Yup when the specified temp in Slic3r is reached the printer will start. Im freaked out because I can't turn off the limits, or simply don't know how to. I had some opto switches that lit up and now won't, I had power to them but no LED now. One axis only moves one dir, and the switch is connected properly, very messed up stuff. Will Sanguinololu work without limits? If it will how do I set it uby whatisacnc - Reprappers

It's possible but if that where the case they probably wouldn't move at all, or just make some noise. I had to change some stepper motors out from Nema17 motors to the Soyo 6V .8A motor just to get stuff moving on my most recent project, those motors just kinda chattered from being underpowered. I don't know why but I couldn't adjust the Pot on the PCB, it just keeps spinning, I also think thatby whatisacnc - Reprappers

Thanks for getting back to me. I haven't tried to issue that command and I don't know how. Do I use Pronterface? Also I even disconnected a wire to my Y axis and it still moves, it's not supposed to right?by whatisacnc - Reprappers

Sorry next to that I don't have any suggestions, it almost sounds like firmware. It also could be the software you're using to generate the G-code, are you using "Slic3r"? Maybe it's a setting in there.by whatisacnc - Reprappers

I've pulled out the multi-meter and I checked the continuity of the wires, there's no issue on that front, then I disconnected one motor and found that the motor's trying to move but has little torque, it's the amperage I think. I'm using a 12v 300w power supply with Nema-17 .9deg 2.4A stepper motors from Phidgets. Are they too big for this driver? Any help is truly appreciated, I'm really lostby whatisacnc - Reprappers

I had this problem when I started with the Gen6, it was because I didn't connect the limit-switches at all. To print the machine will try to home everything before the print and you maybe trying to trick the software. This could be the cause, are your limits connected?by whatisacnc - Reprappers

Sounds like a limit switch. If you're using Opto's make sure the wires are connected to the swich properly.by whatisacnc - Reprappers

Hi everyone, New problem today... I have X and Y moving nice but the Z axis just jumps back and forth/ chatters when I try to move it in Pronterface, the extruder motor seems to be working nice too, it moves 5mm filament in when I click on the "extrude" 5mm in Pronterface. When I try to move X or Y and I trip the opto nothing changes, the bed or extruder will just keep moving. I've tried anothby whatisacnc - Reprappers

Solved the problem, I had to re-install the bootloader. I used the TinyUSB and it solved the problem, although I did have some trouble finding out what Pin-1 was on the TinyUSB itself. Now I've discovered that I mixed up my X and Z motor, but at least I can load the Firmware now!by whatisacnc - Reprappers

My Huxley with the Gen6 electronics from makerfarm.com uses some "hardboard" as the table, the heatbed sits on it and the glass on that. I did cover the hardboard in a thin layer of epoxy given it's just compressed paper; also Gen6 dosen't have heatbed control so I just connect it to a 300W power supply when I use it, however I find painters tape does fine for holding stuff down, and "Skirting"by whatisacnc - Reprappers

I find painters tape works fine, it can be tricky to get the parts off the tape and the bed after but everything sticks nice. The largest parts I print are for that game "Pocket-Tactics "http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:54865 , not sure if you're doing smaller or not and that's the smallest I've tried so far with results. I'm starting to wonder if this is a bootloader problem, or maybe if I uninstall the device and have it re-install again? Just a little frustrating.... Also what should the Baud-rate be? Is there any good literature on the topic? Thanks again for the time and help.by whatisacnc - Reprappers

Sorry I don't know what you're reffering to with "IIRC", but I made the change from the 20 to 16mhz and I'm still sitting here waiting for the load-bar to move, image attached. Alright so I've decided to try Sprinter and the Arduino IDE just times out, I've chosen Atmega644p 20hz from the list and connect to COM8. The IC I have reads Atmega644p 20pu 1238. Not sure what to do now, the motors aren't really moving just kinda chattering. Also when the PCB gets logic from the PC the LED on the power supply lights up, same as the PCB LED it flashed every 1/2second or so. Pby whatisacnc - Reprappers

Thank you! I've been looking at the firmware and installed into the proper directory but I'm not sure how to define things in "Configuration.h". What motherboard to I choose, it's default "33"? I also don't have a heatbed connected and I'm using the "J-Head" hotend. Thanks for the help.by whatisacnc - Reprappers

You can do it! Just take one thing at a time, note also that there are only a few key things to construction; * You need Printed parts, check out E-bay for those; technically if you have the parts you have a machine. * You need hardware from the hardware store, also known as "Vitamins". * You need electronics, for most people this is one of the more tricky things to figure out, hence why I staby whatisacnc - Reprappers

I should also note that teh hotend does get warm too, so without firmware installed and powered everything starts to work. The stepper motors start jogging back and fourth, the LED logic power light tends to dim every 1 second, and the hot end warms up. Is this normal or.... what did I do wrong? Hello everyone, I need a little help hooking up my "Sanguinololu Rev 1.3a", I've wired everything and after I supply power and the bootloader installs the motors start moving backand fourth. Is this normal or have I missed something like a jumper? Also the LED seems to dim every 1/2 second or so when just connected to the PC without the supply plugged in.
