do you print abs or pla? what is you surface (glass, painters tape, kapton, acetone?)and what is your layer height and extruder multiplier?by Farmerprints - Reprappers
I agree. But high by how much? If I get 0.1mm closer the filiment will flay from the proximity. However, there must be some slic3r adjustments that are applicable? the bed is reasonably level already. Have you ever put a negitive (-) number after the "minimum travel after retraction" ? what is your value?by Farmerprints - Reprappers
Does aanyone know what setting I can change in slic3r or firmware that will make the start and jumps start with zero material added with just the right amount of filiment immediatly after. My print is starting of early with too much material that ouzes up into the head and sticks to it for remainder of print. Alternatievely, the filiment will come out too late and curl from the movement. My layerby Farmerprints - Reprappers
Weird, Sounds like you "start G-code" isn't set up perfectly. what have you done with it so far? mine is this . G92 E0 ; set extruder position to zero G28 X0 Y0 ; home X and Y axis G1 X10 Y20 F3000; Make sure we are over the Glass G1 E-1.5 F2000 G90 ; Use absolute coordinates G21 ; Use mm M190 S60 ; set bed temp to 60 and wait M109 S200 ; Wait for extruder to heat up G1 X100 Y100 F6000 ; go tby Farmerprints - Reprappers
Experience with engineering fundamentals help for this question. The idea is fine. Make sure you don't fasten one end of it down or is will cause wobbling. Long rotating rods have a higher radius of gyration if you fasten them on both ends. Your threaded rod being smaller is lowering the radius of gyration, and allowing a little required deflection. So is the rule behind structural column buckinby Farmerprints - Reprappers
One of my largest issue that I recently fixed. Fix it mechanically. It's the bearing. aside from the prusa having y-axis design flaw, the friction from all the moving parts in the bearing is the cause. Switch to metal on metal bushings with lots of grease. Less noise and no friction or gouging the steel rod like with the bearings. Should look something like the picture attached.by Farmerprints - Reprappers

I Have Prusa Mendel and the same electronics as you. Like you, i have recently learned that all printers are quite different after calibration. I went through several speeds with terrible outcomes. I now have very good speeds that get the job done without stressing my motor drivers. This is my most recent firmware settings: Diregard the steps per unti, this is custom to your pulley wheel, belt teby Farmerprints - Reprappers
Hi, I just discovered a problem with the printrun functioning on a Mac with Mavericks 10.9. The new Mavericks version has a setting for each application that allows it to be put to sleep. I didn't know this about mavericks before I got it. Not a problem though. If you have the same problem, right click (command click) on the new printrun and go to Get Info and check the box in the window that sby Farmerprints - Reprappers
Those parts are just warped. The builder didn't have the proper headed bed or brims. But they are the right design. All you need is a better source, or to use PLA for the most part (excluding anything close to the extruder) because PLA does not warp as easily.by Farmerprints - Reprappers
I'm getting the same problem, but with PLA filament. I know my small extruder gear is tight and turns consistantly. I know the extruder has enough power to push but not to overheat. I think hte problem is my idle bolts don't have springs on them. causing the idle to loosen every once in a while and stop pressure on the hobbed bolt and hense, the filament. Does the idler need a spring to keepby Farmerprints - Printing
Is this some kind of custom made version of a Prusa i3? What is that white Material. Looks like you know what your doing though. Is it printing now>? Roryby Farmerprints - Mechanics
Hi Vincenzo, This is Rory. How nice to see another TZM staff. I am technitian, engineering for Zeitgeist Movement Canada (Toronto). I will be sure to announce your initiative to the Chapter. Our chapter here is currently establishing a firm stanting with 3d printer technology and its involvement in the getting people away from consumerism. We have several initiatives set forth this year with ourby Farmerprints - Canada, Toronto RepRap User Group
I have a Mendel which I just got operational. I mostly have PLA filiment. But I can print you all the parts if you give me a due date.by Farmerprints - Canada, Toronto RepRap User Group
