What is the correct turn direction of the extruder motor? - 9 years ago

I'm testing the my extruder motor in pronterface. With my printer facing me I press extrude in pronterface and the gear turns away from me If I press reverse it turns toward me Is this correct? If not will reversing the pin connection on my ramps cause any issues Thanks Steve

HotEnd Test not working - 9 years ago

I'm trying to test that my HotEnd and Bed controls in Pronterface Heat is set to 230, I then press "Set" T:26.4/230.0 B:108.8/0.0 T0:26.4/230.0 Unless I'm misunderstanding this T:26.4 should be rising until it reaches 230.0 - Correct? Instead of T - 'B' is rising I double checked and the Hotend is connected to D10 on the Ramps and the Bed is on D8 What could cause this?

Trying to understand Endstop, X,Y,Z Home - 9 years ago

I'm at the config stage of my build. Here is my setup p3steel Face me the endstops are placed as followed: X = right side Z = Lower left Y = Rear In Pronterface when I press Y-home the bed moves to the rear, when it hits the endstop the bed taps the endstop a couple of times and stops <<< Is this the expected behavior? when I press Z-Home the axis lowers to the endstop but when it hit

Solved: Cause: I had connected 5 volts to 5 amp input

I tested each stepper and had no movement at all. I'm going to try buying another set of stepper drivers before buying a new Ramp.

I've removed all connections on the Ramps board. Question is it possible to connect a single stepper and test it? or does the board require all connections have to be made before it will allow any stepper to function. I was hoping to connect each axis test that it works before moving on to the next. Thoughts Steve

I was excited to finally get to the testing stage I followed the config instructions on RepRap I tested the end stops and they all worked or triggered as expected. I've hit a road block in my build.
