Quotezelogik @Jand: Maybe if the tension of the belt is not too tightened, it's ok. 8x2$ + 20pcs/$10.85 = 26$+shipping of pulley .... if your solution don't work it's not a big mistake ;-) @zelogic you ordered these pulleys right? Do you remember the shipping costs?by jand - CoreXY Machines
@reinhold You can use either 16 or 20 teeth pulleys. It does not matter for the design, both will fit. 16 teeth pulleys may easier skip a tooth. The belt touches the puley for almost the complete turn, so it will probably not make any difference. You will get a little more acuracy. But in my opinion you get a nicer stepsize with 20 teeth pulleys On my mendel I use printed pulleys since day one.by jand - CoreXY Machines
@zelogic By idler I mean everything the belt is touching except the motor pulley. So everywhere the belt is turning I have two bearings, one with flange (bottom) and one without at the top. So also where the teeth are touching the bearings. This is what happens when two non native english people are talking (writing) english. But we will figure it out I think. I think native english people withby jand - CoreXY Machines
@Reinhold After a better look there is not much difference in price for me. (At first I compared a 50cm piece with a 1m piece) I will have to compare shipping costs @Zelogic For Idlers I only use bearings, so I only need two pulleys. I am not sure if this works, but wil give it a try. @zungmann I will release the files, but it is probably better to wait a little longer until I tested it befby jand - CoreXY Machines
@Reinhold Thanks for the Thumb.I have been looking around at Dold, Profiles are cheaper there, but only standard length. Not really a problem just have to change my model. I just wait to order, have to look around. Seems they ship to the netherlands, I registered and it looks like I do not have to be a company. Need to figure out shipping costs. Nice they also have smooth-rod, trapezium-rods andby jand - CoreXY Machines
Just a little update on the printed parts. This weekend I printed the parts for the XY part. That is the two motor parts, the two Idler parts, two XY-ends and the carriage. (The orange parts do not belong to the printer) I screwed them together and seems a nice fit. I think the parts are strong enough. So it's time to spend some money, I have to order the alu profiles, belts, pulleys and idleby jand - CoreXY Machines
Wenderom aleen ABS.by jand - Dutch User Group - Archive
I am still working on printed parts for a core-XY based printer. I use zelogik parts as a base. I already made the XY-part, the carriage and the corner motor parts. The X axis looks like this: end the left Y-axis looks like this: The green corner part is zelogiks original part. This will be the next part I redisign. After that I wil start printing these parts to see if everything fits anby jand - CoreXY Machines
Daarna laten drogen.by jand - Dutch User Group - Archive
Hi, I downloaded the step files and made an assembly. A few parts seem to be missing in the github files. The part for connecting the Y-bars to the frame and the part for connecting the X-bars to the XY-ends. I decided to make all bars 300 mm The Alu extrusions are made to fit. For now it looks like this: Unfortunately I do not have access to a milling machine so I decided to make the partsby jand - CoreXY Machines
I found your github, so that's fine by me. I noticed you made your Z-stage in inventor. I have access to inventor so I will be able to have a look at that too.by jand - CoreXY Machines
This meens I can get reasonable speed even when the extruder is mounted on then carriage. Looking forward to view the step file. Take the time you need to get the files in a publishable wayby jand - CoreXY Machines
The speed and acceleration numbers are impressive. I like it. I know it is still a work in progress, so it might change a bit. Does the speed/accel include a stepper motor on the carriage? The more I read about corexy the more convinced I am that my next printer has to be a corexy system. Thanks for the PDF files. These and the pictures give already a nice overview of the printer. Keep up the gby jand - CoreXY Machines
You made a very nice printer. I looks rock solid. How is it performing? I am thinking of building a machine with XY- movements for some time. I was thinking about an ultimaker/tantillus design, but I not not realy like the rotating axis. The corexy system seems very nice, but I do not have access to a milling machine so the original design is not for me. It seems like it is possible to build youby jand - CoreXY Machines
What do you have in mind? Do you want to keep the original shape, or do you want to convert it to a MM2/TAZ style. I ask because I think about building another printer. I like MM2, but not the sheet metal parts. MM1.5 is a nice printer, but I am not sure it is the printer I want. I am also considering a ultimake/tantillus design, but don't like lasercut parts. Actually I do not know exactly whatby jand - Extruded Aluminum Frames
If you like the TAZ you may also like the MendelMax-2. I know it is not easy to make yourself, because of all sheet metal parts. But the looks are good. If you like it you may have a look at . This is a more reprappable version of the MM2. Maybe you can change the X and Y axis to rods like on the MM1.5.by jand - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Maybe it's too early, but do you see any difference in X and Y. I assume the bed (Y) is heavier than than the X carriage. If you speedup you might see more ringing in Y than in X. I think a vertical X looks nicer than a horizontal X.by jand - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Hi Marinus, Congratulations on the good results. The calibration parts look very promising. Looks like a very nice machine. Did you print the funnel on the mendelmax as wel, or did you print it on your Air? The retractions are a problem on a bowden system, but I am sure you will be able to solve it. I still do not understand why you choose for a bowden extruder. Does not realy make sense on a mby jand - Extruded Aluminum Frames
