amoss did you ever solve your problem? I am having the EXACT same problem as you - where the arduino works fine, but pluggin in the RAMPS shuts it off. I would assume there's a short in the RAMPS, but I bought mine pre-assembled. I'm going to contact mixshop (where I got it). Note: I inspected it thoroughly and there doesn't appear to be any shorts.by pwn4 - RAMPS Electronics

I would assume there is some reason, since keeping the bars below would increase the amount of Z axis movement allowable. Got mine as well. Quality seems good, but the pulleys also did not fit on the motor shaft. I precariously put both gears in a wooden vice and drilled out the inside with my hand drill (slowly, carefully) without too much issue. They fit on now fine, but the motor shafts are metric and I used a standard drill bit so the fit isn't perfect. I think they'll be fine though.by pwn4 - Reprappers
I just bought a prusa kit from them. I had some questions about compatibility with Prusa V2 parts, and the Greg's Accessible extruder parts, and they were very informative, friendly, and included an extra bolt that I needed for the extruder. Hasn't arrive yet, just shipped a few days ago and I'm in Vancouver, but we'll see. I hope the hot end and the hobbed bolt are okay, after reading this threby pwn4 - General
Very nice! I had been thinking about a rack and pinion for a little while. If the gear's teeth mesh with the rack well then there should be no backlash - but that will also depend I guess on the geometry of the teeth, moreso when you're going at very high speeds. Unfortunately for me I'm getting in on RepRap a little later, and I'm still waiting on the rest of my parts to arrive before I can makby pwn4 - General

So then, the oozing problems are solved just by printing really fast, and maybe retracting a tiny bit?by pwn4 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I haven't heard or seen any big eureka blog posts or youtube videos that say the Bowden extruder system is a solid improvement over Wade's or Greg's Accessible Wade's extruder. Have the oozing problems been unanimously fixed by retracting filament in the z axis? Are there any downsides left at all with the system? Does anyone actually know if it really provides a speed advantage over the motor-onby pwn4 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Shipping isn't too bad - I ordered 5 belts 2 sprockets on april 9th, it was shipped on April 13th, and I guess 'cause I live in Canada and didn't pay for faster shipping it's been in transit. They gave me a UPS tracking number, though, which is nice. It went from ohio, to indiana, to illinois, to washington, and has arrived here in Richmond, BC yesterday. The last entry on the log says "Departuby pwn4 - Reprappers
For anyone that wants to know, I found a way to fix the problem. Use the method I outlined above, but then you have to extrude the faces that you create (even just by a tiny amount like .01 along the z axis) I guess to flesh them out. At some point when I have my machine and can test the prints I'll make a tutorial on YouTube for other freeCAD usersby pwn4 - Look what I made!
Hi Guys, so I've taken to freeCad as I'm getting the hang of it, and wanted to make a bolt and nut (this one is round... it's just a test) while I wait for my reprap parts to arrive. Attached is a picture - I used parametric helix objects, offset them, and then used "Create a ruled surface between two curves" to flesh out the threads. I think it works pretty well as a technique, and I can then usby pwn4 - Look what I made!
Hi guys, I'm getting ready to make my first Reprap, and have chosen to make a Prusa mendel Iteration 2. Amongst other things, the BOM isn't complete for it - nor are the instructions (thankfully, though, apparently most of it is the same. I've been doing my best to try and check). I'm going to buy the prusa V1 kit from mixshop.com, and along with the plastic parts from another source piece the tby pwn4 - Reprappers
Hi guys, I'm new to Reprap and just starting off my first build. I work with systems that use stepper motors, 2mm pitch timing belts, and pulleys at my day job, so when I saw that for Prusa Mendel V2 people were recommending a more accurate than T5 timing belt I knew immediately that that was the right thing to do. I know from experience the kinds of gains in accuracy and precision you get from bby pwn4 - Reprappers
