you turned the pot while the power was on?.. sounds like a bad driverby jinx - Reprappers
One was the e3d the other vid had a j head, don't know about gen6 am a ramps user, you need 12 v to run the e3d fan " I would run a dc-dc 12 volt STEPUP cheap enough of eBay,by jinx - General
QuoteIt is a shame that the e3d requires a fan not at all if using an atx PSU just find a 12v lead splice in a switch you good to gooo. if you were only gonna print with PLA it be the Jhead every time. but the E3D is "to rule them all" and to experiment with all kind off filament QuoteHave you done any printing with PLA using the J-Head or e3d? rolling off my chair not the most challengby jinx - General
I got the reprap uk jhead served me well before I got the E3D, reprap uk has a cracking customer service I crushed the inner lining through over tightening they sent me a spare next day, grab, there hobbed bolt" Raptor" aswell bloody brilliant it is for lining up the bite to the extruder hole. there nothing wrong with the E3D as well the only issue is down too users nowa days. have a peek for thby jinx - General
hi, QuoteYou know- when the plastic strings accross the print have a look at the extruder setting in slicer you need to alter the retraction setting . .8 worked well for me with a jhead printing at 180c.by jinx - General
thanks for that mattmoses clears things up for me,, my apologies for throwing an extra "S" into yr name.by jinx - General
HI, QuoteThe idea of RepRap may belong to everyone (and I think it does) but the website does not. The ability to post here is a privilege, not a right. with the greatest of respect to "matt mosses" and admins for doing a super job moderating the forum, but that lines just doesn't sit well with me, " cant even say why just doesn't. but surely the success of the RepRap sites comes from the verby jinx - General
Personally I like the ramps 1.3" solder it myself job" but the ramps1.4 are OK with a lot cheap china on the market be wary of buying to cheap.. the J head mkV get a genuine and stick to .35 nozzle many get the .5 and soon out grow it. " not knowing where you are,,hot end.com. times are moving fast and all metal like the E3D,hexagon both are well priced. So to recap don't be a CHEAP ass on the cby jinx - General Mendel Topics
no way yr motors should be getting that hot. have you set the pots on the driverby jinx - General Mendel Topics
Not a lot to go on, you set the end stop,,post the config.h file assuming you using marlin.by jinx - Reprappers
hi, almost done just to finish the extruder clamps. the extruder is for a J head hotend not sure you found these links yet " great build guide" loads to read, the software guide well worth a read gary hodgson visaul guide is another worthy read" more pic than reading when sourcing the hotend if you gotta buy it dont be cheap, get a genuine mkV Jhead worth every penny,by jinx - General
Quote a slap ,if you fail to learn yr parts you discovered engineglue tuts on utube,,, and you starve for couple off days!!by jinx - General
hi, Am close to finishing the parts " few smaller prints to do" its dawned on me last night that am not printing the original prusa i2. from the image the red parts are from the original prusa mendel i2 from git hub, the blue what turns the i2 into a mojo. the parts can be found on TGV. starting with the X ends: the carriage : Tensionable Y-belt : extruder "Greg's Wade reloaded": these mby jinx - General
hi, quick update printing going well, printing the vertex feet today smaller part later then the frame is done, few parts lifted on the corner but its no issue to the printer the E3D like yr filament 3Dkarmaby jinx - General
QuoteI can change the nozzle is not better? doesn,t make alot sense to me but the E3D have varies size nozzle you can change .25 fine details . .6 for brick work.by jinx - General Mendel Topics
Hi, you got a pic of the damaged part, thought it would take a hell of lot pressure to do what you described, I be tempted to take it apart again rebuild it. Am a huge fan of E3D, but there seems a new hot end in town it appears to me to be close to j head in size " am still looking for specs". Lacks a fan at the mo. But the price ain't bad.by jinx - General Mendel Topics
how many times you wraping the tape round ,I use K tape with no issue, I,ve wrapped it round at least ten times, thermistor aint never coming lose.by jinx - General
Speed not the issue , still no retraction setting " hiding under the extruder setting" alter that to .1 for now.while testing set the speeds to 20mm/s infill and perimeters.by jinx - Printing
Hi, What speed you printing at, do you use slic3r what retraction set at.by jinx - Printing
I print with 1.75 filament PLA " QuoteWhat is the best E3D-v5 or MkV? is a close one to call "for me at least". The mkV jhead gives better support for the prints, but the E3D will let you use any filament on the market. so if you only gonna use PLA the mkV wins.. you want future proofing then its the E3D.by jinx - General Mendel Topics
drivers look like their install right at least the ground in the right placeby jinx - Reprappers
which diameter filament is best?" think that boils down to personal choice in a lot of ways, pla at 1.75 " what i use " been brilliant, on the other hand soft, flex 3 mm is easier to work with I've read, if you can wangle a j head mkV as it possible to change the inner liner from 1.75 to 3mm " a bit of an aggro at time but possible. but for best option drop E3D an email for an 3mm for a good allby jinx - General
hi, 3dkarma a generous offer not spoken to sean about this idea donate the plastic to me and I,ll print the whole machine, that is unless other are coming forward with parts " having me print the whole machine will eliminate any issue of size between printers. I can forward the remaining filament onto Sean. have a little experience in printing the prusa mendel.by jinx - General
mrs Marie Hayes OBE now on her mission to raise a further million then you don't need my charity . but sometimes we just gotta do things on faith!!. here's my small contribution the Y brackets are little ropey but they will clean up ok and hold, until you have the chance to print another set " which is a must to have a spare set". you really should set up a google site for this. it will serveby jinx - General
yea I use the ramps + and just soldered the two motor onto one connector lead job doneby jinx - Reprappers
i done it on the Z of a prusa mendel,, curious to know how you gonna mount a second motor on the Yby jinx - Reprappers
drop an email to see if they can donate some filament, and they can only say no, but its a worthy cause and the publicity want hurt themby jinx - General
what does the RSPCA want with a printer a beak for a duck?. I can do the bar clamp and the frame vertex, but who's payin the postage? think it be wise to have the xends and carriage printed from the same printer,, if there no joy in having a group print the parts i do the lot for £20 "price of the fillament".by jinx - General
