its remarkable how consistent the wiggly is my question is what extuder are you using ?? my guess is its too regular to be heat related . Id take a good look at your extuder ...maybe an oval hobbed bolt or bent but this wiggle is too fine to be directly related to the hobbed bolt but it has to be something in the extuder to be so regular in occuranceby bigfilsing - Printing

or badly crimped connections on your stepper motor molex connectorsby bigfilsing - Firmware - mainstream and related support
try swapping your X and Y stepper motors . If the problem moves from the X axis to the Y axis then chances are you have 1 bad/ weak stepper motor coil in your stepper motorby bigfilsing - Firmware - mainstream and related support
well if the symptoms are the same if you try the same motor on the y and x axis then chances are its your stepper motor. Check the cables and molex connections be carfull you dont burn out your electronics driver !! Ive never used a ramps 14 board but on my gen6 its turn anticlockwise till the motor stalls then trun clockwose til it just starts to run then 1/8 or a turn more. one reason for your temp spikes could be either a bad temp sensor or its not making proper contact with the print head or its shorting out ( on the print head) The fact you can manually adjust it doesn,t support the above or is it an intermittent problem that just leaves you thinking your manual intervention has worked . I had a similar problem a few weeks back when the screw came loose thaby bigfilsing - General Mendel Topics
think it may be false economy Boris you'll really be pushing the standard PSU with 2 machines and also create a single point failure that kills 2 machines . Not ideal for manufacturingby bigfilsing - General Mendel Topics
motors tremoring sounds like current is set to low end stop ..micro switches have 3 connection points C - NC - NO C ( sometimes COM) = common > your signal input wire NC = normally closed > if the switch is not activated/ pressed you will have signal here NO = normally open > if the switch is not activated you will NOT have a signal here when the switch is pressed NC & NO swap soby bigfilsing - General Mendel Topics

hi what you need to know is the pitch of the thread your using see Metric thread ptich i,e how much your Z axis will raise ( or lower depending on which way you turn it) by 1 revolution of your rod then depending on whether you have direct drive ( 2 stepper motors , 1 above each rod directly connected) or single drive ( 1 stepper motor driving a belt that turns the Z rods simultaneously) youby bigfilsing - Firmware - mainstream and related support

Hi im looking for similar for a gen6 d board if anybody knows of a reasonable step by step ( sorry to jump on your thread ravener)by bigfilsing - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi thanks that certainly has got me thinking. ill give it a try and see what happens. i guess even if it doesn't "save" to the board i could always include the command at the start of my G code now off to look for the "view config" commandby bigfilsing - Firmware - mainstream and related support
hi bandit how you getting on with compiling and uploading ?? I too am new to this stuff. I'm trying to calibrate my extruder and need to adjust in the config file then upload apparently. so far i have figured out that you can load any one of the files and the whole set loads into IDE currently getting a few errors when compiling but ill figure that out i would also like to back up what i haby bigfilsing - Firmware - mainstream and related support
