im not following the placebo is what exactly in your religous metaphor? i went back to master and voila it worked.by sungod3k - Controllers
Do you by any chance use a shielded cable? Thats at least the suggestion im getting from the google smoothie support group. I cant really imagine that interference is an issue because the same interference would happen over a longer print and also with the old master firmware, but stranger things have happened.by sungod3k - Controllers
Aha good to know that is definitely version related. Seems like a real bug.by sungod3k - Controllers
Hi, I recently had a little hiccup after flashing the newer edge version of smoothieware, but I fiexed it and it worked normally. After I switched nozzle I wanted to redo the calibration and noticed that the connection drops as soon as the first 2-3 points are probed both with G32 and G31. I reflashed the firmware, checked the config, and did a print from the sd card while being connected to myby sungod3k - Controllers
With my Re-arm now working I was also looking for new drivers. there is one here the promises 1/128 step for 11,5$by sungod3k - General
Just read the panel section in smoothie documentation and voila the lines disappear as soon as you take out the displays sd card. Also the menu feels more responsive now. I also had some weird crashes/skipped steps during SD prints, so onboard SD card from it is from now on. Also the firmware version appears on the display on startup, which is always good to know.by sungod3k - General
I have the lines as well, but they dont seem to influence the print. I did some prints from the sd card now and it appears reliable.by sungod3k - General
well thats a bingo. Loaded the firmware to the sd and immediately lost connection to the board and havent regained itby sungod3k - General
Im testing the calibration at the moment and its working a bit better but I have the feeling the calibration is not all that reliable. Sometimes it actually goes haywire and crashes the probe and other times it works fine. I tested G32 and G32+G31 and the latter is working better. But G32 alone is not sufficient. It consistently has one quarter of the bed to high and even with G31 you can stillby sungod3k - General
AMEN brother, panucatt hasnt even answered my support ticket since two weeks. The z offset eludes me still (see my earlier post) but it should theoretically work with the probe z heigtht + your probe offset from earlier firmware. 3 point levelling i think is done via G32 which does endstop correction, so that's kind of the same functionality. Im doing some more tests today to figure out how g31by sungod3k - General
I still have to confirm this but i have the feeling that the tilt correction that is done by the G32 endstop correction is influencing the G31 grid compensation. Meaning my the quadrant that is too high is the same for both G32 and G31, just a bit better for G31.by sungod3k - General
well that sounds weird. could that be the watchdog kicking in to fast? basically thinking youre overheating? and how is the grid compensation working for you all? i repeated 2 9x9 G31s and its functional but there is still roughly a quarter of the bed that is clearly offby sungod3k - General
Ill put now the same height number in gamma max and override, that seems to work. and I just looked at the disconnection in verbose mode and its a temp error on the bed, which i hadnt pid tuned.by sungod3k - General
Im printing now and nothing has shorted out so i call that a succes. One technicality though. The height calibration. I had some issues with the G32 and G30 and ended up calbration the height manually because it would save a weird value in the config override that was way to high. Is the override file secondary when I set a different value in gamma max? and I also had the second failure after 1by sungod3k - General
On the last two fotos you can see that where there is a bulge there is also a gap and the layer is going inwards, so the buldge could be from the direction change similar to the layerchange marks.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
I dont think these artifacts come from the flying extruder, that looks like a slicing thing. Otherwise if would happen on every layer. If you really want to make sure you got rid of all flying artifacts decouple the extruder from the carriages. Also im curious about you dual setup, do you plan on using PLA?by sungod3k - Delta Machines
I had started my delta with 50cm side length which which would have corresponded to a 40cm bed, but after half a year I went down to 40 side length and 30cm bed. For me there weren't enough prints that needed such a big bed. I still use 2020 Vslots which on its own is a bit on the weak side, but since I put some wire cross braces in there on two sides and its totally fine. Im not finished with thby sungod3k - Delta Machines
Aha, yeah the azteeg config says "switch.fan.output_pin 2.4" the re-arm cartesian config interestingly also says pin 2.4, but when I look at the re-arm pin out 2.4 is the HE2 mosfet, is re-arm recognizing the same double occupation of pins? On the other hand P1.20 is the first "Ser1" pwm output that looks like the closest equivalent to D9...by sungod3k - General
@NVDESK with a and b you mean alpha and beta tower right? if it only happens between two towers it would be weird, except if it an autolevel thing.by sungod3k - General
@ DjDemonD your pins check out as far as i can see. I added a column indicating which pins are different when coming from the azteeg mini delat config. Other question: what is the default model cooling fan pin? There are these switch.fan.output_pin and switch.misc.output_pin what is the difference here?by sungod3k - General
true short distances are easier to control, but when i think about it the strings from retraction are sometimes 3-5cm so even if you have short switching retraction like in nr2 you still need to pull them out quite a bit to make sure the strings are not in the way of the 2nd color moving in. and of course mixing nozzles are a whole different issue to be discussedby sungod3k - Reprappers
Hi, I working to get some multicolor action going on my printer. I dont need a mixing nozzle for now, so I found these mechanisms: 1) Prometheus system style Y-splitter: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3D-printer-E3DV6-Cyclops-dualhead-upgrade-kit-2WAY-in-1WAY-out-TL-Feeder-Prusa-bowden-splitter/32770576556.html This comes with a 1,75mm special bowden tube to avoid the plug that form on retractby sungod3k - Reprappers
Looks good. Ill try to confirm over the next daysby sungod3k - General
@DjDemonD: good to hear. from which config did you start?by sungod3k - General
Some little progress on the delta config. I left messages where ever I saw someone talking about the re-arm and while my panucatt support tickets is still unanswered, the best answer I got was from the smoothie IRC channel, where someone said: Quotethere is no delta config for rearm at the moment, you need to grab the azteeg x5 delta config then carefully change all the pin numbers to match theby sungod3k - General
Hi, random idea time I just saw this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnuNKg-r_P4 and she uses some binder + acrylic to make fingernail extensions and it hardens relatively quickly, so I wonder if i could dip a print in the binder liquid and then dump it into the powder to get a hard and smooth shell around you print. probably cheaper than encasing the print in epoxy. any 3d printing ladies herby sungod3k - Reprappers
No answer from panucat so far, and im a bit surprised to not find a default delta config. From the kickstarter alone there should have been at least some people needing it. Anyway, I compared the cartesian and nebbians config side by side and since there is no specific "delta settings section" I was about to copy all delta related setting from one of the smoothiebord delta configs in the cartesby sungod3k - General
Thanks guys ill check it out. My intuition tells me to modify the cartesian config from the supportfiles, that should at least have the right pin definitions. I also mailed panucat directly and asked for a delta config.by sungod3k - General
Mine arrived today and im looking for a ramps delta sample config. I only could find the Cartesian sample here .by sungod3k - General
