I've seen the approach E3D have used before a few times. This one by #rolmie on YouTube looks very similar (appart from Maxwell Kinematic Coupling). But what I like about his work is his entry in this years Hackaday contest which uses a camera to auto align the multiple nozzles. Let's hope E£D keep their version open source.by Quazzer - CoreXY Machines
QuoteJamesK Sorry, I don't have a schematic done up. Rectification was just the typical diamond arrangement using four discrete diodes. One side of the resulting output is tied to ground, the other goes to the op-amp. I'm using the LM324 which copes with running on a single supply and is cheap on ebay. The output is fed to a LM339 quad comparator which tests the output against an adjustable referby Quazzer - General
QuoteJamesK For my intended use case of three point under bed mounts I wanted to be able to cope with the bed moving in opposite directions at the sensors for some probing points, so my circuit rectifies the signal before passing it to the op-amp, and uses three separate channels with the output combined digitally at the comparator output. It's not particularly expensive using quad op-amp, quad cby Quazzer - General

I'm putting together a new printer and looking to use a E3D hotend. I have an early one on another printer, but that has a much wider mounting grove than a J-Head. Is that wide grove still the same on current production units? Is there any good reason why it is not directly compatible with J-Head mount. If possible, I'd love to make my hotend mount compatible with J-Head as well as E3D, but if thby Quazzer - Reprappers
Quotenicholas.seward For those builders that haven't made it over to should do so. ... Setting up Conceptforge forum is admirable and should be a great place for Conceptforge activities that you've hinted at in the past. But please keep all of your great work alive here on the Reprap forum.by Quazzer - Delta Machines

An interesting concept, that may open up new avenues of machine concepts. Like it.by Quazzer - Mechanics
I don't see how the dog-leg alters the functional geometry, so it must be for build volume. A strait line arm would work the same. But shoot me down if I'm wrong.by Quazzer - Delta Machines
How about 3mm filament. It has more surface area to 'bite' into and may give more pressure for a given drive type?by Quazzer - Delta Machines
I like the support block dropping into a rim printed on the bed idea. The block could be printed in PLA and surfaced with Kapton tape, but it would not work for unattended printing :-(by Quazzer - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms
With the spool on the side would the extruder work better mounted directly behind the nearest arm motor, possibly with the same fixings straight thro the board? Non-symetrical for one extruder, but allows updrade to two. Do you have a size for largest component as I want to make sure I'll have suitable capacity to print the parts and make one if I'm not lucky to get on the beta program.by Quazzer - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms
Of course you're right. KISS principle is best way to go to get this working and off the ground. But on a later 2 extruder model, how about 2 side mounted spools on the side triangles, it could possibly fit within the same overal footprint as the working arms already hang over the sides.by Quazzer - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms
I was first worried that the V slot would weaken the structue at the top of V area, but now realize it is only a trench rather than slot, so looks like it won't go right thro the board. I like the way it is coming together. If wall mponting is not needed, will it be possible to mount the fillament reel on the back with some sort of spool holder stradling the vertical slot?by Quazzer - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms
