarding the pictures I meant printed parts. For example the 3DBenchy printed with the Acrylic arm and printed with the Aluminium arm. Apologies, i have no comparison pics, maybe a forum member could assist hereby Davek0974 - Ormerod
QuoteTreito I am still quite unsure. For my second machine I use a solution somehow between the original Acrylic arm and the Aluminium arm. This is a lot of money especially when adding VAT and shipping to Germany and I will have to add a shim again. So are there any pictures that shows a direct comparison before and after? Unfortunately I cannot compare with my Ormerod 1 as it still has some undby Davek0974 - Ormerod
QuoteRoffern You you ship to Norway im interested in the alu x-arm kit Yes we do, will put you on the list Thanks Daveby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Excellent, on or two more and we are onby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Hi all, Is there any interest on the X-Arm kits still? I have three users wanting one but I really need to reach 6 or so before getting going. Price is £40 Thanks Daveby Davek0974 - Ormerod
QuoteTreito Quotedc42 Think3DPrint3D uses the same hobbed insert on their Mini Kossel extruder I believe, so I expect the hobbed insert will continue to be available from them. T3P3 unfortunately is very expensive. This may be caused because it is a small company, but 6 GBP for a hobbed insert? I earlier paid only about 60% of this price probably less for one. And there are only a few shops whosby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Quotedmould QuoteDavek0974 No reason it would need to be 316, any stainless is pretty nasty to machine. I have no equipment small enough to drill a 0.5 or 0.3mm hole though. I should think that a pillar drill would be capable of doing the job (using a PCB drill bit e.g. ), though a higher speed drill such as a Dremmel would be better. Dave To get that size hole, you will need to be spinning tby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Quotesteve0-uk I am not sure if Dave (makes the aluminium x arm) still makes the dual nozzle blocks. But if we can still at least get the one piece nozzle and block with Dave block we can still have dual nozzle... I am sure Dave will confirm if he is making them Hi yes I can still do these.by Davek0974 - Ormerod

Wow, what a blow. What happened??? Sorry to hear of your redundancy, I too have had direct help in the past and that will be missed. I hope the community will continue as will the Ormerod and other build projects.by Davek0974 - Ormerod
I see from your thread you have a decent fix in order, good idea there. If there is any interest in the X arm kits please let me know and I'll look at another batch maybe.by Davek0974 - Ormerod
Ok, thanks I think there is an update for Slic3r and will re-check all the beltsby Davek0974 - Ormerod
I thought that but they seem ok and why would it only start to show at the same layer as the aperture??by Davek0974 - Ormerod
Any idea what can cause the issue in the prints i am doing? Its a square box with a cutout in one side, in the side opposite the cutout the outer wall seems to be thicker by maybe half a mm or more???by Davek0974 - Ormerod
yes it was the T1 issue, sorted now thanksby Davek0974 - Ormerod
On the second print now, filament still messing about but will run out soon hopefully. The new web interface is nice, the only thing missing is a little button next to the Z readout that fires off a G92 Z0 command The file upload is now extremely fast, well done guysby Davek0974 - Ormerod
Any good or bad points re ElCapitan ?? I've been holding off upgrade so far as heard it can be a bit dodgy. The most annoying thing is the printer is upstairs and I'm down so have to keep running up to check itby Davek0974 - Ormerod
