So, is Max the top and min the bottom? That wasn't clear. And in printer prefs in Repetier, I did change from MIN, MAX, and 0. But HOMING did not change. Will try again.by disneytoy - Delta Machines
Hello! Kossel running Ramps 1.4. Marlin (for delta) In Repetier Host. My motors will move up and down via the up and down arrows under MANUAL. But if I press HOME for any of the 3 the carriages go down not up? I have mechanical switched at the top of my columns. The switch are working from previous tests. How can I correct the Homing Direction? Thanks Maxiby disneytoy - Delta Machines
This is my first delta. I've got motors working. Can someone walk me through the correct settings for Repetier Host. (I'm on Ramps 1.4 if that makes a difference).Z- axis moves slowly. In Repetier, I changed the printer to ROSTOCK DELTA. I'm trying to test endstops etc. In Manual, X+ does go upwards. Y+ goes down??? Z+ Goes up. In Printer settings, I haveby disneytoy - Delta Machines
So, does anyone bknow what is going on inside? How is the plastic extruded? how does the fan work? I' would think it would be noisey. But they don't have live sound in the video.by disneytoy - General
I'm reading about 70k and its around 15C room temp now. So it may be the firmware?by disneytoy - Controllers
Mega+ Ramps+ Marlin.I had the J-head running before, but had to update the firmware. In Repetier if I turn on the hotend. nothing happens. At the bottom of Repetier, it shows Extruder: 478.00 C/Off.When I turn it on, i don't get a light on the ramps and the j-head does not get warm. Any thoghts?by disneytoy - Controllers
Hi! When the Arduino with Marlins FW is USB attached with no ramps. Repetier can connect to the Mega. I have the RAMPS 1.4 connected with 4 a4988s the Jhead hot end, and an LCD+SD+ Rotary encoder. But when it is connected to the arduino, My COM5 is not showing up. I don't know if it is a problem, but when the Ramps is connected the little I'm guessing voltage regulator next to the DC plug on tby disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics
The easiest test is under menu examples. Blinking LED. If you can upload that sketch and it blinks, than the MCU is okay. That is the first thing I test when I get a new Arrduino. Files>Examples> 01 Basic> Blinkby disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics
Hi! I'm not sure what to do. I have marlins open in Arduino. I have a homemade 20x4 LCD+Sd reader and Rotary encoder. I'm basing my pin connections to the RAMPS with the Ultipanel LCD Controller. I'm looking at the Configuration.h I'm not sure what to do.by disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics

Hi! I'm trying to add a SD Card interface board made by LC Studio/lcsoft.net I want to do the SDCARDDETECT Hack, but not sure what pin I need to solder the wire to? Any help please. Thanks Maxby disneytoy - Controllers
Okay, my ramps came with a taped on diode. I understand to run the Ramps without the USB and with LCD etc. It needs this diode installed. Where do I solder it and which direction? Thanks. i think i read elsewhere even after it is installed i can attach the computer to the arduino with out any problems. correct? Thanks Maxby disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics

Though the LEDs come in a 5M strip. They are safely cut into 9 LED sections. Which I assume include the resistor. I believe in general use you just apply the 12v via a connector. No resistors are required. I'd prefer 1-2 LEDs, but the strips are cheap. Self adhesive. No soldering. I don't want just pretty lights. I imagine the colored light would give visual feedback. Well, I've loaded Marlin. In Repetier I can move my motors. They dont feel very torquey to my fingers. The a4988 are set as they came. What needs to be done to be sure ther a4988s are outputting the optimal power to the motors? My motors are :42BYGHW811 76oz/in 1.8° Step Angle •4800 g-cm holding torque @ 2.5A •4240 g-cm low speed torque •NEMA-17 Bipolar 4-wire Recommended Voltage 12 V Dby disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics

Gang! I'm running RAMPS 1.4 with an SD reader. I would like to be able to run g-code off a USB thumb drive rather than an SD CARD. Can the regular USB port on the Mega be used to read via the USB drive? I saw a module called: CH375B Module USB SPI interface Communication U-DISK Read Write For MCU DSP MPU Do I even need this? Any Thoughts Thanks Maxby disneytoy - Controllers
Hi Guys! I'm building a Delta. Is there a way to control a RGB LED from ther RAMPS 1.4 (multiple seperate would be nice). I'd like to be able to light the heated bed glass. Have the color change from Blue cold, to Red when it reaches temp. Maybe even a Blink when you are ready to print. I think it would be fun, and could be used as feedback, Maybe even a different color LED for PLA or ABS. Butby disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics
Hi! Yes, I understand about the equality of the arm lengths. I was mainly thinking with a handmade DIY delta, the J-head extends 3 inches or so from the bottom of the end effector plate. I bet a 1-2mm play from the mounting point would create a non perpendicular nozzle. Have you ever needed to hold a hand drill at a perfect 90 degrees to drill a straight hole. being out of level in any directiby disneytoy - Delta Machines
I just ordered Amazon's Octava brand 1.75mm BLACK ABS. Anyone use this recently? How is it. It will be my first filament, once my system is complete. Thanks Maxi! Also speaking off OPAQUE colors. Can someone recommend a Opaque RED filament? ABS or PLA. Thank you.by disneytoy - General
Hello Gang! Haven't printed yet. Have a reel of black Octava ABS, but also want to try PLA when I'm finally printing. What is a good manufacturer? Any to stay away from? moisture, filament voids, breaks? Thanks Maxiby disneytoy - General Mendel Topics
Good advice. I will use loctite. Its getting expensive getting all these misc things. Not just the ebay cost, but the time cost. I don't want to extend my build start time an extra week or two. Thanksby disneytoy - General Mendel Topics
Just wondering in the build process of a Delta. The J-head hangs down 3-4 inches. I understand about the auto bed leveling. but, how do you guys ensure the end effector and hot-end, are not skewed in a direction? even a couple degrees? Thanks Maxby disneytoy - Delta Machines
Hi! got my J-head in today from a far off land, China. Looks really nice. I ordered a 0.4mm nozzle for 1.75 mm filament. Looking down the barrel it looks large. how can I tell if the orifice is for 1.75mm or 3mm? How tight are the tolerances? So a 1.75mm filament rides inside a 2mm ID Bowden tube. I just don't want to buy a bunch of 1.75 filament and later realize I have the wrong J-Head. Thanby disneytoy - General Mendel Topics
Thanks. I ended up ordering the Sinks. What to use to adhere them to the chips?by disneytoy - General Mendel Topics
Rear of board has nothing on it. On the front, just resistors some caps and I think a voltage regulator. Final question, there are ground pins on the card.(SEE ABOVE PHOTO) Do I ignore the ground pin next to the 3.3v pin? Should I jumper both grounds together? Thanksby disneytoy - RAMPS Electronics
Hi! I'm adding a Poorman's Smart LCD controller. Basically wired a 2004 LCD, SD card reader and Rotary encoder to a RAMPS 1.4 (About $8). I do have the pinouts from the RAMPS 1.4 (Marlin). I hooked up the SD, am waiting for my LCD to arrive. I have this Encoder: I'm not sure about the Encoder.
