I have a non servo set-up for the Z probe (swinging arm JHead) and am a bit confused about setting up the Z offset. I have found instructions for using GCode thanks to Madmike; Z Offset Lower the nozzle till it just touches the glass. Raise it .1 or until a piece of paper just slides under it. Set Z to 0 using M555 Z0 Lower the Z axis testing the Z Endstop after each step for triggered using M119by gimli1003 - Smart_Rap

I have now completed the mechanical build of my Smartrap (picture attached). I am using toothbelt drives instead of fishing line and have made the revised J hotend from some PTFE (Teflon) rod. I have also used PTFE rod to produce the linear bearing. My last problem is what version of Marlin firmware to use with belt drives and a RAMPS board? I am accumulating a set of parts ready for my build of a Smartrap but so far have not been able to find a source for the purchase of the extruder heatsink with built-in fan. Can anyone point me to a supplier of this type of heatsink? I notice that in the various videos of the Smartrap in operation that something has been smeared on the glass to assist in getting the plastic to stick. What is theby gimli1003 - Smart_Rap
