I have problem with my Azteeg X3, when I put the power on I don’t have 5V on expansion 3, the ICSP, MOT-6, MOT-7. But when I plug the USB cable in from my laptop the 5V power is back. I’m not that far with the printer that I can test everything, but I can tell the VIKI and other 5V stuff don’t work when I want to print standalone (without laptop). What are your thoughts about this? Johnnymotoby Johnnymoto - Controllers

Thanks for the reply! In your thread I saw this post: ''and I just received and email from Jim the Wolfman who penned the Viki mod to Repetier and who says this: in Configuration.h... #define SDSUPPORT true //#define SDCARDDETECT -1 (Comment the SDCARDDETECT line out). Hello reprapers, The plan was to print without using the PC, so i needed a controller board with SD Card option or a LCD with a SD Card slot in it. I choose for the Azteeg X3 with the Viki display (both from Panucatt.com). I choose this combination because the Azteeg and the Viki are solid products with high quality. Monday 2 November got the package from Panucatt with al the parts. Updated theby Johnnymoto - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Gr. Johnnymotoby Johnnymoto - Dutch User Group - Archive
I'm currently running the RAMPS 1.4 from reprapdiscount.com, and i have no complains about it. But a couple of days i did some research about the azteeg X3 3D printer controller. I really like the way it's build, not that fragile as the RAMPS and it has some decend connectors on it. So why you don't see them that often here on the Repraps? Price? Prefomance?by Johnnymoto - General
A little update about the current situation: The testing worked great and got to test alot of different stuff. Now i'm building the actual printer, but i have a problem. I want to use Repetier as printer interface, but after a while it always pops up an error and it shuts itself down. Has somebody else seen this kind of problem? There is no warning or other message given, only the standard messaby Johnnymoto - General
I have got another question, how can I activate the X_max Endstop? I'm homing at X_min, but over travelling in X + direction when the trolley hits the frame. I don't want to use software limits on this test! I have been digging in the firmware (Marlin) and think I need the following settings: For homing in the X_Min directions --->> // ENDSTOP SETTINGS: // Sets direction of endstops wheby Johnnymoto - General

Today machined the baseplate for setting up al the test projects. The plan it to test all the mechanical and electrical components that I will produce for my printer. First I will start with the a setup that includes a stepper motor with the gearing and spindle, also the sensors will be installed for testing. By doing this I can prevent possible failures in the end product. In the attachment youby Johnnymoto - General
Just got one micro photoelectrical sensor in the mail. From www.sunxsensors.com, hope to get my arduino uno this weekend over here so I can make a test setup for the sensors. For the inductive sensors there are only 10v - 30v available, got a 24v power supply and a relay but that's much components for only an end stop. The micro photoelectrical sensors will work with 5v, and you can choose NO oby Johnnymoto - General

An update about the progress, Made an lab power supply of a ATX, it's not delvering enough power for the complete 3D printer but is was a nice experiment to do. With a starting load i will get about 180W of it. Butt wen i put it on en then put 180W on it it shuts itself down. Think i'm going to buy a standard power supply with 30A output. Gr. Johnby Johnnymoto - Dutch User Group - Archive
