I have quickly wired up an old 16x2 lcd I hd sitting around and it seems to be working however I can't find how to wire up the pot for the options menu etc. also there is no backlight. Any suggestionsby parksie - Reprappers
Quotebengele Hoping that someone who is better at electronics can verify what I am going to do. I am trying to follow Tom's Guide on setting up auto bed leveling 3D printing guides: Setting up auto bed tramming leveling tilt compensation! I am going to just use the open terminals on the power supply to get 12v input and ground. It looks to me like the pin closest to the edge of the ramps boardby parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteHairLikeFrodo I'm just wondering what you guys have your vref pots on your stepper drivers set at. Mine are the standard .35v and .45v for the Y axis. I'm still getting that strange diagonal pattern. Mine is set to the voltages recommended in the new Folger tech manual. .35 .50 .35 .35 I believe. Are your bearing holders on the tray tight? Download latest marlin from GitHub. Try compiling see if you have errors.by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
My values wouldnt be the same as yours as I use custom code and auto bed levellingby parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
That's the wrong configuration h file if you are using the latest Marlins firmware. That's why you are having issues. You need to downloads the official marlin firmware and update it with your values from the golfer tech config h file, not just copy and paste which it looks like you have done.by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteNlh205 Quoteparksie QuoteNlh205 No parksie i had the filament through the hole and it started air printing and clicking. QuoteNlh205 So I have finally had a few successful prints using the white abs from folgertech. So when I ran out I decided I would try out a spool of the pla i bought from seacans.ca. After running about 6 inches of it through my extruder, the extruder started clicking. It was the extruder trying to force the pla down through the barrel. So it ended up getting jammed and i had to clean it out, buby parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotekonto89 What firmware did you use? I can't remember the name, however since then I have found the reason the Master Marling Firmware didn't work. WIth my Machine the MAX Endstops were always in a triggered state (You can check this with M119) even though they were not being used. Because of the this the logic behind the auto bed level doens't work and it just probes in one location insteadby parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteDrozes Hi Parksie - which mount did you use for your server on your auto-level? Mind linking the model? Hi, I use This one from thingiverse. However I did run into problems getting aut bed level to work on the Marlin firmware. Obviously the Folger Tech firmware is old and doesn't have a number of features including Auto Bed Level, so I tried with the latest version from the Marlin Marter gby parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteHairLikeFrodo I fixed my issue. It was just a bad ramps board. I swapped it with my old printer and it worked perfectly. Did you get it from Folger Tech? I also had a faulty RAMPs board from them. The PINs for the Y end stops didn't work. Took me forver to work out what the issues was.by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteNlh205 I have finally got all axis working using the folgertech firmwire. I could not get response from a new flash. But as said before, you have to home each axis before you may jog them correctly. Also I believe I had a bad stepper driver because I had to change my y axis stepper driver and then that axis worked fine. But I have ran into a issue with my extruder g gear going in the wrong dby parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteHairLikeFrodo I will give that a try in the morning. It's about 1:40am where I am. I'll let you know when I wake up. Thank you. No worries. Let me know how you go.by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes, thats right. You should try the latest Marlin Firmware from here. Marlin Firmware At least then you can rule out a firmware issue.by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
Which firmware are you using? Have you tried flashing a new version?by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants
Have you checked the voltage to the stepper drivers? If that is fine, I would say it could be a firmware or RAMPS issue. Have you tired pronterface and Repetier Host?by parksie - Prusa i3 and variants

Quotejrcaster Make sure your servo is wired properly. There is a difference between JR, Futaba, and Airtronics wired servo's. Also you never mentioned which servo you are using. If it wasn't wired correctly. Then M402 wouldn't retract it right?by parksie - Reprappers
I have just got my auto bed level working, however I need to manually add a M402 to the GCODE to make it retract before printing. Is this normal? Or should it be retracting itself post G28?by parksie - Reprappers
Ok, The issue was the voltage pull from the steppers was too much for the RAMPS board and caused it to crash. External power source now works fine.by parksie - Reprappers
Also, can you up check you power supply and make sure it is over 12V, I adjusted mine to 12.6 and addeda head sink to the ceramic on the RAMPS board. Made a huge difference. I now get to 110 is about 20-25 minutes. Before it was close to and sometimes over 1 hour.by parksie - Reprappers
Now, I when I hit G29, I just another G28 Home. Rather than multiple points. Using the latest Marlin firmware. With Auto leveling enabled. Any suggestions?by parksie - Reprappers
Thanks for your help 3D Karma. I have the stepper running from an external source now and removed the servo power jumper. All working fine.by parksie - Reprappers
Quote3dkarma Not enough power from the RAMPS board to run the servo. You'll need to power the servo separately. Ah ok. That makes sense. Others don't seem to have the same problem. Is there something I can do to increase power to RAMPS 1.4 board? Or would a different servo have lower power requirements?by parksie - Reprappers
I am getting connection errors whenever I move the servo motor. It moves but then teh RAMPS wont respond until I reset. Everything else works fine, I have tested on P0 D11 also, same issue.
