Aha, since I dont have acces to the individual pins of the driver is measuring the output voltage on the motor pins an indicator? I dont have an oscilloscope but I can imagine the voltages are different from a good driver.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Hi, while installing my Duet 0.6 controller board I came across some issues with my extruder motor. No matter what motor I plugged into the extruder slot and no matter what current I set it to 0.5-1.2 A they all would would either only vibrate or move only one step back and forth. There are some tests I havent had time to do like testing the working xyz axis motors on the extruder slot but assuby sungod3k - Reprappers
Update: I tested another card, but had the same issue, is there anyway I could have locked the upload? Communication and control of the printer is fine so it cant be the cable.by sungod3k - Duet
Hi, Im making my first steps with my Duet 0.6 and DC42 reprap firmware branch. Most functions work already, except the extruder motor and thermistor definition. Thermistor: I have and SDHC 4gb sd card formatted to fat32 and 32bit sector size but the Gcodes are not accepted when I upload via pronterface, its just stuck on sending. I tested other Gcodes they also dont work,so I have to check anotby sungod3k - Duet
get yourself a fresh marlin version, who knows how the stock firmware was configured. 2nd before you move you need to home that is when all carriages go up. and if they ram into the frame your endstops are not configured correctly.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
I was just thinking about this and mailed with openbuilds because they offer a nice vslot + leadscrew bundle but didn't get a straight answer from them. Seeing that industrial pick and place machine always use lead screw i think its time to test this. My only concern is how the motors handle the higher speeds that are required to drive the screws, but since the movement of the effector is alwayby sungod3k - Delta Machines
Apart from the compact size I dont see much difference. The 3:1 is interesting and should be tested in wades extrudes as well, as ive seen people sometimes mention the the 5:1 reduces retraction speed too much.by sungod3k - Reprappers

The loudest element by far is my hotend cooling fan. Any attempts to get bigger slower spinning fans on an e3d mount?by sungod3k - General
I see, shimming it is.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, I recent tried out a new effector design with quick release function to switch between my hotends faster and got some pretty terrible misalignment caused by the effector being bigger than the carriages. Im talking about the phenomenon that when the distance between the arms at the carriages is different than the distance at the efftor, the effector will no longer stay flat but angle the furtby sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, in light of the polysmooth kickstarter that promises a alcohol smoothable filament, I went ahead and dug out the rest of the limonene and hips that I had gotten for a dissolvable support and thought on how to use it to smooth HIPS printed parts. My experience with dissolving the hips by completely immersing it in limonene directly were good, so I tested that vapor smoothing method. I took aby sungod3k - General
I didnt know that and I have indeed only pultruded rods. Ill looks into getting something stronger. Thanks for all your inputs.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, im upgrading some frame parts of my 40x40x50 delta and while looking at how the frame behaves I found out that the weakest link are the carbon fiber arms. Its not really bad and the machine works but they are also 40cm long so in the middle the wiggle quite a bit. I was thinking about aluminum tubes or square tubes and wondered if the added stiffness justifies the added weight. Anyone usingby sungod3k - Delta Machines
Jumping in here: I have a endstop based z probe and I hard time finding the pins. Im looking for a z min endstop pins. The only stuff I could find is wiring instructions for proximity probe (capacitive or IR). Is that even possible on the DUET or do I need to switch to different probe? Usind Duet 0.6 btw never mind: I just found this on DC42s blog Type 4: a microswitch wired to the E0 endstopby sungod3k - Controllers
Hi, im trying to get my Duet 0.65 another go on my delta after it shorting on me last time i have a new one now and I remember the only extensive writing about it was on the reprap pro page, which still exists but doesnt give a complete picture of the what goes where. Motors and normal endstops are covered, but Im missing the placement of the hotend cooling fan, the model cooling fan and the z mby sungod3k - Duet
its part of m666. you can enter them as paramentersby sungod3k - Firmware - Marlin
Ah nice, thanks. Git would have been the next step. Im curious about your probe. I dont have good experiences with optical probes. I once bought an IR endstop and that totally didnt work and dc42s double IR although cheaper now is still 25GBP and then there is all the issues with mirrors and glass but thats just my side.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, I recently found this style of probe mount and adapted it to my printer . I had used a inductive probe before but had abandoned it when my aluminium bed started warping. No I have a simple endstop on it. Most parts are working, it triggers correctly, the mount is stable and repeatability is ca 0.08 mm (good enough for starters I guess) and g30 behaves like it should and gives realistic valueby sungod3k - Delta Machines
ah my bad i confused the endstop probe pins with the z min probe. topic can be deletedby sungod3k - Reprappers
Hi, im just putting on a new z probe on my printer and everything went fine so far except that its inversed. The probe is wired for NC and so const bool Z_MIN_PROBE_ENDSTOP_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstop. this should be the right setting and the probe reacts to pressing the button by changing its state however it showed up as triggered when the button isntby sungod3k - Reprappers

i printed most prints now on a mirror which worked surpringly well. however if I think about all post that I read about bed adhesion the variance it really high. have you experience with normal glass for a comparison?by sungod3k - Reprappers
yes i checked that and there is no power off. Its the standard end gcode from cura, which behaves as it should when i print via cura on a host PC. The display even homes at the end of the print which shows that its using the right endscript. I have the feeling that after the the print is finshed the display goes into pause mode and that includes powering the motor down.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Hi, I recently got the reprapdiscount full graphic controller and everything works fine. There is only this little detail. After the print the steppers are turned of and the print head drops (im on a delta so the head plunges into the model). However this doesnt happen when Im printing with a host PC. I have all the settings in marlin (adv config) and the end gcode also doenst include any powerby sungod3k - Reprappers
Yes I have tried all household things incl kapton and spray glue. I had abandoned heated glass early on and only now question that decision. Besides the cracking chance, I wonder if the investment in pyrex or borosilicate is worth it if the adhesion performance is the same.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Hi, I was just discussing different glass beds when the question came up if there is actually a difference in adhesion between borosilicate glass compared to normal mirror glass. I never got my simple mirror to stick well to pla without hairspray, but Ive seen other people use clean borosilicate without anything on it, so Im wondering if the different glass actually makes the difference in adheby sungod3k - Reprappers

Hi, a half year ago I had started installing my Duet 0.65 and after it blew up I only got around now to reinstall the replacement. In the meantime I had moved my printer to my office (a glorified garage with spotty wifi) and printed a lot over ramps + display/SD. Now I was looking at the "stand alone" printing options but buying a panel due is to expensive atm. So I was wondering since the Dueby sungod3k - Duet
