Quotedust depends on school size, which isn't mentioned. want matter that, they becoming to cheap to hire teachers you think they hire a technician to monitor a room full of printers?by jinx - General
at least one in the main reception area, then they can do away with those wasteful fish tanks appearing in academies around manchester. then at least 3 more in its IT departments.by jinx - General
Quoteandornot I am looking for a beta tester of this product anybody interested? I be interested in testingby jinx - General
well we can ignore the reddit link that would happen no matter what plastic was used for parts. pla parts 1 1/2 years of active printing further 2 years in storage no cracks no deterioration on inspection PLA does just fine for me and many others more pla parts lets be honest we aint going to be shoving a printer in a dishwasher either, even sunshine-safe not completely accurate eby jinx - General
Quoterossos You should really avoid using PLA for your printer frame (especially the hotend holder), I suggest ABS or PETG. whyby jinx - General
Quoteorbitalair What do you guys think of that? Too high? Reasonable? age old question of 3DP, how much is one's time worth. I guess variation in cost and prices comes down to who doing the printing and there reasons, take me as a hobbyist which doesnt have the over heads a company has too cover so can offer to print for the cost of filament and the joy of printing. a company in someways havby jinx - General
Quotedeckingham Given that most beds have some form of heat spreader which needs to be a good conductor of heat, these tend to be aluminium and not ferrous metal. So how is a flexible magnet going to adhere then? what I envisage, is the kit comes with two magnetic sheet with a 3M sticky backing one for the bed and the second with PEI sheet attachedby jinx - General
I have interest for the standard 220,220 bed. to be honest the price tag little worrying, for he cheap ass in me. how much would a second top section ?by jinx - General
Quotegrey I'm new to this so it was about to be a very short lived hobby at those prices the first printer always costly, 2nd gets cheaper not a £1000 mind you not for a hypercube, think if i had nothing thou i risk £130 on one of those prusa clones print the parts for the Hcube then rob it out for the mech & tronics parts.by jinx - General
both over 1000 pounds!!! gold and diamond filament.... i can do it between £14 or £28 for multi colour + beer PM me if you dont get a better offerby jinx - General
QuoteDj Got any links? I've tried hard to find these mythical kevlar reinforced belts with no success, perhaps I'm not good at finding things. this it ?by jinx - General
Quotemelty Wouldn't the benchmark system be the Filastruder - $300US ? NO as much as I like my filastruder its only half the solution, the ability to grind up the prints then turn those flakes back into pellets I think the hurdle, even filastruder guys mention problems with flakes getting caught between the auger and barrel which can stall an extruder, and a good man eating grinder can cost aby jinx - General
QuoteSJames I am from Czech Republic and there are plastics producers who are selling 1kg of pellets about 3 times cheaper than filaments are can believe it , had some nice PLA from that part of the world a while back, but something happens on the way to the rest of us in the EU ! postage and VAT seems to wipe out any saving then on top of that we have to make the stuff... dont get me wrong aby jinx - General
QuoteSJames 2) It is very cheap to buy plastic pellets in comparison with filaments that depends where you are in the world, it cheaper to buy a budget spool than 1kg of pellets in the UK,by jinx - General
think I start by by unhooking the Pi, bltouch and thermistors, then see if there any kind of blinky from the 5 leds via USBby jinx - General
QuoteDj Stronger - no, stiffer - yes, does a good job of looking engineered and hiding the layer lines lookin good I strained an eye looking for the layers , what layer height you testing with? I thought it would be stronger than the normal stuff, was thinking the whole point of carbon filaments was an increase in strength.... you taking snaps of the hobbed gear with each print we looking for tby jinx - General
QuoteDj V6 dyze design water block roughly adapted to v6 heatsink so not that posh have to go google it, gave up on the notion of adding water cooling, fear of springing a leak! but more so thought it would hamper movement especially on a delta.by jinx - General
QuoteTrakyan From what I know, those are plastic plates, not aluminium. I saw a couple of video reviews and people said it's plastic, plus it cracked like plastic. recall the same thing seeing a review with broken parts. VDX that is some inspiring work there in the vids the Movtex-xy vid "thought that was quite ingenious method of travel on the Y axis would that hold up for a spindle?by jinx - General
I hate VAT! we brits need to start a campaign to get 3DP exempt from the vat man, start comparing prices with our merican cousins feels like we being robbed when you add watercooling bit posh that is ,, that on a V6 or a titan aero?by jinx - General
QuoteDj I just ordered my first roll to try out technology outlet carbon petg. that's the spirit bud, look forward to reading/seeing your results... never heard of tech.outlet before not a bad price for a spool of carbon petg either cheaper than my first search results.by jinx - General
QuoteTrakyan Currently looking at around $250 USD for a machine with around 1mx1m cutting area from what I've been reading your budget low for the size of machine you planning even with ali offering, its gonna get eaten on a good set of ball screws, nema 23 and a spindle " hope am wrong and good luck with the build"by jinx - General
VDX you got a build blog for them, like the small one on the right, " got a vid of it in action". while researching I realised I should have gone with a static bed rather than moving the job back and forth but used what I had in the scrap box!by jinx - General
QuoteMKSA First, please don't call that a CNC, there are just computer driven routers computer driven routers?? aint that a box that connects a series of computers together with a connection to the web? don't be such an angry IMP have some coffeeee second I referred to my effort as a play thing, so no need to add words and my final goal is to CNC route circuit board, So it still be CNC,CNC,Cby jinx - General
QuoteDj Poorly perhaps but then something like a brass gear, such as used in a Mk8 is a cheap and easy to replace part. Its the argument for hardened nozzles, worth it if they perform as well, and are not massively more costly. Otherwise, a £3 brass nozzle replaced every other spool is a small ongoing cost. hear what you sayin but replacing a titan hobbed gear gets pricey at £22 a pop " for a gby jinx - General
QuoteDj Testing it aside, why does a hobbed drive gear need to be hardened. Is mild steel not hard enough to bite into filament. wondering how the standard fairs with a couple of spools of carbon filament.by jinx - General
when it comes to small desktop I think Myfordboy on youtube nailed it and he pimped the hell out of his banggood offering, he got a whole series of vid of whats involved and a home metal shop to help... but if this is just for a learning exercise into the software involved in cnc operation then aint it a case competing with those small rigs like this which from all accounts just aint that good.by jinx - General

I aim for a 20.4mm cube every time, that way when I print an object which need to sink a M3 nut in to a print, it go without to much fuss. Could it be the variation of .2 - .4 within the errors of the calliper's? personally I not get to hung up on those reading if the prints look good more so if the axis are even.by jinx - General Mendel Topics
now you know how to update the screen, may I suggest you switch to the win tile style, it more complete and reliable with a filament change compared to red or blue style. its just a more cheerful screen to viewby jinx - General
