Hi, Im still here, if not active Sadly im away for the Bristol Model Engineering and Hobbies Exhibition, However im still open to resurrecting the group in the near future (September when hollidays are over?) Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
Use the lathe, Start by back drilling the back of your nozzle Verify your tail stock is on centre Make 100% sure your face is smooth and has no signs of previous attempts or a centre pip to make the drill wander, C/ drill with a small centre drill (you only need a pin prick, no more as you want to lose it when you drill through, Then pop the .3mm drill in a pin chuck if your normal chuck wonby ijmok - Reprappers
Hi, So I'm nearing completion of my new Reprap, it's a custom design but I'm pleased with progress, Frame is 20x20 Extrusion with infill panels of either Dibond or Clear Acrylic, Running Ramps 1.4 I've had XYZ & all my end stops running off a 1A wall plug to test them and now need to progress to putting in a proper power supply, I have a 24V 25A unit for my heated bed, then a 24-12V 10A sby ijmok - Reprappers
I will be up at the Makerfair, Will come and say hi Time & life isn't letting me do anything, my machine has been collecting dust since christmas Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hi all, Good to see everyone has been busy, Good work Paul I will be looking into that, heat is a hot topic for my new printer, Hamish I look forward to being able to purchase a watch off you in the near future, it’s great to see another project that is made possible by repraping I Have to confess I’m most interested Nick, trust business is going well if you’re pushed to building new machinesby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hello all Thought It would be good to get this thread going again, see what people have been up to, I’m thinking of trying to organise another meet up at some point, no idea on dates yet, but potentially use the scout hut (being as its free to me) So what’s everyone been up to since November, Personally I’m accepting my Prusa is nearing the end in its current form, it’s getting ever more tempeby ijmok - West of England RUG
Don’t try and solider it with normal electrical solider, I guess you could find soem high temp stuff that might work but cheaper and easier either Crimp it or get hold of some terminal blocks This sort of thing: I tend to drip the plastic cover off as that can melt too, cover them up with a little bit of kapton tape so they can’t come into contact with the frame, I use smaller ones to conneby ijmok - Reprappers
Hose Clamp!, That quite an achievement, the only way I can get the threads undone on my mk4-b is by putting the Peek in a lathe chuck, setting it to a low gear and getting a big Spanner to the brass bit, Even with screwed up threads you should be able to see light through the nozzle, ABS seems to burn after a while and form a hard black substance, it’s a nightmare to get off, especially when iby ijmok - General
I assume your printing ABS by your temps, Stand it in a jar of acetone (your wife’s nail varnish remover will do) Let it sit over night and hopefully the ABS will dissolve out and it will become free again, you should be able to see a pin prick of light through it, Take the PTFE liner out and check your filament pushes through easily, if not then run a drill through it to ease it off (but notby ijmok - General
Sounds good Paul Time and Work permitting i may try and visit Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
22/23rd is no good for me, Im Visiting a Common Reprap Haunt (Ledbury) on Scout camp. I suspect my machine is to frail, and late september will be to cool for me to join via a webcam from my mess tent Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hi Mortimer, Initial look says your Hobbled bolt is out of alignment with your filament, At a guess, you looks like you may be struggling to remove washers from behind your gears to fix it, Personally, and I’m aware I’m not the only user who has had issues with this I’ve turned my bolt 180 to put the error in the other direction and allowed me to pack it with washers on the back, then i use aby ijmok - West of England RUG
Just a quick post to say Slic3r 0.9.0 is out Initial impressions, Well ive only sliced and printed one object but the interface is much better, and the way settings are saved is much better, Instant improvement in top surfaces, and it sliced it so fast i thought it had just generated perimeters of something, but no it has output the whole file Thanks Robby ijmok - Slic3r
Hi Paul, I’m hoping to make the 26th, Children or Grandchildren only! What about those of us who are very immature! Although I suspect one trip to Newport is sufficient for a weekend Looking forward to it, I had a magical moment the other night, I finally printed my first replacement extruder (and herringbone gears) Monday evening Few first layer issues but I think my tape was dying, just inby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hi, Thanks Stuart for the meet up, it was good to see more Repapers moving forward so well with their builds, Handy to have someone with a vested interest in progressing repraping, and a easy access venue. Marlin is definitely worth having a play with, i didn’t know about the varying PID parameters though, I assumed as originally marlin was derived from Sprinter they would be the same, i will hby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hi, Thanks Rich for organising a great meetup, its always interesting to see what people have been up to and explore where we all want to go with this, As always a bare minimum of actual printing was completed I got home and did something mad to consolidate many of my thoughts (becoming a bit or a ritual), in this case 4 hours or cad just about did the trick! Just Re-configured X axis level &by ijmok - West of England RUG
Looking forward to it, (especially the Chili) See you tomorrow Robby ijmok - West of England RUG

Thanks Rich, Looking forward to it Normally a camp chair in my car anyway so that might be handy Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hey, Thanks Hamish for hosting again, and apologies for my early arrival, Looking forward to the Next Events, but the fire safety and extensions is a good point for any venue. Sweaving, im sure you would be most welcome, personally i cant say ive met a cupcake in the flesh before, im most intrigued, Robby ijmok - West of England RUG

Hi Tbod, Check the other thread, potential meeting in July down at Exeter, someone from "up north" will be passing Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hi Stewart, That's the only day in July I can't do as well, I might be able to make it for a bit but I know I need to be back in Cheltenham for late afternoon. Still up for a trip down at some point, as Hamish says, if anyone comes it’s got to be worth it for you and whoever appears. Is it worth a post in General to redirect anyone in the area, being as there is lots going on? WOE RUG isn’tby ijmok - West of England RUG
Hi, I tried it all this afternoon, but i settled on gregteds response, many thanks, First block off with the new XY steps is 20.01 x 20.00 Thank you Sublime, i updated it using Prusa's calculator from measured print values. My belts were slightly mis aligned, no noticeable improvements but i cant see it to be a bad thing. My circular test piece was nicely oval im just testing to see if thisby ijmok - Reprappers
26th Aug in my Diary Thanks Paul Stewart, Exeter sounds good, but i get the feeling a weekend may be easier as its a little trek down, still up for it though Date wise the grab a date and see who shows up is the only route that seems to work At this rate we will be due a Birthday meet on the 7th of sept before we know it, to celebrate the WOE RUG becoming active, Printer problem solved thisby ijmok - West of England RUG
Cant wait, I've already developed a bug that i need a second, third and forth opinition on how to fix Robby ijmok - West of England RUG
Cheers Guys i will do some testing tomorrow and report back. Belt angles is something i cant say ive checked, especialy on the Y, its shunted over to allow me to house a server psu under there so it could be that. Lash I find less likely, my Y belt makes a better twang (technical term here!) than my X, but the X prints better (closer to size) - i will check this and test it as mentioned for inby ijmok - Reprappers
Thanks gregted & Sublime Ive set my flow rate up as in Richrap's slic3r tutorial, and i accept i will fine tune it to get the sizes exact But im not printing a Square here, its oblong If you pop the callipers over it the Y is most definitly shorter by 0.5mm or so than the X Its been like this for the last few ive printed, if they were both shrunk by a common factor (taking into account aby ijmok - Reprappers
