Ok I feel stupid, but good to document for anyone else that runs into this issue.
SERVO_DELAY { 500 }
fixed the issue for me.
I didn't realize there was a timeout variable here.

Firmware - Marlin
I have my stow / deploy angles set to 70 / 140 respectively.
However, when the actual autolevel process is running, the deploy angle looks closer to 120.
I have checked this by manually setting the angle and comparing to when the autoleveling process is running, it is definitely not correct when autoleveling is going.
This issue has actually caused the printer to descend with the servo arm at

Firmware - Marlin
Wow....that is crazy, I didn't know that could happen!
I disabled thermal protection for the bed, and the issue went away.
So I was right, it was a firmware issue. All prints are fine, no crazy temp spikes.
There seems to be no fire hazard as the bed can only reach 90C max anyway, if the thermistor falls off it's not going above 90.
Thanks!

Apologies for the wrong location, this was posted after hours of debugging and I accidentally picked the wrong spot.

Ok....so technically since the printers are mine, every problem is my fault since I own them...I accept that.
But isn't the point of these forums to try and help each other?
Why post if you are just trying to make me feel bad?
Yes, it's likely a firmware misconfiguration, and yes, it's probably my fault also. I have no idea how to fix it since I'm not an expert.
I'm trying to post here so I c

Getting the error:
Thermal Runaway, system stopped! Heater_ID: bed
Which causes octoprint to panic and disconnect my printer.
This happens maybe 10 minutes after starting a print, after everything is warmed up and the actual printing starts.
Happens almost every time.
However, when I reset the ramps board and reconnect, I can leave the printer idling at full bed temp (90C) for hours and hour

Ok...I didn't have the zmax pin enabled (USE_ZMAX_PLUG) so it was basically thinking the probe pin was triggered at all times...I feel very stupid but at least progress is getting made
Thank you for your help!!

Tried 2500. Unfortunately still doesn't work.
I wonder if there is something just misconfigured about my Configuration.h, something autoleveling related that I'm just not seeing:

Ok, I tried increasing the max feedrate for z from 2 to 4 (matching my old other printer, which had working autoleveling), no luck.
I tried increasing the max acceleration for z to 50, matching my old printer again, still no luck.
I then tried changing the homing feedrate to (3*60) matching my old printer, *still* no luck. It moves faster for sure, but it's not moving down.
I couldn't find a s

To answer my original question, for anyone that is reading this: the answer is yes, you can use stock Marlin firmware with the Folger2020, you basically just have to gather the calibration data from the stock folger firmware and move it over to the Marlin firmware.

I have a folger2020. The z motors are mounted on the top, not the bottom.
This doesn't seem to be accounted for with autoleveling. I'm guessing perhaps the autoleveling code has the z motor moves hardcoded rather than mulitplying by -1 as needed.
When I autolevel, both for 3 point and linear, all that happens is the z axis moves up. Never moves down. I manually trigger the probe with my finger,

Sorry just trying to get more visibility on this.
My printer clogs on every single print and it's been doing it for months.
I have to relevel the bed every single time I unclog the nozzle.
Please imagine how frustrating this is.

I'm trying to enable bed autoleveling on my folger2020. To that end, I would like to flash my folger2020 with original Marlin firmware.
Has anyone done this? Is there anything to change from stock Marlin besides what you do for a normal printer anyway? ie, thermistor, steps, etc.
Basically anything needed outside Configuration.h or Configuration_adv.h ?

Prusa i3 and variants
I tried changing the nozzle today, and I noticed that the heat break somehow was screwed in *way* too much. I am unsure how this happened, as I am the only one using this, it's locked up in my house, and I followed the assembly instructions to the god damn letter.
I did notice that the heater block is free to rotate around the z axis, perhaps this has contributed in some way.

e3dv6 clogged yet again.
Is this just a crappy hotend?
I cleaned the hot end with the guitar string method and tried to push filament through, but it doesn't go, or at least, it requires a very large amount of force.
This is a brand new e3dv6 I bought to replace my old one that had the exact same issue.
Pretty pissed about this.

Hi folks,
My printer will randomly freeze in the middle of printing, or just whenever, with the following error:

Ok, so I can add scrubbers. Fair enough.
What about mitigating or detecting the health effects from exposure we have already had?
What types of cancers can develop from abs fume and UFP exposure? I'm going to guess leukemia, lymphoma, lung, and brain but I honestly have no idea.
Maybe we should collect some more data on this. I hate to think about what I've exposed myself to already.

Having the room be ventilated isn't enough?
You need filters also?

Hi folks,
I have my printer in my basement, in its own room, well ventilated. I never go in there unless I'm pulling a print off the bed. However, the room still smells a bit even an hour or so after the print is finished.
I have no short term exposure issues, but I'm wondering if I'm hurting myself in the long term.
Do ABS fumes increase your risk of cancer? If so, what types of cancers? Do w

Hi folks,
I just built my Folger 2020 Aluminum. This printer looks great!
I printed a test calibration cube and it came out looking really good, but with one strange issue: it starts printing at x=0. The extruder moves to y=100 without issue when starting the print, but it doesn't like to do that first x-axis move for whatever reason.
Here's the start of the gcode:

Hi folks,
I need to get this sorted out. I've had my printer for over two years and every time I press print it's probably 50/50 if the print will work or not.
Autoleveling is broken. There is no other conclusion that I can draw. I autolevel before every print, printing identical parts, and sometimes the hotend is too high on the first layer.
I did the probe repeatability test, and I'm seeing

Ok, so it looks like the bed might be bulging upwards in the middle compared with the edges. I remember it was difficult to get the bed installed on the bolts, it felt tight. Perhaps there was some warpage there.
I used my autoleveling probe to help me level the bed by hand. This seemed to make things better a little bit, but there are still areas that are too low and areas that are too high.

Ahhhhh ok well warpage certainly might be possible.
Let me check that and get back to you.
Thanks!!
