Oops I meant to post this with the printrbot list.by stmaus - General
I've notice during assembly of the parts I printed that the bottom rod holes of the base are very brittle and snap easily due to the bias in the print, even with a .8 fill ratio. I'm making some bracing straps that should reinforce the base and maybe hold together a broken one. If it works I'll post it on Thingiverse.by stmaus - General
I keep getting this error with openSCAD models that seem to render fine. How can I fix this? Is there a MeshLAB tool that I can use?by stmaus - Slic3r
I have almost all the bugs worked out except that I can't get the extruder to run. I've printed passable parts with repsnapper, but I would really like to do this in repG.by stmaus - RAMPS Electronics

I'm having a problem with communication in the same setup as well. If I dry run with the stepper extruder disconnected including D9 D10 I will get no errors. The moment I try to actually extrude during production I get a checksum error. It seems the RS485 and the 2 inputs are colliding. Is there a work-around for this?by stmaus - Firmware - mainstream and related support
The only solution was to go back to Jaunty.by stmaus - RepRap Host
I'm using the the new mendel host on Ubuntu Jaunty. When I start it the grid display gives me a black background and won't load parts correctly. It seems as if not all of the resources may not be loading. If on the rare occasion I get a grey background all seems fine. I can't figure out what I'm doing differently.by stmaus - RepRap Host
I've loaded the newest host software and have noticed that some of the fonts in the control panel are illegible. I'm running Ubuntu Karmic and I'm wondering if it might be a configuration problem. It seems to be happening with my netbook as well as my desktop.by stmaus - RepRap Host
This error occurs during g code file generating. Is there a fix for this? I'm using the 20090804 host software and it does this no matter what stl file I try to use.by stmaus - RepRap Host
I'm trying to place a part that is floating above the XY plain. How do I move a stl part so that I know it's on the table?by stmaus - Reprappers
I manage to finally download the iso file and burn it using Ubuntu cd/dvd burner. All the files install but when I try to boot off the DVD I get a boot failed message. Any ideas what's happening?by stmaus - RepRap Host
I'm finishing the construction of a McWire repstrap and was wondering if any users have tried LinuxCNC to run a Reprap?by stmaus - RepRap Host
I was wondering what material weed wacker lines are made from. It can be bought in nearly 3mm size and seems like a ready made easy to get material. Can anyone give some advice?by stmaus - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I agree with Teeter, I did the same thing and the springs worked fine.by stmaus - Reprappers
Wow! He's fast! Got a message from Zach that he can send me the replacements. Thanks Zach!by stmaus - Controllers
It turns out my problem was more serious than mere jumper settings. When I looked closely at the board I found that the circuit running between the C6 and POT that should supply voltage to the two sensor jacks had completely delaminated. It is the exact same mistake on both boards which leads me to believe it is a manufacturing defect. I don't know why I didn't spot it sooner. I've e-mailed Zaby stmaus - Controllers
Ah-hah! That's exactly how I have my boards set! It seemed the correct thing to do but I'll try your changes today and post back soon. Thanks!by stmaus - Controllers
If the main 5V was the problem then the card wouldn't work at all. And C5 and C8 on both boards are fine. It's odd that it's affecting two boards at once.by stmaus - Controllers
I've successfully built my three stepper boards and when I run the motor check it seems fine. I have noticed though that as the board heats up I get a little glitchy action from the motor that goes away as I blow on the heat sink. Guess I'll need a fan. Anyway, the problem I'm having is that two out of three of the boards is not supplying the needed 5v to my min/max sensor jacks. I seem to haveby stmaus - Controllers
I'm trying to compile and load v1.3 and I'm getting this message from the Arduino Compiler. o: In function `setup': undefined reference to `SNAP::begin(long)'o: In function `loop': I'm not a very good coder so I'm not able to fix this myself. Has anyone else solved this?by stmaus - RepRap Host
