Does anyone have experience with the Rapman (from Bits from Bytes)? I have read it is based upon the Darwin, but users seem to be happy with it. It does offer the advantage of 2 print heads, and I don't think I've seen that on other printers.by stackman - Reprappers

I have a small wind tunnel, and I wanted to use the prints to build models to put in my wind tunnels. It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth, but something reasonable that approximates steel cylinders.by stackman - Reprappers

Thank you bryanandaimee. You mentioned that you have built a Makerbot and Prusa. What is your opinion of Makerbot versus Prusa? I realize its purely superficial, but the Markbot packaging is very visually appealing. It is one of the reasons I'm intereseted in Ultimaker, it looks cool!by stackman - Reprappers

I've only seen pictures of models produced with 3D printers. If you make a cylinder on a 3D printer, would the surface of the cylinder be smoother or would it have ridges? I realize there are probably different settings, but is it possible to get a fairly smooth cylindrical part?by stackman - Reprappers

I'm new to 3D printing, and have been trying to come up to speed on the options available. I'm looking to buy a kit or completed printer that is somewhat idiot proof, because if the build is too involved I know that I will not have the time to see it through to completion.
