I like the compact nature of it (all cut from one 2'x4' sheet of 5-ply), but $450 for mechanicals alone seems a bit stiff. Nearly 25% ofby ethan - General New Machines Topics
Hi, Joshua, What is the green plastic you are machining? Delrin? HDPE? I am considering a hybrid approach to Repstrapping to a Mendel (since our McWire repstrap is *not* a speed demon). Thanks, -ethanby ethan - For Sale

Thanks for the pointer to the map; that just the sort of thing I was looking for. That location is less than 5 miles from my house. I'll definitely start there. I don't mind enlarging the circle to Dayton, but if I can stay local, I will do that. Thanks, -ethanby ethan - For Sale
I've been looking at building a RepRap for over a year now, and now my interest has risen to the level that I wanted to see if anyone in or near Columbus already has one. Thanks, -ethanby ethan - For Sale
Hmm... another thing to add to the pile of why Java isn't my favorite modern language; but that's a topic for another time. I can check around UW-Madison for a Stratasys machine, but for my project, I know all we have is decades-old traditional (manual) machine tools, along with a staff that knows how to use them. I'm much more comfortable in the wild, open spaces of firmware than the tight, coby ethan - Reprappers

Hi, I have been checking out various reprap projects and wanted to know if there was anyone in Ohio (Columbus, preferably) or Wisconsin (near Madison) with a Darwin so I could see one in action, and perhaps participate in some of the self-replication aspects of the project. I'm an experienced hardware technician and systems programmer, so I'm equally comfortable with a soldering iron or microcoby ethan - Reprappers
