Hey guys! I had a stepper driver over heat on me and I want to get printing before Christmas and replacements will take far too long to get here. Is there anyone selling printer parts in the Nova area that can hook me up with some a4988's?by shaggysgti - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG

Hello all! I recently bought a kit from Bobs CNC for a very inexpensive printer frame. I've got everything together and working well but I'm running into a problem. I've got my firmware and my printer settings both to z-max/printer height at 210, but after I home, it thinks that max is at 80. When homing, the z value shows 210, yet after it reaches the z-endstop, that value turns to 80. I'm sureby shaggysgti - Firmware - mainstream and related support

Haha, thanks for the tip! I'm going to try to tie a simple knot then a small dab of glue on top of that. So the normal spool is 18mm, the ones I've fashioned and actually made work well are 30mm. No resolution at all!by shaggysgti - Delta Machines

thanks for the response you guys. as unclebob stated, I've noticed the movements the delta platform makes under even just putting a single step in the firmware configuration leads to jumpy movements, therefore leading to poor resolution. The vibration of the platform under movement is unmanagable and I think trying to make it work would lead me in the incorrect direction of "making it work." Anyoby shaggysgti - Delta Machines

Hey you guys! First post ever, first printer I've stepped up to building, too. I've started building a Rostock and with trying to stay away from timing belts, (mainly because of cost), I've decided to attempt to use spectra line. So the line works well, and I've got the delta platform moving around and stopping at my end stops properly, but I can't seem to fabricate something as a usable drive whby shaggysgti - Delta Machines
