Extruder stepper surging - 12 years ago
I am having issues with my extruder surging/pulsing. In the video, I am using pronterface and extruding 5mm at a time, you can hear me click a few times, then I up it to extruding 10mm and click again.... the stepper starts pulsing... then I click the 10mm extrude once more and you can see it pulse a bunch of times. then you can hear the motor pulsing even when it's not extruding. this is hapby bobby2sox - General

I am getting this error: ... I went to and downloaded rxtx-2.2pre2.zip and on the main RXTX site it says "TODO: The 2.2pre2 bins contain the 2.2pre1 jar file and the 2.2pre2 native lib which causes a mismatch warning" Should I get RXTX2.2pre1 native lib? So on this page: It says: now open up the host software and jog the x, y, and z axis.... what software is that? Also... I am having a strange noise come out of my y-axis stepper when I plug in my power supply... any ideas? See the video below to understand.by bobby2sox - General

So I // commented out SD support in the config and its still trying to compile the Sd2Card.cpp and getting the same error.... The reason it said it was modified was because I tried to delete the space before the HIGH, then I put it back because it didnt make a difference. If I comment out the SD support... can I delete the Sd2Card.cpp?? Or will that cause errors?by bobby2sox - Firmware - mainstream and related support

Sorry for my n00b question... but I have gotten this far and I cannot figure out how to actually download the firmware from github.com I am at this site: and trying to get Sprinter for my Prusa: Do I open the Sprinter folder and download all of the files in there? Hello Bay Area, I will be receiving everything I need to build my first printer (Prusa Iteration 2) over the next week.... Yeah, I was trying to do it with the RepRap slice/host software.... I found Slic3r and Marlin... where do I get pronterface? I dont understand is it the pronterface.py file? How do I save it and how do I do anything with a .py file?by bobby2sox - General

I thought I followed all of the directions for properly installing Java and the RepRap interface... and I am getting this message.... I even created an Environment Variable called "PATH" Any ideas?
