Hi, Thanks a lot! Since I don't know the exact material of Hiwin rails (I'll either use original or knock off depending on the final budget), I'll go with the dual carier option. Looks like I've got some work to do :p Thanks again for your help!by ParalaX - CoreXY Machines
Hello! Thanks a lot for your feedback! I will make the frame myself, also from aluminium sheets, so I can add reinforcement where needed. But I haven't got to this part yet... I didn't think 3mm wouldn't be enough... I will use this site to do the laser cutting: . So there is plenty of material to choose from, and aluminium 6mm is in the list So I'll take that. Or do you think it would be besby ParalaX - CoreXY Machines
Hi everyone! About 3 years ago I started into 3D printing with a P3Steel Toolson MK2. I still use it as of today, and recently, I printed a few of stuff for the COVID-19 medical teams. While my printer can produce quiet nice result, it is a bit small, and a bit slow, so I figured I'd make a new one After much reading, I decided to go with the coreXY style, and took a good reading at this greatby ParalaX - CoreXY Machines
- 9 years agoThank you for your answer As you ay very well, diy is about doing, problem and repair, and this is what I love :p But I wanted to be sure to have a good basis, because sometimes, things are just rubbish.. Now, with the p3steel toolson mk2, I think I'll have a very good basis, so i'll start with that. I'll keep you posted!by ParalaX - Prusa i3 and variants
- 9 years agoHi, Thanks a lot for the answer! Indeed, the prusa steel seems like a very nice design too. I like the fact that it's steel: heavy is good :p However, I'll need to rethink a bit my BOM. I didn't have the change to check everything, but looking at here the difference seems to be mainly on the extruder? Also, i'm not sure I see what those items are: knurled nut, DIN 466 – M5: this? extruder dby ParalaX - Prusa i3 and variants
- 9 years agoHello everyone! -- If you want to fast forward, skip this Since this is my first post, let me introduce briefly myself: I'm Matthieu, from belgium, electrical engineer. I discover the workd of 3D printing a few years back, and since we have a printer (ultimaker 2) at work, I use it some times. However, I'd like to build my own printer since I can't print as much as I would like on the job. Foby ParalaX - Prusa i3 and variants
