Ive done 2 great prints at 270c with neon green ABS 3mmby Floyd - Printing
Im starting to print all of Jand's files slowly as I find time.by Floyd - CoreXY Machines
Quotedmould I'm not sure that is a satisfactory workaround for a "memory leak" bug :-) I just loaded a 61meg STL of the Ford engine block on thingaverse into slic3r v1.2.0 and it only raised the ram level by half a gig. Once deleted the ram stayed at the current level until Slic3r was closed... Unless you only have 1-2gigs of ram in your machine this is not really a big deal IMO. Just close slicby Floyd - Slic3r
Agreed, it does looks like he has only one top layer. I use 3-4 top/bottom layers depending on the part.by Floyd - Printing
Decrease from 200c?! If anything you might be too cold. I was extruding ABS last night at 270c for a test and normally 230-240c for most prints. I bet if you fill with 30-50% it wont happen. ABS doesnt like to cross gaps from what ive seen.by Floyd - Printing
I highly agree with number 2. I ALWAYS heat my bed, home then heat the hot end.by Floyd - General
Ill try this as well since I have an all metal hot end. I just had a 4.5 hour print crack on me in about 3 places at 230c.by Floyd - Printing
I do inside first then move out. Normally at least 2 perimeters but sometimes 3-4 depending on the part.by Floyd - General
Get more ram for the PC... Its cheap and plentiful. 2gigs shouldn't be an issue on a modern PC.by Floyd - Slic3r
Might try bumping the heat a bit, I thought that stuff liked it more towards 212c?by Floyd - Printing
True. If your foam cleaner is falling apart it might be ending up in the extruder.by Floyd - Printing
3mm/sec is uncalled for. Even 30mm/sec is slow for most.by Floyd - Printing
The thought did cross my mind but id hope that no one would try to place 1.75mm filament into a 3mm hot end!by Floyd - Printing
You set the bed size but did you set your 0,0 on the software? Also check that you dont have it scaled by default.by Floyd - Slic3r
I bet you dont have a fan cooling your hot end all the time.by Floyd - Printing
Well maybe because you have your support angle set to 0* Try about 50*-60*by Floyd - Printing
Or whatever was in your hot end jamming it up is still in there...by Floyd - Printing
How fast are you printing this at? Id print a part like that at 30-40mm/secby Floyd - Printing
Wow California sucks! I went to my local Lowes here in FL and they had glass and cut it too for about $1.50 a sheet. 1.5mm thick.by Floyd - General Mendel Topics
215C and 90c is a bit cold for ABS I print my ABS at 230c and 110c.by Floyd - Printing
The new one with the rails instead of rods is much better IMO. I have the rods and when my Y axis moves it makes a horrible rattling sound. Guy at work got the new version and its butter smooth and quiet to boot.by Floyd - General Mendel Topics

230 Is too hot for such a small part. Try 220 and print at least two of them.by Floyd - Printing
You need support to print that upper flange.by Floyd - Printing
I can confirm that purple glue straight on glass works wonders. But I only use ABS so im unsure on PLAby Floyd - Printing
Get cooling on that heatsink NOW! All metal hot ends need active cooling on the fins!by Floyd - Printing
Im using a 4gig card without issues just FYI...by Floyd - Firmware - mainstream and related support
No worries! I find that printing too fast with ABS creates a ton of issues with layers bonding.by Floyd - Printing
+/- about .2mm is fairly good.by Floyd - Printing
