In response to your reported post: BFB printers are not RepRaps. Although they originated from the RepRap project, they are not open-source and you are unlikely to find any help in the forums here. Now, you may be able to get help re-fitting your printer with RepRap-compatible electronics in order to make it functional again. Whether or not you want to do that is up to you. QuoteMrDoctorDIV I think he's due for a ban, other posts lead to spam pages placed oddly throughout his posts. Nothing subtle about it. But I'm no admin, nor do I claim real knowledge of things. Just what I see and what I think should be done. Yep, he's been banned. Looked like some sort of spam-bot.by NewPerfection - General
Although the 3D Touch was derived from the RepRap project, it is not a RepRap printer and is not open source AFAIK. Because of that, you are unlikely to get any help with it around here, although someone may chime in. Try contacting support at BfB:by NewPerfection - Printing

Here's one review: It's probably OK filament.by NewPerfection - General
Quotegmh39 They are using a price of $43.93 for PLA. I would say that is on the higher end of the filament pricing. Something around $35 would be more appropriate IMO. But none that less, that is freaking cool! $35/kg of PLA is $0.042/ml to $0.049/ml (1.2g/ml to 1.4g/ml density of PLA) $40/liter of resin is $0.04/ml There is cheaper PLA available, and more expensive resin, but I'm surpriseby NewPerfection - General
QuoteRP Iron Man I think the biggest barrier is the lack of thermocouple integration with standard electronics boards. The actual thermocouples are not too much more expensive than thermistors but it becomes a PITA when you have to buy an external expansion board $15-20USD just to use a thermocouple. On top of that, there is the chance that it won't end up working simply because there are probleby NewPerfection - General
Quotegmh39 Why are they using a proprietary 2.85 mm filament? Ok, it might not be proprietary, but it is a none standard size... 2.85mm is a standard size. It's just called 3mm usually. Filament that is actually 3.0mm diameter is uncommon.by NewPerfection - General

Quotesungod3k Yes that goes for 120$ if you want stl export Can it export dxf's that are usable with OpenSCAD? If so, just export them, import into OpenSCAD, extrude, and export to stl.by NewPerfection - General
2500 times or 2500%? If 2500%, it's probably an inch->mm scaling issue, where your STL's are exported in inches but Slic3r expects mm. In which case, the exact scaling you need is 2540%, or 25.4 times.by NewPerfection - General
That also looks to be a knock-off J-Head. I would expect problems even with 3mm filament.by NewPerfection - General

Quotethejollygrimreaper QuoteTraumflugOne strategy could be to make two vendor sections, "authorized vendors" and "other vendors". Only sellers authorized by the developer himself would got into "authorized vendors". This way every seller finds his place and there's a distinction of the items known to be good and those of not yet defined quality (which can be good, too, of course). i like this iby NewPerfection - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Easiest way is to use an AC-powered silicone or Kapton heater pad attached to an aluminum plate, controlled with an SSR. Other options are listed here.by NewPerfection - Reprappers
How about: ? These are defined pretty well there. Just need an explicit definition for cold end. Extruder: A group of parts which handles feeding and extruding of the build material. Consists of two assemblies: a cold end to pull and feed the thermoplastic from the spool, and a hot end that melts and extrudes the thermoplastic. Hot End: The parts of the extruder that get hot enough to meltby NewPerfection - RAMPS Electronics

I have built several i2's using mainly SAE hardware. But some metric hardware is necessary, such as for attaching the stepper motors. Normal printed parts will work with 5/16" threaded rods and nuts, but will not work with the smaller SAE sizes (for example: 4-40 nuts are significantly larger in diameter than M3 nuts). Plus, I have found that cheaper SAE hardware in smaller sizes tends to haveby NewPerfection - General Mendel Topics
QuoteRigor_MI had in mind that some thermocouple came with adapters and you could use something like 1mV/deg. scale. Those do exist. Something like this: Why not just get an extra thermistor and hook it up in place of your hot end thermistor for testing the heated bed? That would give you the reading you require.by NewPerfection - Controllers
QuotecdruUno won't work, not enough IO pins. Not necessarily true. My first printer ran off of a Duemilanove. You really only need two pins per stepper (STEP and DIR), enable is optional though nice to have. Can also use one pin to enable/disable all steppers at once. So that's 8 digital pins for stepper control (9 if you want to use enable/disable). Then 1 or 2 analog inputs for temperaturby NewPerfection - Controllers
Quote691175002I plan on having about 2KW of on the bottom of a 24" square plate of quarter inch mic6 this summer. Wow, do you have a 120V circuit at your place that can handle that much current? That's almost 17A, and most 120V circuits are rated for (and have a circuit breaker that trips above) 15A.by NewPerfection - General
Quotethejollygrimreapermost of the time the differences can be seen in the photos the seller uses In some cases though the sellers aren't that honest, and use misleading descriptions and photos. For example: They use the J-Head photo and description ripped straight from the wiki, but seem to be selling knock-off J-Heads. QuotePrinterPunk What Licence to use ( GNU or CREATIVE COMMONS ) ? Have a look here. Basically, pick the license that you think fits the best. Preferably something unrestricted, such as CC BY or CC BY-SA. Where to Release Design & Where Not too Release it ? Preferably on the RepRap wiki. QuoteOn drives using a low installation tension, small pulleys, and light loads, the backlash of the PowerGrip GT2 system will be slightly better than the trapezoidal timing belt system. However, with increased tension and/or loads and/or pulley sizes, the performance of the PowerGrip GT2 system becomes significantly better than the trapezoidal timing belt system.
