The endstops should be using almost zero current, so any thickness wire should be fineby DavidS - Reprappers
You could save a little by buying the smooth and threaded rods in lengths and cutting them yourselfby DavidS - Reprappers
I can't help you with kits, but you might consider getting the parts yourself. )by DavidS - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
If your print head is supposed to have raised 20mm, but it has only raised 18mm, then won't that cause the layers to be pushed into the ones below? With the z homing issue, it seems to be registering the end stop being pressed, could it be failing to register it being unpressed? Maybe missing a pull up resistorby DavidS - Reprappers
You have the right lengths If you made these and the top rods longer you could print wider parts, but increasing the size in any dimension increases the chance for instability I suggest leaving that for your second printerby DavidS - Reprappers
I have recently built a prusa Mendel, and tried to source as much as I could myself, and listed everything I bought at My plastic parts weren't actually printed, which I slightly regret, though the whole build has been more than enough of a challenge to make up for it.by DavidS - Reprappers
Here is a picture of my spool holder. I used the frame jig and a couple of pieces of wood. Here also is a link to my parts list, you might spot something you need that you don't haveby DavidS - Reprappers
Started in May I finally finished over Christmas and got a similarly imperfect but awesome first result. Plenty of iterating to do Davidby DavidS - Reprappers
Pla bushings are plastic, and can be printed. They are part of the original prusa design. They slide reasonably well along the smooth rods, or seem to on my half completed printer, but I can see how linear bearings are a worthwhile enhancement. I'd guess bearings are better, but bushings are closer to the ideal of printing as much of the printer you can. It's up to you, but you have to be clear bby DavidS - Reprappers
According to the Prusa Mendel parts list the extruder stepper should be at least 40Ncm. The strongest motors in the first post are 33.5oz/in, which I make to be 24Ncm. Would this not be too weak for the extruder at least?by DavidS - Reprappers
Thanks Is this also known as ABSPrusa?by DavidS - Reprappers
I'm new to RepRap, so sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does v2 refer to? I'm looking into the Prusa, and the bill of parts at , but I'm not clear about version numbers I understand the Prusa is a modification to the original Mendel, but are there multiple Prusa versions? Thanksby DavidS - Reprappers
