Quotedc42 But a general-purpose PC isn't the right machine to controlling real-time tasks such as 3D printing anyway. I always upload my gcode files to the printer's SD card and print from that. This^^^^ People shouldn't be printing from USB PC connections. I learned the hard way (failed print) early on.by Thanos_of_MW - General
Tried the ABS juice, Kapton tape, Buildtak and PEI. I think PEI is the best as I don't have to replace it after several uses like Buildtak or Kapton tape. I've been very successful at printing large parts without ABS detaching from the bed. I use PEI on both my printers and have no problems at all. I set y temperature at 115 C.by Thanos_of_MW - General
Quotemalio77 Hello i am new user this forum and i have a problem with my 3d Printer. As soon as i open the 3d printer, the heatbed starts to warm up also it doesnt stop. I do not do anything about the temperature.Heatbed warm up to 90°.what has it got a problem my 3d Printer please help me. Does this create problems from 3d Printer now thank for your comment I assume the printer is disconnectedby Thanos_of_MW - General

I currently have a Chimera head in one of my 3D printers and I was wondering about the full color Diamond hot-end (CMYKW) I currently do the double mesh split for dual color prints using my CAD software, but I think it would be quite difficult for a full color mixing head printer to have to split a mesh into many separate-color .stl files. Is there a piece of software (preferably free/open sourcby Thanos_of_MW - 3D Design tools
Quotececcuz Hi guys, I've found out my self assembled Kossel can print as fast as 600 (and probably more) the problem is that none of the filaments I have can keep up. I would like to experiment with high fast printing so which filaments do you use for this? Cheers, Francesco Theoretical max. speed. I'm no expert but from my observations in my printers I'd check if your printer can melt your cby Thanos_of_MW - General

I recently got my E3D Legendary pack and setup the Marlin firmware for dual extrusion and installed the Chimera hardware. everything went well and I am dual extruding with different materials and colors. Colors aren't that clean as I have to tweak it more I guess, but I understand the Cyclops is better at dual color (not so with dual materials) so I want to try that next. Does anyone know if there is an open source (preferably) software to "paint" stl files like what ORD solutions is doing with their ROVA 4D printer? That looks like an ideal solution to multi-extrusion prints. Curious now that I got my dual extruder setup to workby Thanos_of_MW - General
QuoteDaGameFace So, I finished designing, printing, assenbling, and firmware tweaking. My dual extruder printer is finally ready to go. So, now what? I use Simplify3D and I only see places to change which extruder prints things like: raft, perimeter, infill, support material. How do you do two color printing on one part such as dice and many other cool two color prints? Start here:by Thanos_of_MW - General
Check this I like this one betterby Thanos_of_MW - General
Personally I have it setup so it only "homes" X and Y but not Z. It gets the head out of the way and you don't have to worry about height since it remains the same.by Thanos_of_MW - General
Everyone makes valid points and everyone is right. Like i tell all my friends who ask me about 3D printers: It is not for the masses just like CNC mills. You don't see CNC mills in every house and those have been around longerby Thanos_of_MW - General
Quotetmorris9 I use PEI as well and I love it. When my PEI was due to be changed (because I gouged it up accidentally) I decided to try BuildTak and while it works I damaged it really quickly and went through 5 of the 6 sheets I bought in a month, I print with ABS mostly and was happy with the results other than it was way to easy to tear and rip. P.S. Do not print flexible materials like Ninja-by Thanos_of_MW - General
Indeed. Bought mine at $90+ before they dropped the price. Worth every cent spent on it. I don't know what a clog isby Thanos_of_MW - General

I buy from Amazon and tried most brands. Hatchbox and Saint smart (white) , no problems with their ABS (I only print in ABS). Octave black didn't work out well for me. I had to put it in the oven for 1/2 hour at 120C to get rid of the humidity. That was my first roll with them and it put me off to get other colors, besides Saint smart is cheapby Thanos_of_MW - General
Very interesting and it just makes me wonder if this would be a better choice than a Kraken. Both are pricey.by Thanos_of_MW - Ormerod
QuoteOhmarinus You could ofcourse just attach a pen to your 3D-printer, but that's no answer to your question. I've seen people build an open-source candlewax printer, that was pretty awesome. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, my mother has a printer with refills that you can make yourself, not illegally, but really meant like that! But I remember it didn't work that well, I could askby Thanos_of_MW - General
You can also specify which extruder to use for support in Simplify3D.by Thanos_of_MW - General

Quotepolkary Thank you guys, I've tested outside + fan + heat sink. still having issues with slow heating (more than 10 minutes to arrive to 95 while temp goes up than down than up again) since the heat was sounded like a real issue I've tested that & with the fan [2000 RPM] I don't think that the MOSFET over-heating and I would expect to feel the heat when I'm near it but the fan does it'sby Thanos_of_MW - Reprappers
Cool! I guess they are getting around their initial problems. I did order the Z-coupler from them a few weeks back and they delivered it quickly (received within a week). That got rid of my Z-wobble problem.by Thanos_of_MW - General
Sorry I missed this. Did get my printer a few days after. Some parts were missing and others were broken. They did replace the missing parts but not the broken ones (I fixed myself). Printer runs fine after the upgrades from Thingiverse. Do get the flexible coupler, makes a big difference. The rest you can print and "upgrade". Not bad for the money if you are patient enough I guess.by Thanos_of_MW - General
I got my printer but there were 2 broken parts and some others missing. They said they were going to ship those to me, but given the long time it took for the actual printer to be delivered (I assume they still have supply issues) I am not holding my breath. I glued the parts and made/bought the missing ones and got the printer running. Still tweaking and I will proceed to print all upgrades lisby Thanos_of_MW - General
Thanks for the links! That gives me some more places to report. Also, I noticed how they changed the pre-order shipping date from April to June in their web site.by Thanos_of_MW - General
Update: They told me that there was a mistake (June 5th) and that my printer has shipped already. So far, they have not sent me the tracking number for this supposedly "shipped" printer. I reopened the ticket, but I am reporting them for internet fraud if I don't get that tracking number tomorrow. I'd like them to succeed, but I am tired of BS excuses.by Thanos_of_MW - General
Update: I asked for a full refund. Let's see how that goes.by Thanos_of_MW - General
On the same boat as you. They told me mine would "ship tomorrow" 2 weeks ago. Maybe I should ask for a refund. I didn't want to get a Printrbot because it didn't look as well built as the TwoUp. No response to my latest "ticket" after 48 hours.by Thanos_of_MW - General
