Hi, Can you post a complete photo of the acrylic panels? Loved the idea to use magnets to secure the panels. This is a great solution to the central panel to have easy access to the electronics. How many magnets you are using for each panels? there are strong enough to not fall down with the print vibrations? review of the E3D Titan made by my favorite German (Thomas Sanladerer):by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
the SmartRapCore design. reasons: - the wood frame provide a good rigidity, absorve some of the noise and vibrations. - cheap: +/- 350 euros - already semi enclosed - easy to build ps: for printing well with abs you need to have a full enclosure, and put all the electronics (minus motors) outside the enclosure.by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Hi, Normally i do the next steps to configure each of my steppers: -use a voltmeter, and configure the stepper with 0.6/0.7v -increase the voltage until the motor start to move well (use the motor noise to find the sweet spot) -add +0.1v to the steppers to be more stable. normally is necessary a voltage between 0.7 to 0.9v. With the configuration the motor and steppers will run cold (no more 50ยบby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Yes, most of the printers use printed parts, but this does not means is a good idea to use plastic everywhere. This is done because is easy to print, cheap and not a lot o person was access to a cnc to make aluminium parts. My printer have lots of printed parts and recently i have build a cnc (mpcnc) was main goal replace all this parts with aluminium. But in the case of these corners is a diffeby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
some corexy kit you can buy: USA: PORTUGAL (my country) : (good printers for the price and they have the option to sell them already build without be to expensive) In my opinion corexy are not very popular because they are a more expensive and for someone new they can appear to be complicate. Prusa are cheap and simple to understand, and delta can be cheap and have the cool factor.by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
great question... why plastic brackets in the corners? If the objective to use plastic corner it to go cheap, them is better solution to simply make holes in the middle of the aluminium extrution and use screws to make the connection. simple and overall a great solution:by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
I read that the E3D clone is a question of luck, you can get a good unit or not. For me this is a component where you can not go cheap, i only buy the original ones. ps: the video and the photo are very good..by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Can you post a photo of the layer problem. But normally this is a problem related with missing step because overheat (too high voltage) or not enough force (too low voltage of the steppers).by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
lots of problems with theses igus bearings.. Personally i very please with theses bearings and the only complain/problem i have found was the find the correct force to apply on the screws. But your are not the first person to complain about this and i think is the best to add this info in the page of the printer to inform other persons. I sorry about these igus, i have indicated them on the priby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Not easy to see because of the color of the pla. From the feats of the marvin the layers appears to be very uniform, you have some cooling problems because of the missing fan. You need to print something with lots of retractions to check if your bowdem extrduer works correctly. Overall is a great first print..by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Cables guides, all cables with a perfect length. Very nice and clean... my cables of my printer are a mess in relation to yours. two suggestions: 1) endstops: I prefer the endstop without red plastic wheel and metal. reasons: better precision and you can gain some mm in the axis. 2) Yours printed pieces that secure the belt are not in contact with the carriage and your are losing some mm in theby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Quotecozmicray Does firmware / software allow for dual extruder separated in Y? yes, but not in the firmware. in the slider you configure where (x, y) is the second hotend in relation to the first.by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
QuoteNosmo The stops are when the Z-axis moves down one layer. Ok, now the stop make sense... QuoteNosmo How much tension do the belts need? They are reasonably tight at the moment but I can still pull them about 10mm towards me at the point where the cross (mid-front), they are not so tight that you can use them as piano strings. both belt must have the same tension and must have a good tensby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Hi, In the video they are some type of stops of the carriage, is only a problem with the video?by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Quotesimon_smithson Biggest issue I'm currently having is with the extruder. I'm currently using a single direct drive. It seems to go wildly from under to over extruding. Not entirely convinced that having the print spool at the bottom of the machine and a length of PTFE tubing is the best approach for me, so I might shift the filament holder to the top of the machine. Hi, Sure, you can putby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
with the MKS SBase is not possible to put these steppers, but it can go with two dampers on the x and y motors. It help to reduce the vibration and noise. if you are going with an single hotend you can replace the printed piece that secure the hotend with this one:by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Unobtanium.. hahaha... good name! I like your cable arrangement and your z endstop, very clean solutions. One question: you are going with an enclosure, then why the little black panel at bottom and not go directly with the enclosure solution? I see you have an E3D v6 to print abs too. It will be nice if you put a complete enclosure on top, you can go with the chain cable solution David was useby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Hi, The igus bearing are not easy to install because the casing is all plastic, in my printer i managed to install on both X and Y axis. On the Y axis i have zero play and in the carriage there is less of 1mm of play but is necessary to apply an good amount of force. I pretty sure there are not good for a CNC or something like this, but for 3d printing they do the job fine. The main problem on iby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Is going well... Motedis is a great chop, good quality aluminium and cuts are very precise.by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
@Lucianog: The problem only happens on the Y axis? if one belt have less tension to the other, the printer will start to print squares in an orthogonal shape? Lucianog was give no information of is printer and in what position the object was printed, i think is necessary more info about how is was printed.by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Hi, I think is not a problem related with belt tension, each motor x and y move the carriage in a 45 degree line. If one of the belt was less tension, you print will have some layer out of place, but still print in a 90 degree overall. This is a strange problem... First obvious question, is your printer structure is ok? all corner have a perfect 90 degree? Maybe in your firmware the value of sby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
not having it installed will not affect the print quality, but it help the z thread rod to rotate a little more perfectly when the bed is on the bottom of the printer and reduce the vibrations when the bed move fast. I have installed on my printer because to me is better to have it, i think David is not using this spindle on is printer. I have added again the spindle to the 123dx project and moby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
Yes, it was for the z spindle. In the first version the z motor was on the top, them i moved to the bottom. I actually using this spindle on my printer only because i already have printed before and helps a little to center the z screw, but is not something is necessary. At this point i can update the bom file and remove the bearing or upload a new version of the project with the spindle. What oby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
My first printer was an prusa steel, buyed the kit online from spain (createc3d). The printer was nice overall, but the print quality far to be the best and very noisy. Builded the next enclosure: The enclosure helped to reduse the noise, but was very big and almost impossible to move.by filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
I will fallow your build and hope you do not fallow too much my design and come with some new ideas i can use too About the enclosure, i have used 7 panels. I have one panel at the bottom of the printer to protected the electronics and is not visible in the photos or video. I have uploaded all panels on the page on the printer (thingiverse), but i pretty sure you can not directly use the designby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines

Already have several setups on the same printer; bowden mk8, direct mk8 and my actual is a dual mk8 direct extruder: +/- 800gr. You can check photos and setup changes on the g&c printer thread. If you are plannig to go dual extruder like me then is better to go 10mm on both x an y axis. This was something i was considering to do, but so far i never see any problem on my prints. ps: the materby filipeCampos - CoreXY Machines
