Doesnt one of the Azteeg boards have 8 driver slots?by sungod3k - General
Well now the board is completely gone I had a friend over and he sat the board on a metal surface and now I barley get 4.7V on an empty board and there its not connecting anymore. Thanks for all your explanations and patience. Im gonna go RAMPS now, do you know a good source? I weary of any clonesby sungod3k - Controllers
At least one of the above mentioned pins on every driver has resistance of 50k ohm or higher, only few of them have a "normal" rage of 40-100 ohm. I would need to order new steppers for a possible new board anyway, so I guess I test with new ones next.by sungod3k - Controllers
I'd suggest some normal metal L brackets from the DIY store. I used lots of them on the wooden frome of my filastruder.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Here is a 40k$ model of roughly your desired proportionsby sungod3k - General
I removed the 7805 and that results in 4.98V when the board is completely empty. I took a closer look at the drivers 5V - GND driver 1 alone = 13.7 ohm 5V - GND driver 2 alone = 9.7 k ohm 5V - GND driver 3 alone = 0.47 k ohm 5V - GND driver 4 alone = 1.5 k ohm I have no reference knowledge but that seems high Also when I measure the 5V - GND empty board get 24.2 k ohm, and contrary to my expeby sungod3k - Controllers
Little update: I checked electronics layout because marlin always reported hardware resets. So I tested continuity from GND to all the pins. Im getting beeps on pins 11 and 31 which are ground, also on 10 and 30 which are VCC and AVCC (from what I read those have powersupply function) BUT most interestingly I also get continuity on pin 9 which is reset and that should only be the case if the bby sungod3k - Sanguino(lolu)
Hi, Im trying to find a possible short on my board and while I can test the 5V and 12V from usb/screwterminal to the voltage regulator I have no idea which traces should be connected and which should not. RAMPS has nice little schematic for that I cant find the same for the Sanguinololu. Or is there maybe an easier way to check that. Im thankful for every pointer.by sungod3k - Sanguino(lolu)
Some little progress I removed the voltage regulator and get now a clean 4.98V when the board is completely empty. I Also removed the pololus which I hadnt done before and found that one of them was causing the drop in voltage to 4.3V and got hot while the 3 other only the it drop to 4.6V. So I left only the three good ones on the board and plugged in a motor and actually connected to pronterfaby sungod3k - Controllers
@Noobman: I noticed the LM7805 getting superhot fast but I read that this happens as a result of the difference between regulator and usb output and accepted it. I actually measure 4.61V at the legs of the regulator, so Im not sure if it fried itself over time in normal use of if it took an extra hit when I fried the chip. I get 5.03V from the USB cable and when I disconnect the USB I only get 2by sungod3k - Controllers
Hi, I recently fried my atmega1284p on my sanguinololu 1.3a and just managed to burn a new bootloader and upload marlin. Now I'm running into a brownout resets as soon as I connect to the board in pronterface. I read a discussion on marlin about this error occurring in GEN7 boards because either and LCD is connected or some resistor is valued wrongly, but find no indication that the same issuesby sungod3k - Controllers
Proud Sanguinilolu users hear my call! Until recently I used my Sanguinolulo succesfully and even managed to get MarlinV1 uploaded with a version from the boards manufacturer. The official versions wouldn't compile. Then I burned my chip and I finally managed to get a bootloader on it. I followed the instructions from here but now I'm stuck finding a marlin version and Sanguinololu hardware conby sungod3k - Sanguino(lolu)
Im planning a wolfstock based on the V slots so from what I gather it is made for linear motion. The whole system would make sense if the slots and wheels weren't precise enough for it. On the openparts site they have a whole section with many different printer and CNC designs all based on V slot and there are no smooths rods involved.by sungod3k - Reprappers
That looks similar to what I had with my old bad extruder. The heatshield got hotter and hotter until the extruder couldnt push enough anymore. Some questions: Can you easily feed filament manually into the hot end? Could there be and obstructions in the way of the filament. Are your esteps calibrated? Have you tried overfeeding with 150% or similar?by sungod3k - Printing
