My Smartrap is almost finished and is looking pretty good. But now I have hit the step in the build that I have been fearing, programming. How do I flash my Ramps 1.4 for my smartrap .4.9 and where do I get the files to flash it? I'm completely lost when it comes to this stuff so as much help as possible is very much appreciated. Thanks, Griffinby knife-edge - RAMPS Electronics

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the response is a little late I now have all the parts andy build is nearing completion. Thank you though! So smartfriends, do you have a file for the jhead lite hotend mount?by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Sorry reg you just caught me a few minutes too late. I just ordered steppers, ramps, and the linear rods and I decided to go with bearings. I ordered 12 lm8uu's and 10lm6uu's so I'm set for a while.by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Just getting the last few pieces together for my big smartrap order. I just got a recommendation to print bushings instead of buying the bearings because the bushings are super cheap and are supposedly quieter. Is it worth it to buy the bearings? I intend to print a lot of things. Probably almost daily. How fast will bushings wear out? Do they work as well as bearings?by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
QuoteBackEMF Reg is way to good for this world. You are going to be the owner of a wonderful hot-end! (may i say top-class?) Indeed. I'm am very grateful for the opportunity and will make sure to show how well it works. It looks like a top notch hot end and I'm very excited to have one. Thanks again Reg! Sounds like a plan Reg. Ill either PM or email you soon. I sincerely appreciate the offer and will make sure to document the process of setting it up and using it. Thanks again, Griffin of Knife-Edge Designsby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Reg is there something I would need to do in return? I'm interested in that deal.by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Yes please guys. I an still just trying to find the best way to fit a Bowden tube to a jhead light 2.1by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Hmmm... I'm liking that regpye more and more...by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
So is it not possible for me to thread the inside of the top of the hotend to accept one of these? Or should I just ask Kyle from Ohio plastics to accommodate mine to work with the smartrap?by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Might want to put it on ebay. At $400 you would most likely have no problem selling it.by knife-edge - For Sale
Still available?by knife-edge - For Sale
I'm just about to order the j-head lite v2.1 hot end and was wondering how I would put the bowden tube on it. Thanks in advance, Griffinby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Hi guys, I have finally gotten all my parts printed (v0.4.9) and I had not realized that the size of bearings had changed for the x and y axis. Can anyone tell me what bearings I need for this and if the hot end mount is correct for gt2 belts? I printed the 3 plates from the file folder from github so I figured that they were not a mismatched set. Thanks, Knife-edgeby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
I have been looking around for some examples of print quality from the smartrap and there seem to be few that aren't buried in threads. I intend for this thread to be a place where people can show their print results so that others can get a better idea about the smartrap's print quality. Please state your type of drive (fishing line, gt2 belts, rack and pinion, etc.) -Knife-edgeby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Quoteduranza The theaded rod can be a 5/16-24 rod from home depot. The connector you can get from Flebay 4mm push connector Did you already buy the printed parts? Ok thanks I'll go but the threaded rod there. No I have not bought printed parts yet. Still trying to find some aside from the makercoast ones becuase they seem a little too expensive at $30.by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Hi guys im finishing up my parts list to build my smartrap. There are however, three parts that I do not know where to get. 1) Gear for extruder to push filament into the bowden tube. 2) Z axis threaded rod (that can print at 100 or so micron level). 3) Bowden tube connector (the one that has the tube just slide in and is threaded on one end) I really want to get all parts on ebay if possibleby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Alright thats what I thought. I will give them a try an will report back. Thanks, Knife-edgeby knife-edge - General
I am trying to source a super cheap smartrap and I want to use inexpensive endstops. I came across these . I know that the seller is credible as I have bought other things from them before but I need to know if these will function as endstops. From what I can tell they will work but I hate to wait 3 weeks for anything to come from china to find out that it is useless. Let me know what you guys tby knife-edge - General
Thanks for the response. Does that fit stock in the smartrap or will I have to print a new threaded rod hold?by knife-edge - Smart_Rap
I am about to start my smartrap build but before I do I want to make sure that it can print at a high enough resolution. Is it possible for the smartrap stock to print at a 125 or 150 micron layer height? Thanks, Griffinby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
Hi guys im working on my smartrap and am in need of the linear rods. I am looking to buy them on either ebay or amazon but I do not want to spend a ton of money. I am currently looking at buying 72in worth of this . Any opinions on this drill rod vs normal linear rod? Any suggestions? Thanks, Griffinby knife-edge - Smart_Rap
