It looks amazing - not just the tool changing but the motion system as well. I'm in the queue...by motley - CoreXY Machines
Thanks for the reply - I do want to avoid a bowden solution... Just to muddy the waters slightly I have just heard that the Flex3dDrive may well soon be available for the Escher3D smart effector Choices choices btw many thanks for sharing your build - must be a huge burden of time but most appreciated by those (like myself) for whom some (or maybe most) of the complexities of building a 3D priby motley - Delta Machines
Hi, Can I ask if you are happy with the Zesty Nimble extruder, I am in the process of building the DC42 large delta with the smart effector and the zesty is one of the few that will fit. Thanks in advance, Chrisby motley - Delta Machines
David, Thanks - I didn't realise that - good to know for when I get to moving onto Version 12a of your firmware :-) It is all in the Duet setup guide now I re-read it so my fault for not remembering properly. I do love all this stuff but there is a lot to get my head around... Chrisby motley - Duet
OK solved ! The file homez.g contained "G28 Z" Removed that and all is well, old age strikes again :-( Thanks, Chrisby motley - Duet
Humm, 'tis possible David I was playing with the homing files yesterday, will have a look... In the meantime more info: Windows device manager reports "Arduino Duo (COM4)" yet the command: bossac -i --port=COM4 returns "No device found on COM4"by motley - Duet
Further to my first post, I get the same error message (Push(): Stack overflow!) when I use the Serial Monitor within the Arduino IDE (1.6.8)by motley - Duet
Hi, All was well yesterday, this morning however I get this error: Push(): Stack overflow In response to communications sent to the Duet board. When using the web interface this is after the call "G28 Z" Using Simplify3D this was after the call "M105" I have tried several reboots It's a 0.8.5 board firmware version 1.10 +4 (as reported by web interface) Thanks in advance, Chrisby motley - Duet
Brilliant thanks David - I'm easily confused! Back to my setup.. (and the test match) Chrisby motley - Duet
The commissioning instructions for the Escher Mini height sensor board says to use this command to set the probe type: M558 P1 However the Reprap wiki for gcodes says this: "...P0 indicates that no Z probe is present. P1 gives an unmodulated IR probe, or any other probe type that emulates an unmodulated IR probe (probe output is an analog signal that rises with decreasing nozzle height aboveby motley - Duet
Phil, Thanks for the link - I would be interested to hear how you get on - are you posting the progress somewhere? Chrisby motley - Duet
Pierre, Thanks again for the info - absolutely right about the slower speed, we will need to experiment with the amount of material the lower layers can support without sag. Also may have to have fans to encourage faster drying (at least initially). Much will also depand on the mix of the material - thankfully that's not my bit ! As I said early stages but very exited about the project and verby motley - Duet
Pierre - thanks for the link, I will have a read through that David - the one I have seen on RobotDigg is 1500mm tall with base edge of 700 mm. The plan is for clay extrusion of various sorts with a need for two types of material (the second for support until initial firing) The extra height is what is needed and with the double extruder I'm not sure of the weight of the effector at the momeby motley - Duet
Thanks for that - looks like I have some more reading to do, I have the specs of the recommended motors so I can match the torque settings with a higher voltage motor. Is the Duet tolerant of 30V for the stepper drivers?by motley - Duet
I am hoping to build a larg(ish) Delta printer and have been advised (by RobotDigg who make the frame corners) to consider NEMA 23 (76mm) These are rates at 6.7V 2.8A - am I right in thinking this is too much for the Allegro drivers on the Duet 0.8.5? Thanks in advanceby motley - Duet
Success :-))) Changed the M563 parameters as suggested originally by Doug and I now have a moving extruder, brilliant. Might get a chance to do my first build this evening or tomorrow - looking forward to it... Thanks again for everyones help.by motley - Duet
Hi David, I plan to change the line in my setup code from: M563 P0 D3 H1 to M563 P0 D0 H1 I have fingers crossed :-) Looking forward to receiving my IR Z probe! Chrisby motley - Duet
Hi, Thanks for the replies, I think I assumed (as prz states) that X = Drive 0, Y = Drive 1, Z = Drive 2 and First Extruder (Tool 0) is on Drive 3. Having just reread the RepRap wiki on GCodes I notice that I was wrong, it (the wiki) states that the first drive after X,Y and Z is D0. I'm not at home until this evening - will give it a go then and report back. Chrisby motley - Duet
Setup is: Windows 8.1 Prusa Mendel Longboat Duet 0.8.5 I have no Z probe as yet - on order from DC42 Using the Web Interface and I have now got everything running except the extruder motor (on either E0 or E1 pins) I have waited for the temperature of the hot end to stabilise at 190C but neither by running a test print, nor the direct controls can I get motor movement.
