I use a 300mm diameter silicone heater from Keenova on mains (120AC) voltage. My bed is a bit thicker aluminum (MIC-6) than DC42s and it has a PrintBite pad on top. An enclosure is usually required to print ABS. I haven't needed a heater for the enclosure when printing ABS. The bed heater is sufficient.by etfrench - Delta Machines

I used 2550 from Misumi on my meter high delta. I wouldn't recommend anything less. The top and bottom are torsion boxes. It is also all aluminum.by etfrench - Delta Machines
Why use glass? I've used PrintBite for years. I suspect PEI would work just as well.by etfrench - General
Fritzing works really well for drawings like this. I use Kicad for actually designing a pcb.by etfrench - General
My home built and designed delta has been running for about four years now. If the filament makers could actually produce filaments that met their specs, I wouldn't have any trouble.by etfrench - General
I think magnets are great for holding the arms in place until you can attach all the springs With springs you can adjust the amount of tension. You just need 6 hands to install them if you don't use magnets as well.by etfrench - Delta Machines
I agree with VDX. CNC and 3d printing don't mix well. Requirements are opposites. Besides, how are you going to CNC something while your 3d printer is in the middle of a 30 hour print?by etfrench - Reprappers

QuoteMj996 How about a seperate 3d-printed mount for this assembly that place on top of the frame? I have a hard time imagining a 3d printed mount that would be rigid enoughby etfrench - Delta Machines
No, it will just cause the bearings to wear faster. The most accurate method of making the holes is to use a boring bar on a lathe or a boring head on a mill. If neither of these is available, then using a new drill and a reamer should work.by etfrench - Delta Machines
It should work fine. The only difficult part is ensuring the holes for the shaft are perfectly aligned.by etfrench - Delta Machines
The pulley has an 8mm bore. The shoulder bolt is 5mm. The two MF85ZZ bearings have flanges. The head of the shoulder bolt doesn't need a bearing shim, the threaded end does.by etfrench - Delta Machines
You won't see much in a picture, just the head of the shoulder screw and the pulley Attached are images of the CAD model. The frame of the delta is Misumi 2550 extrusion. The pulley mount is attached to the narrow side with two locking bolts. The tension adjuster is just a threaded rod through the top plate (not shown) and uses a nut to adjust the tension. Once adjusted the locking bolts areby etfrench - Delta Machines
Is the bearing in the pulley riding on threads? If so, I'd be surprised if the bearings would last very long at all. I use pulleys with an 8mm bore, MF85ZZ bearings, and precision 5mm shoulder screws.by etfrench - Delta Machines
Take a look at the grblHal project for running grbl on a Teensy 4.1. I think you'll find it much better than grbl on an Uno.by etfrench - General
You may change your mind when you try printing at >100mm/sby etfrench - Delta Machines
I made "tnuts" for mine by drilling and tapping M3 holes in .5"x.125" rectangular aluminum bar. I used 2550 extrusions. 1515 is way too small unless you add stiffening brackets.by etfrench - Delta Machines
Swap X and Y(or Z) wires to verify X motor and wiring.by etfrench - General
How accurately can you measure the length of each arm or the difference between each arm?by etfrench - Delta Machines
Actually, a counterbore would be better than a countersink. Countersinks are for flathead screws which have tapered bottoms. These force the mating pieces to be in a specific position with no lateral movement allowed. Counterbores are for socket head screws. Since these are flat on the bottom a small amount of lateral movement is allowed. The bed is expanding when heated and contracting whenby etfrench - Delta Machines
If the wheel bearings are binding, there is a defect in your design. The inner ring of the bearing should be the only place there is contact between the nut and the bearing and also the housing and the bearing.by etfrench - General
The dual Prometheus system can be installed as a single filament system to begin with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Prometheus system as mine has run flawlessly for four or five years.by etfrench - Delta Machines
I use Fusion 360 to generate 3d models and produce the gcode. My CNC router runs LinuxCNC. It's a hard combination to beat for the price.by etfrench - General
Perhaps a better quality geared stepper will work: The 50:1 model has torque rating over 2000 oz-in, about 10 times what your Nema 23 motor is rated. Determining the amount needed can be done by hanging a weight from a pulley above the bed. Keep adding weight until the bed moves.by etfrench - Reprappers
