So after having to put the project on the back burner for a while I've been able to pull it back out. I'm running into an issue (I think) with z axis, It homes at a snail's pace and it travels in the wrong direction, the bed travels down| away from the hotend and endstop. Is there away to change those in the firmware?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
What does it mean when your z axis motor makes a strange whine at idle?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
If I were to mount some, do they need to be surface mount or can they be standard with the legs cut way down?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
2 questions, 1. Are the LEDs and 1k resistor necessary for the operation of a heated PCB? 2. Has anyone here had any experience with the REX-C100 PID?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I have them all set at min in the firmware, X homes to the left and Y to the rear when I home them. I'll set them at the full range positions. For the Z axis, am I correct in wanting to mount the endstop above the build plate or should it be mounted below it?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
Ok, cool. ill tune them tonight. I have a question about the placement of the endstops, should I place them to allow the full range of motion of the XY gantry or just the build area? and for the z axis should I place the endstop at the top or bottom?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
Everything is back up and running now, the endstops are installed and functioning properly. Should the drivers really be tuned that high? it was only .4-.5 in the video and if so should I tune the Z axis and extruders the same way?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
yeah, I have to reconfigure the firmware for the printer, its running a basic repetier setup just to test the motion. As for the endstops, I have 3 leads red, black, and green. I had them plugged in with the red facing the edge of the board and the green facing the stepper drivers.by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I think I might have smoked my RAMPS with a stupid endstop. I plugged them in to test, the board came on just fine and cycled the motors just fine then I hit one of the endstop and the whole thing goes dead and won't come back. I checked the voltage at the powersupply input and I get a 12v reading but when I check the voltage at the stepper drivers it's gone down to .2.by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I also checked the voltages on the X and Y stepper drivers, X came out to .6 and Y .508by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
The wiring setup I have now is only temporary, I have to cut and extend all the wires. All the electronics will be going under the printer. Where should I put the probes to check the driver voltage?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I'll post a better video later this evening.by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I did tighten up the belts last night but it was to late for me to try it out, the noise is the body panels rattling... right now they are only being held together by duct tape. The gantry moves good when I move it by hand (with and without the belts). the motor wire colors are orange, blue, yellow, red. They have some random extensions on them temporarily so I can sit the whole thing on a tableby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
finally got the pics to workby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
The firmware is just a basic setup to get it moving. I just reconfigured the firmware to better match my printer but I haven't uploaded it yet.by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I've finally got my printer rdoing motion tests but I've run into an issue. When I home the x or y the gantry only moves front to back and its super slow and choppy about it. I must have done something wrong, I'm running a ramps/Mega combo with repetier (set for corexy). I have pictures and video of the setup and it moving but but the site won't let me upload. any idea of what I could have doneby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
How did you go about picking your belt length? i'm looking to implement a similar 2 screw 1 motor setup myself to drive my bed instead of a cantilever bed setup.by dthomas6184 - Mechanics
So it would appear that I've run into a new issue... after flashing the board, can plug it into my laptop and it powered up just fine. I can check the menus, select stuff, etc. I then hooked it up to my power supply and flicked the switch and nothing happens. The power supply is wired correctly, powes up when the switch is flicked, and gives me 12.41v across its terminals. I disconnected the boaby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I got it going, I just downloaded an older version of the IDEby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
I double checked the com port and drivers and still no dice, what version of the IDE are you using?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
so I tried the Repetier configurator and downloaded the firmware, I can open it up and verify it in the Arduino program and it works fine there but when I try to upload it to the board I get this error Arduino: 1.6.10 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)" Sketch uses 124,950 bytes (49%) of program storage space. Twist the belts you say? Could you elaborate please?by dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
On the Repetier online configuration tool, there are 2 options on the printer drop down menu... which one should you pick? there is no difference in the options just looking at them. and the H-bot was what I came across first and I designed a printer based on that, I have read quite a bit about H-bot gantry twist and It wouldn't be hard to modify my design to accommodate the extra pulleys for aby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
Before I begin, I've scoured the core section of this forum as well as Google groups h-bot and corexy sections (and all of the Internet it feels like) looking for an answer but haven't found anything to the point... How do you enable h-bot support in marlin and repetier for the mega/ramps combo? Do you just Uncomment out the enable corexy line I'm the marlin configuration.h file? And I found eby dthomas6184 - CoreXY Machines