I have the 10 to 6 pin converter and tried both orientations. Im trying to find another programmer to firmware upgrade my existing one and confirm this as source of the error.by sungod3k - Controllers
I tried that first. I have the Gen7 options listed and chosen and still get avrdude: warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update. avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x1f800 0x8f != 0xff avrdude: verification error; content mismatch The friend I got the USBasp from said he had managed to burn a bootloader with it, so does that mean my board iby sungod3k - Controllers
Alright Im back with the new chip. I tried all the GUIs first but most of them dont support the ATMEGA1284p or I get the " cannot set sck period." error. Assuming I understand the function of sck period I would need to set it to 16mhz which AVRDUDESS isnt allowing me to because its not in the dropdown choices. Or is this an indication of another error? With that I tried to do it with Arduiono.by sungod3k - Controllers
Aha, thanks for the fast answers, in the Gen/ article I read: "A bootloader compiled for 16 MHz won't work on an ATmega running at 20 MHz and vice versa. Again, make sure to choose the right variant." So I guess I over-interpreted the above sentence and the chip should normally accept the 16mhz bootloader on my 16mhz board.by sungod3k - Controllers
In my youthful ignorance I ordered a 20mhz atmega 1284p replacement for my sanguinololu which ran with a 16mhz chip before. Apart from the fact that I didnt find any 16mhz chips sold and with that start to wonder why my board supplier used it, I need to remedy that situation somehow. So my potenitally stupid question is: if its possible to have a 20mhz chip run on 16mhz and if I can "downclock"by sungod3k - Controllers
A friend of mine wants to build a scaled up version. It would be interesting to see if that is possible. I imagine that you would need more tools and time to build all the custom frame pieces and source all the specific hardware parts than building a solid reprap. If you build one keep me postedby sungod3k - General
It is possible to use a kitchen blender if it has a glass bucket. You can melt you plastic on a baking tray to get it into a thin sheet. But a more solid granulator would be easier. What kind do you have`?by sungod3k - General
Probably best to buy something similar to what was in the original machine. If your printer is going to be bigger its probably not impossible to use standard reprap boards but with industrial components which will draw more current they will work more reliably with industrial driver and boards. You´ll find those in the CNC forums^^by sungod3k - General
I checked both orientations. When i plug it in the other way around he doesnt recognize an usb device. I ordered a new chip, if that one makes trouble as well I report backby sungod3k - Controllers
Alright I found AVDUDESS 2.2 that has all the libraries. I still get the "cannot set sck period" error no matter what I try to read or write.by sungod3k - Controllers
ok almost there. what do i need to do in order for the atmega1284p to show up in the config file? I added this but the -p dropdown in the GUI doesnt list it. and also do i need to specifiy a programmer or can i just try them through?by sungod3k - Controllers
I got myself a USBasp programmer from a friend and im getting this: avrdude: warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update. avrdude: error: programm enable: target doesn't answer. 1 avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1 Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override this check. Yes, just for peace of mind^^ this hard reset will this require a hardware for programming? My first impulse was to look for a total reset, but then I would loose my bootloader with that.by sungod3k - Controllers

Hey, I´ve just received a new hotend and everything went well until I wanted to plug in a cooling fan in the 12V pins. I'm working on Sanguinololu 1.3a with Marlin or Sprinter. Both firmwares worked before and I managed to heat it up one time, but while fiddling with the 12V pin I must have shorted the them resulting in my computer shutting down. What could I have burned or f**ked up with thatby sungod3k - Controllers
At this size are you considering cross bracing the frame or do you find that this is stable enough? Im planning a wolfstock with 1m height and was wondering whether its necessary or not. Also what are you using for sliders in the carriages?by sungod3k - Delta Machines
