Well, I've been wanting a milling machine for a little while now, and I finally talked myself into making an investment that will never pay for itself. Not a Bridgeport but I think it will suit my needs for long while. Mmm Chinesium. Grizzly g0672 with dro added. I did look for used Bridgeport first, but all of them in the $2500 price range were rust buckets... plus, a Bridgeport weighs 2500lbs..by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Can't seem to find any 17mm aluminum stock. Are you planning to turn some down on a lathe.... or are you going to try steel( I could find 17mm tool steel)? I imagine that will be harder to machine.by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Hi, if the hot end is not up to temperature the extruded will function.by Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
I've done a ton of upgrades to my delta over the years and none has had the impact going from a Rambo to a duetWifii has had. The support and community are also outstanding...by Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
Thanks! I would have taken you up on your offer, but I got the teflon off eBay... as it was a lot more reasonable that $125....by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
That is insane..l i forgot to check on ebay for some time reasonby Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Looks like it would cost around $125 for the teflon... ehhhh Where did you get yours from?by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Ok, I can get some teflon blocks and do something similar but with teflon... I don't need teeth on the upper pulley?? I thought I saw that The Digital Dentist had them top and bottom. If that's the case I'll just swap the toothed pulley out with two flanged bearings....by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
if you use springs, won't the tension from the spring prevent wobble? Or. what if you put teflon tape ard undo the screw threads?by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Another round of updates. I have figured out the z axis belt tensioning. As you can see the bottom belt enters a printed block and then exits back out the bottom. I used another piece of belt along size to make sure it doesn't slip out. On the top, i have a screw and captive nut that pushes down on a block to pull the belt tight. I designed the part with some grooves so that it can't pop out.by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
I have seen some nice prints from the nimble.... McHackney posted a few over at the seemecnc forums...by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Very interesting read. I thought i read this before, but that was in relation to ball-grove rods... i will have to make an adjustment and watch for gains, From what i've gathered her the drivers on the duet wifi are already in fast decay mode?by Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
i decided to go with mic6... about 125 delivered. I'm going to do the spring thing.....by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
I've printed pla at 250c by accident before, you won't hurt anything by bumping up your temps 10 degrees at a time you see if it makes a difference. I'd also recommend getting a digital multimeter with a thermocouple so you can verify the hot end temp. I had my thermistor set up correctly but the temps were still off by 10c... You should get a 90 degrees square and check to make sure your bed isby Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
Do you consider home made cupcakes to be homemade only if the maker milled the grain into flour?by Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
Guys, atp-5 vs mic-6 for the bed? I read that atp-5 was about 5% lighter than mic 6 but that otherwise they are the same... except for atp-5 is about 2/3 of the price of mic 6. So, what do you think? Also, for a bed approximately 18" square, will 3/8" be thick enough?by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Hi. I am not sure if this printer has a heated bed, but if it does its possible that your print temperature is slightly low. When the nozzle is close to the heated bed, it doesn't loose as much heat is the filament is extruded through it, but once it raises above the bed a little bit, the air is cooler up there and the extruded jams a little bit, causing this under extrusion. Try boosting your teby Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
in the version i had saw of this (and i assumed the was the same one) the bottom of the printer folds down, and a piece of paper is slide onto the bottom of the printer, and then the bottom folds up. The paper is held in place between the bottom that moves back up and the frame of the printer. like a clampby Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
You could possibly figure out a way to coat the paper in hairspray and then abs would stickby Qdeathstar - Delta Machines
Happens on my sets from time to time.. could be belt slippage though, which this wouldn't help.by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
But, sometimes a bit of plastic can caused skip steps... having the ability to get back to even would have advantages..by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Prototypical, it might be useful to ask for help at arduino.cc forums, they might be able to help.by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
I don't think anyone is calling you an idiot.... you are too sensitive. What i saw was someone asking questions and giving you something to consider. Wood expands when it is heated and warps over time... not a good thing when you are talking about a printer which requires preciseness. But if you like working the wood, go for it. That is what reprap is about.by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
I got this hazard fraught But I know there are better ones out thereby Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
It's interesting I've never had a problem with ABS delaminating even without an enclosure, just warping... thin walled abs should be even less susceptible to delamination since there is less chance for differential cooling.. I even add a small amount of cooling (like for printing pla) when I'm printing something small or with a large top shell....by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Ah, I understand now. I am going to have do some thinking then, my design is different so i can't pull up on the top pully or down on the drive pulley. I may need to do some redesign. Thanks!by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
The Digital Dentist, how did you tension the Z-axis? You described the method for the previous design with all the pulleys.. but not for the current design. Thanks!by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
Why not just release the actual models? If you own the molds for the gearing, it's not like people who haven't bought a zesty can build one.....by Qdeathstar - CoreXY Machines
