Yea it can maintain a temp fine, so i'm sure pretty sure it's something in the software. I'll have to check pronterface to see if there's a way to just set it to the original settings i guess i changed something while calibrating that i shouldnt have.by some_biker - Reprappers
temp reads fine, so its got to be something in the settings what should M204 be set to?by some_biker - Reprappers
Soooo... some how, i managed to drop a bolt on my arduino for a second and now the temp goes up to 200 when i set it on 185. the printer seems to be printing just fine, but the only difference is the temperature wont cut out when it hits the correct temp. Is there a quick fix for this? the temp does stop... but it just stops too high. I attatched a pic of where the bolt fell (in red). The extrudeby some_biker - Reprappers
hahaha lol youre right... i didnt look at the date SMHby some_biker - Reprappers
the belts do stretch over time. I'd check the calibration then also tighten the little flush bolt on the motor gear drive just like Dirty Steve suggested.by some_biker - Reprappers
also. you will need to press the home buttton so that it can find where the end stops are. Once you press the home buttons for each direction (and it finds the end stops), you'll be able to move in both directions. Be sure to have your finger on the power button in case you switched the motors by accident.by some_biker - Reprappers
I had the same message... it was because i forgot to attatch the SD card attatchment onto the arduino.by some_biker - Reprappers
Great info. Thanks a lot.by some_biker - Reprappers
oh man... you and i both buddy. i'm from San Francisco so i'm very aware of hackerspace up there, and my family is into all that. Apparently there was one in the Clairemont area but i dont think it worked out. I'd love to have an idustrial type space, but i agree that $150 is too much.by some_biker - California / Southern California RepRap Usergroup
I'm actually closer to the 8, but I dont mind traveling up to Sorrento Valley. I'm looking into calibration right now and trying to get everything perfect. Do you have a place in Sorrento Valley/ Mira Mesa? Maybe we could meet up on the weekend.by some_biker - California / Southern California RepRap Usergroup
turned out to be the little bolt on the y-axis motor. Thanks for the help!by some_biker - Reprappers
Already tried the tension... about a cm of free tension on the x axis belt, and 3/4 of a cm of free play on the y belt. Too much free tension would make ovals. Where would you lube? the inside of the motor (o_0)?by some_biker - Reprappers
Hi Reprappers! I cant seem to print a circle. I’ve checked my XYZ calibration numerous times, but I don’t think that’s the issue. Since I’m trying to print a circle I’ll explain the situation using a clock. The circle starts off bad by just having a straight line along the x-axis at 6’oclock, then seems to do fine when it moves positively along the y-axis. As the printer reaches 12’oclock, it theby some_biker - Reprappers
Yea! I'm not with my printer right now, but just reading through a couple of the links inspires confidence. THANKS!!by some_biker - General
Does anyone have a good guide to get started with the software? I'm kinda lost on how to set up Arduino and configure it with Pronterface. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. I'm using Marlin with Arduino and uploading it. I was able to open Pronterface and move in one direction, but then i had to shut down and go to school. The next day i tried again and it wouldnt move. I tried doing the same thby some_biker - General
If there are "plenty" of people in So-Cal i'd love to find them... any help with my reprap would be awesome. I'm in San Diego. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up and mess with printers.by some_biker - California / Southern California RepRap Usergroup
Anyone in San Diego want to geek out and mess around with their 3d printers?? I’m new to 3d printing and I’m in the process of configuring my firmware and getting my software running.by some_biker - California / Southern California RepRap Usergroup
Once I get my printer configured I plan to do something similar. I'm working with composite materials, so slightly different than working with injection molding. I would suggest using the printer to print both sides of the mold with enough of a gap in-between for the printing surface to be coated with your mold release, then you can create a small inlet to inject your plastic. just keep in mind tby some_biker - General
I fear that this will would create the disillusion that these parts would hold up better than ABS or PLA. The reason this is incorrect is because the impact resistance often times negate the positive effects of Carbon Fiber. They may initially be stronger, but they will wear out easier, and if there is high stress put on the parts printed there will be a more catastrophic failure (parts will be mby some_biker - General
