Thanks Bobc, it's been a busy weekend. As for the connectors you can likely bend them up or better just replace them. Though yeah it is now on backorder but it looks like he gets some in every few weeks(I think). It runs Kamikaze(debian linux) on a beaglebone black and the replicape is a cape that goes on top and it runs redeem which you can configure via octoprint or SSH into the board and editby zerodameaon - General

Let me get the dimensions on my Replicape when I get home, with the connectors bent up or new ones put on it might just squeeze in there. I cannot find any dimensions online for the board but its basically a cape stuck on top of a beagle bone black, unfortunately it is a little bit wider then the BBB below it.by zerodameaon - General

You can continue to use Repetier with Marlin on RAMPS 1.4, if it isn't working something is not configured right. I have been using Repetier with Marlin 0.9 and 1.1.0 RCx for the last year with not a single problem. It is great software, the only reason I don't use it anymore is because I now use Replicape.by zerodameaon - General

With a 200x200x200 build plate you can get up to ~280mm build space on x and y if you print on a 45. I have noticed that my want to build a gigantic printer as a beginner was pretty unfounded, and the time to print stuff was way too long. It is my experience that 9 times out of 10 a 200x200 build plate will suffice, and that 10th time could be solved with a 250x250mm build plate.by zerodameaon - General

What Version E3D? That is not a V6 nozzle. The E3D Lite6 has a ptfe tube all the way down to the nozzle, but it also uses the same nozzle as the V6 which does not have a tube that goes past he heat break.by zerodameaon - Reprappers

Filastruder won me over with gummy bears. So far I got a bad fan from my Lite6, but that is my only real complaint of part failures. After a few hundred hours my thermistor broke but that is about 85% my fault.by zerodameaon - General

Buy the Lite6, I got mine from Filastruder for the same price, I was just rounding up a little. I bought the 15 dollar V6 off of Amazon, it would not do PLA and had a really hard time with ABS unless I oiled it before it went down the barrel. EDIT: I should say I have a dual extruder setup with one V6 and a Lite6 and am happy with both.by zerodameaon - General

Buy a real E3DV6, or a real E3DLite6, save yourself the frustration of a fake E3D. As for the Lite6 it does not need spare heat breaks as it is built into the stainless steel heatsink, it also uses a PTFE liner all the way down to the nozzle hence the limit of 260c. IDK where you live but a Lite6 is about $40 usd max and a real all metal V6 is only $80 usd so it is well worth it to buy the real dby zerodameaon - General

Lookup Toms Guides on youtube, he has a great section about configuring ABL. It works fine for RC2, and with four points auto bed leveling does run backwards from the previous stable version yet still worked fine, when I bumped it up to 9 points it ran in the positive directions like I was used to.by zerodameaon - General

Whatever goes into the horns there is most likely causing the issue on that first one. As for the most recent post others have also noted it dies right above the eyes, there is clearly something wrong with the model. Try running it through netfab first.by zerodameaon - Printing

I read that somewhere as well and dealt with it for a long time but recently went through Slic3rs defaults and realized they recommend the layer height being equal to the nozzle diameter. It is night and dayby zerodameaon - General

Your temps are to low. I take it this is PLA, if so try 190c and set your filament width to whatever your filament actually is. Try making your first layer height the width of your nozzle and turning extrusion for the first layer up to 200%.by zerodameaon - General

That is not even a knockoff of a J-Head, its its own product. If you want a J-Head buy a real one, if you want an all metal version look at E3D, Prometheus, etc. EDIT: OK its not its own product, but it is a knockoff of something closer to a E3D.by zerodameaon - General

You also have to factor in the fact that thing is a box frame Prusa I3 built by me when I had no clue what I was doing. That alone really does not help things, though one of these days it will be either upgraded to a Vslot setup or the x and z axis will ditch the smooth rods in favor of a vslot setup. I will run this same three G29 test tomorrow after a few prints and post back.by zerodameaon - General

Picked up one of these sensors,LJC18A3-H-Z/BX, took a week to get from China to California. I hooked it up straight to my RAMPS with no issues, signal lead to the Z MIN and +/- to the header right under the X axis stepper driver. So far it has been repeatable and setup was a breeze.by zerodameaon - General

The name might work. The reason I brought it up was simply because I would like to see something like this come through. If it is reliable it would be good for a side printer you don't mess with so you can print parts for the one you are always messing with and breaking. Not saying this will limit you to just a reliable printer but that would be the selling point for me.by zerodameaon - General

People do this all the time, there are a lot of instructions around the web to build filament holders with desiccants out of plastic totes, 5 gallon buckets(what I use based off of 3dPonics design, or at least i think that is who posted it) etc. It is a great idea, go ahead and do it.by zerodameaon - General
