@Danny: Wow, it has been a year already now since I last posted. I had to move on from the university project "reprap" to finishing my studies and getting a real job...I believe the machine can still be visited at the FH Dortmund. if you are really interested, I think we could arrange something. But I understand it is a long distance for you. @Bob I will have to look that stuff up later. I hopeby daniel-kessel - Mechanics
Hello everyone. Well, you read the topic title - what the maximum speed your McWire based RepStrap can move at, in X and Y direction (mm/min) ? Mine was 360 mm/min with lubrication and other motor couplings (not the aquarium tube ones) on an M8 threaded rod (pitch: 1.25 mm/turn). I have since moved on to other (precision) drive screws which solved the problem of low speed. I am just interestedby daniel-kessel - Mechanics
Schwer zu sagen. Also bis jetzt gab es meines Wissens nach gar keine Elektronik-Kits von BfB. Es gab nur Mechanik-Kits. Mby daniel-kessel - Altes Forum

Hello everyone, I have been extruding ABS for some time, and I am having problems with the GM3 motor that I have got from BitsFromBytes. I stalls quite frequently, effectively ruining prints that otherwise would work nice. Also, it makes a lot audible noise. This is hard to describe, but it makes me think it won't last very long. I know some people are currently searching for new motors for theby daniel-kessel - Mechanics

Hello everyone, I would like to add status LEDs to my Opto Endstops 1.0. I figured from these pages: OptoEndstop 1.0: and OptoEndstop 2.1: that I will need these small LEDs and 1 kOhm resistors and put them in a series. But where do I have to wire this small series of parts up to? I cannot read the wiring diagrams on these pages. Can anybody help me please?by daniel-kessel - Controllers

You can find all information about the v1.2 SMD here: Quickly reading over it I saw: 1. It has ethernet connectors for the opto endswitches, which are backwards compatible with the 1.1 version. You can solder in a pin strip or any other connector. No problem. 2. It has an IDC connector instead of the old directly soldered wires. The pin functions are the same as with the old version, though.by daniel-kessel - Controllers
sid: Well at least I know what I will have to do now, thanks I am still waiting for parts in order to construct my equivalent of the plumbing pipes. I am building my repstrap as a university project and still waiting for parts from a supplier... Meanwhile I am halfway through soldering all the electronics. I have only two stepper motor drivers and the dc motor driver to go. I finished testingby daniel-kessel - Mechanics

Hello everyone! I am assembling a RepStrap "Seedling" and I am going to stick to the plans and instructions provided in the RepRap Wiki. One thing I am wondering about is this: How do the opto endswitches get switches on? What moves between the two sides of the sensor on the PCB and blocks the switch? I have already soldered and tested the switches, now I am wondering how to really use them onby daniel-kessel - Mechanics
Hi Pete, Yes I had a look at ResourceBundles before I startet. But the way I see it, you have to create a subclass of ResourceBundle each time you want to create a new translation. My approach was to make this easier to do for non-programmers by using the human readable properties files and making the current language a setting in the preferences window. I believed it to be "overkill" to implemby daniel-kessel - RepRap Host
Hello there. I had contact to Adrian and offered to integrate internationalization support into the host software. He said I should send him the changes I made to the current version and he might "try them out" and come back to me. Now that I have not received any reply to my mail, I figured I might just make the files public and see what the community thinks about it. Do not misunderstand me: Iby daniel-kessel - RepRap Host
